A week later
Mara’s Pov
I was already dressed in my school uniform, school had resumed on Monday, can’t really believe am in my last term in highschool and to crown it all tommorow is my birthday.
Mabel and I had been so close, we can’t do without each other, the both of us were now living in the same room.
Mom had really being busy preparing for our birthday, but I don’t know why I have this bad feeling,I just can’t place my hand on it.
Sis I see you are dressed Mab said coming in.
Yeah get ready and meet me downstairs I said and walked out.
Moment later
Mabel and I were riding down the highway to school in the same car and she turned on a music blasting my ears.
Turn that off I said frustrated.
No way am enjoying this she said.
You are impossible I said and she smirked, always been n@ughty.
We pulled at the driveway in school and came out, people started taking photos
Hi babes Mabel said as we entered the class and got to our personal seat with Anna and Ara the three of them had really being close. Elsa accepted to be our friend but Alvira couldn’t so she left the country.
So your party is tommorow Ara said.
Yeah aren’t you coming I asked.
I would come along with my boyfriend she said, lest I forgot Ara was dating the guy she met at the mall and his really cute.
Jay’s Pov
I sat with Dan at my sitting room, Mara had been calling to ask why I didn’t come to school but I ignored I know she would be so mad now.
So what did you get for her Dan asked.
Something special I said.
Oh! you are now keeping it away from me Dan said.
Ok fine I said and brought out the neck chain, it was pure gold.
wow this is so cute Dan said.
Thanks dude I said smiling.
Next day (evening)
Mabel’s Pov
I was very excited. I couldn’t wait for the party to start.
Mab I can see you are blushing stupidly Anna said.
You are really annoying I said and rolled my eyes.
Calm down babe it’s already time Ara said and I smiled. Ara Anna and Elsa had been here since morning. The girls had really been fun to be with and I must say I have the best sister.
Mara are you okay I asked looking at Mara who was lying in the bed, she had been like this since morning I tried cheering her up all to no avail.
Why do I have this feeling that all is not well she said .
Come on its our day and nothing should weigh you down I said and she nodded.
Girls come get dressed mom said and the make up artist including those dressing us entered.
My gown was blue while Mara’s was red, we both wore our things and if fitted perfectly fine, I wore my heels as Anna helped me.
Moment later.
Mara and I stood behind the curtain, I was excited.
I would now wanna call on the celebrants to come on stage the MC said and Mara and I stepped out.
We walked out hand in hand and I could see the whole crowd gasp.
Happy birthday sweethearts mom said and kssed our cheeks.
They all sang Happy birthday song to us then cut the cake while Mara was called to give a speech.
Today is a very happy day in my life, am really grateful to be in the midst of everyone here, my mom, dad sister and all my friends and well wishers. I want to say thank you to mom for understanding me. Years ago I never thought I had a family. But here I am today and all thanks to my boyfriend, Jay I love you and to my one and only Dan for being the best friend one could ever wish for and to Ara and Anna am gratefu. And lastly to the best sister in the world though we had a lot of misunderstanding but she’s the best thing that has ever happened to me I love you Mabel she said crying.
I love you too I said and hugged her while everyone clapped.
Unknown pov
I cleaned the tears in my eyes, they look so happy while am the one in pain.
Today is gonna be the last day of their happiness, so they should enjoy it while it last.
Boss it’s already set my assistant said.
Ok go get started with the plans I said.
Yes boss be said and walked away.
I sipped in the remaining vodka, just then my phone rang and I looked at the caller it was dad, dad anything I asked..

You better don’t disappoint me he said and I cut the call, stupid fellow I cu.rsed under my breath.
I took a look at the party it was going smoothly. I walked towards Mara and slipped a paper in her hand, telling her to meet me outside.
Mara’s Pov
The party was going on smoothly.
Happy birthday Kay said as he got to where I was and kssed me, then put a neck lace around my neck. It was shining like gold, omg this is expensive.
Don’t ever take it off he said and kssed me and I responded.
Travis walked past and put a paper in my hand, I broke away and looked at it he said I should meet him outside.
Jay excuse me I said…
Yeah sure he said and walked away.
Travis I called as I walked out but no reply.
Travis I called again but yet no reply.
Mara am here I heard him said.
I walked towards the direction of his voice and instead I saw two huge hefty men.
Who are you I asked scared.
Get her one said.
I tried running but someone place an hanky on my nose and I passed out.
