A NIGHT’S MISTAKE
EPISODE NINETEEN
RYAN
I held Alex from falling as I looked at her.
“You are…?” She stammered and I nodded. The tears came rushing down and we hugged each other tightly, bursting into tears.
?????
I got to my home… Where I was supposed to be all these while and felt at home.
Though the house was not big… But knowing I was with my real family gave me so much joy.
In the living room, Alex and I sat next to each other, staring at each other.
“The birthmark.. now I understand.” Alex said smiling.
” Yeah. And the connected hearts. I can’t believe this is happening. “I said, smiling back.
Mom joined us. ” It’s almost midday. Let’s get something to eat.” She told us, smiling at us.
We were about standing up when the door opened and mom came in…. Mom who deceived me all along.
“What do you want?” Mom Darla asked, backing us protectively.
Mom Ariel stopped. “Nothing… Just wanna thank you for letting me go. You could have gotten me arrested. ” I heard her say. She looked at me and I looked away. I was surprised cos I still love her very much and I felt tears pricking my eye balls.
“Ryan… I’m sorry honey. I was desperately in need of my own son…. My own baby! But I’m not gonna cry over you for finding your family… I’m just gonna cry those times we’ve spent together as mother and son…… ” Her voice trailed off and the tears pricking my eye balls came running down.
Mom Ariel came forward and gave me a bear hug. I hugged her back.
“I love you Mom.. I’m not mad at you cos I don’t blame you.” I told her.
She nodded and smiled. ” I will come visiting when I come by. So… What are you guys gonna do about Mr Brooke… He’s your father. ” She said.
Mom Darla sat heavily in the chair. ” Where is he now?”
” He’s been released immediately… You know who he is. And he’s back home. Darla… I think he’s regretted his actions. Accept him when he comes begging. ” Mom Ariel said and got prepared to leave.
I hugged her once more before she finally left.
That night, I took my new found sister out with Mom and we had dinner in one of the big restaurant.
“Where did you get the money from?” Mom whispered happily.
” I’ve got savings mom. And I’m thinking of giving you some of the money to renovate the house. ” I said and she gasped.
” Oh…. Son…. ” She said and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back, feeling so exited.
ALEXANDER
I watched both mom and Ryan and smiled.
I was still finding it hard to believe that I had twin brother.
We ate to our fill that very night and returned home.
A day later,Ryan moved his things into the house.
The next day,we resumed school.
MARTIN
I watched Anna moved her things outside without sparing me a glance. It wasn’t as if I don’t want her to divorce me…I just felt bad,for everything I’ve done.
Daniel was moving with her.
“Do have a save trip.” I finally said and she glanced at me as she held the door knob.
“Yes and do have a save enjoyment on your money and women.” She threw back at me.
” Mom….do I really have to go with you? I’m still going through treatment.” Daniel said.
” You are fine now,Daniel. The doctor said you are back to normal. There is no need of staying here again.” She replied the boy, glancing at me with hatred.
” What about Chloe?” Daniel asked.
“She doesn’t wanna come with us but it’s fine,we will come back and get her.” Anna said and just then Chloe came downstairs, looking gloomy.
“Can’t you just sort out your differences and stay, please?” She wept.
” This man here tried to kill me! He kept me inside the closet for hours! If you didn’t notice me in there…where would I be right now?
I’M no longer save here and it’s already late too…we are divorced!” Anna yelled and walked out of the house.
” Chloe…I will come visit. Bye..dad.” Daniel said and followed her out.
I heard the car engine outside and soon she drove out of the compound.
Chloe in tears ran over to me and hugged me tight.
I closed my eyes tightly trying to fight back the tears but I just couldn’t stop it from tumbling down my cheeks.
“It’s okay baby.” I said soothingly and my mind travelled back to Darla.
Will she ever forgive me and let me talk to my son?
Will they ever forgive me??
I thought aloud without finding an answer.
But then,I decided I would go… come what may.
????????
Will Darla and her kids accept him in their lives??
