Chapter 23
“Jaden,do you love me?” She asked
Jaden turned and their gaze met. He wondered why she asked him by herself. He can’t tell her No when it’s true then start telling her yes later. This is the time to tell her who he truly is and how much he loves her.
“Elena I love you so much” He smiled
“Really?” Her face lit up with excitement
“More than you can ever imagine” He smiled
“Why do you love me?” She asked
“I love you for so many reasons. You’re kind,humble,caring,brave and independent. You’re also beautiful” He smiled and she smiled back
“Thank you”
“So now tell me why you are in disguise?”
“Okay. I’m supposed to get married soon so that my father the king can have a heir to the throne and everyone knows the kind of powers and unlimited privileges are attached to the throne of Gatrish”
“Yes”
“Unfortunately,I couldn’t get a man that loved me for me. All my suitors were after the throne and it’s power and I couldn’t help but refuse to marry them cause they’re irresponsible and I can’t allow greedy and selfish men rule my kingdom” She said
“So you came here to see if you can find someone who loves you for who you are and not what you have. Someone who has the welfare of your kingdom at heart” Jaden said
“Yes. How did you know?” Elena asked
“Because I’m here for same reason”
Elena turned to him in shock
“Same reason?” She asked
Jaden sighed
“Elena I have something to tell you? I’m-”
“Prince Derrick” She completed it for him and his eyes widened
“You know?”
“I’ve always known. I didn’t want any awkward moment so I kept it to my self. Even before you knew my true identity” She said
“Wow this is awesome”
“It is. I never knew I’ll fall in love with same guy I refused to marry” She poked his forehead playfully and he hugged her
“I love you Elena”
“I love you too” She replied as a streak of tears came down her cheeks
“I came here to find true love,someone that would love me not because of my status and position but because our heart yearn for one another and I found you. You’re my true love” Jaden said and she sniffed
“Thank you Jaden”
Kira and Stanley came and met the heartwarming scene
“Awwn this is so romantic” Kira said dabbing the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief
“So romantic” Stanley puts his hand on Kira’s shoulder
Elena pulled away from the hug and blushed
Jaden smiled
“So are you following me to Zulu to see my father the king?” He asked
“Yes” She nodded
Kira ran and hugged Elena
“Wait till the king and queen hear this?” Kira said
“Thanks”
Stanley clears his throat
“Since this is a heartwarming moment,I have something to say too” Stanley said and Elena winked at Kira
“I have something special to say to a special lady” He glanced at Kira and she bent her head
“It’s coming” Elena whispered into Kira’s ears and she blushed again
He walked over to where Kira stood
“Kira,I love you. Will you be my lady?”
Kira looked at Elena. Elena smiled and nodded
“Yes” She said and he hugged her
“Congratulations Kira” Elena said
“Thank you”
“Congratulations Cousin” Jaden hugged Stanley
“Cousin?” Kira twitched her brow
“Surprise! I’m Jaden’s cousin” Stanley said
“Which means….” Kira trailed off
“Stanley is a prince” Elena completed it
“Wh…Wh…What!” Kira exclaimed
Stanley dragged her and they left leaving Jaden and Elena again
Jaden saw tears rolling down her cheeks
“Why are you crying now?” He asked
“I’m just happy that Kira finally found someone she loves and who loves her back”
“That’s nice” He wiped her tears with his hand and took her to class.
Chris was in a corner and saw all that happened. He couldn’t get over the shock that Jaden was Prince Derrick.
He had feelings for the princess and now Jaden is taking her away from him. He won’t take that.
He was going to meet Zaki and quit this mission. He can’t harm someone he has come to love.
He realized the princess was a nice person and doesn’t deserve to die. He won’t be used by Zaki to end her life.

THE PALACE
The king was in the royal courtroom with Zaki and two other men who were also advisers to the king. One of the neighboring kingdoms just challenged their kingdom and declared a war against them.
“My noble advisers,King Remegius from the kingdom of Aram just declared war on Gatrish. I have called you all here for us to join our heads together and look for a way out” King Darius said
“That is serious my king. I suggest we propose a treaty” Caleb,one of the advisers said
“I agree your majesty. Gatrish has been peaceful ever since the war with King Rhino a year ago. We can’t afford more destruction” Ethan,another royal advisor said
“What are you all saying? Aram declared war so let’s give the war to them. Proposing a peace treaty will make them think we’re weak” Zaki said
“But it will save lives and properties” Caleb opposed
“Spare me that. We have the most powerful and most capable warriors around the seven kingdoms. We are way stronger than them so why must there be a peace treaty when we could end them once and for all” Zaki argued
“At least let us sign a peace treaty first and see if he would cooperate but if he doesn’t,then we go on with the war” Ethan said and Zaki disagreed again
Zaki already had things planned out. He had poisoned King Remegius’ mind against his brother. Telling him different lies. He was the reason this war was going to take place and his target was the princess.
“Let’s hear from our King. Your majesty,what do you think?” Caleb asked
“I agree with you Caleb. It would be wise if we propose a treaty first then wait for the next line of action” King Darius said
“But your majesty-”
“There’s no need for that Zaki” The king said and Zaki kept quiet

LATER IN THE EVENING
The princess came to the palace with Kira. She changed to her princess wears and stepped in to the royal courtroom to meet her parents.
“Good evening Father,Mother” She curtsied giving them the cutest smile
“Welcome my jewel. How have you been?” The queen pecked her forehead before she sat down
“I’m fine mother”
“Any news?” Her father asked
“Yes father”
His face lit up
“Tell us immediately” He requested
Princess Helen took her time and narrated everything to them
“I knew it” Queen Zara exclaimed
“This is an awesome news” King Darius was overwhelmed with joy
“So when are you going to see his father?” Her mother asked
“Before this month ends mother”
“We can’t wait to meet him either. Thank you princess for fulfilling your promise” The king smiled and the princess smiled back.

MASTER ZAKI’S MANSION
Zaki was pacing forth and back in his spacious living room thinking of the next step when his assistant came to inform him of Chris presence.
“Let him in” He ordered and sat down
The assistant left and Chris came in
“Why are you here Chris?” Zaki asked
Chris threw some money on the couch he was sitting
“What does this mean?” Zaki asked pointing to the money
“I quit”
