A LIAR AT THE ALTAR: CHAPTER 21 – 30

Chapter 28

“Glad to hear you say that, is not something someone like you admits.”
“Way to turn me off.”
I said pushing his back to the bed, he laughed.

“If we want us to work, you need to wait for me to tell you.”
He whispered softly.

“Soon, I promise.”

“Okay, ” I whispered.

I leaned down and nibbled on his lower lip, he groaned and pulled me closer capturing my mouth in a deep kss.

This was definitely not how I expected the apology to turn out.

I woke up to someone tugging my hair.

“What are you doing?”
I groaned at Tristan who was busy doing God knows what on my hair.

“Braiding.”

“Ouch!”
I winced at the sharp pain from his braiding.

“Almost done, relax.”
He said with a soft laugh.

I touched my hair when he was done and glared at him.

“The word is thanks.”

“For causing me pain?”
He smiled and raised my chin so he could peck me, it was slow and short.

“You look sxy. I feel like a stylist right now.”
He said staring at the hair, I rolled my eyes.

“What time is it?”
I asked, looking around the dim room.

“Past six.”
He said caressing my cheek with his thumb.
I turned to look at him.

“Is something wrong?”
He asked pausing the movement of his thumb on my cheek.

“No, I missed you.”
I smiled, resting my chin on his chest.
I placed a peck on his chest and touched his stubble, how did this happen? How did I end up falling for the person I once wanted dead for ruining my life?

“I promise to explain everything to you.”
He said softly.

“It’s fine, take all the time you need.”
He cocked a brow in surprise.

“I will wait, Mr. Sanchester.”
I moved closer and kssed his lips, he gave me a wide smile, the next words that left his mouth left me paralyzed.

“I love you, Cassie.”
I was quiet and just stared at him not saying the words back.

“It’s fine if you don’t feel the same, I just wanted you to know.”

I did but I couldn’t say it for some reason, I kssed him again not liking the silence I created.

I moved slowly on top of him, he broke the kss and looked me in the eye.

“Promise you won’t leave after knowing everything?”

“I saw you at your worst and I stayed, I won’t.”
Partly because I was broke but now, it was because of him.

He looked relieved, he took my face and kissed me passionately, he switched our position hovering over me.

Lately, a lot changed between us. I promised Tristan and Vina to lock detective Chloe away and wait for him till he was ready.

I saw a new Tristan, the Tristan I would want to spend my whole life with.
He took me on dates and forces me to visit the spa every weekend.

I quit the Yoga class since I was starting to get suspicious stares from everyone.

Tristan hired four bodyguards to guard the house, whoever was messing with him didn’t plan on stopping.

The person still succeeded in torturing him with whatever happened six years ago, he started having nightmares where he kept muttering Forgive me, Fiona.

I didn’t question him but I was there to help, I was always around to provide some comfort and to assure him he was safe. Even with the guards, the person still found a way in.

Tristan went crazy after he found a blue dress on his bed, he ripped the dress apart and refused to say a word to me that day but he hugged me tightly in his sleep.

The other day, he found some baby onesies in his room. He broke down that day, the first time I ever saw him cry. He kept spacing out that day and I almost gave up on talking to him.
It made me sad to see him so broken.

I made it my mission to catch the monster torturing him, more guards were hired but it still didn’t help.

Who the he.ll was this person? And what did he or she want?
The person had to be someone he knew, it wasn’t just anyone.

Wednesday, Tristan decided to sleep in his room. I was worried, I was scared to leave him alone.

I stayed awake in bed staring at the ceiling, was he okay? What about his nightmares?

He told me he needed some time alone I hoped he won’t harm himself.

I sat up in my bed when I heard a crash.

“Tristan?”
I ran out of my room to him.

I opened the door and found him throwing things around and cursing loudly.

“Tristan stop!”
He continued.

I docked when his laptop came my way.

“Tristan, listen to me, it’s Cassie.”
I moved closer.

I touched his shoulder, he turned around with the bed-lamp in his hand.

The bed-lamp made contact with my head before I could save myself, I welcome the darkness that surrounded me.
