Chapter 29
Zaki watched her enjoying the drink and smiled mischievously. He will continue giving her this chocolate to make her weak for that war.
Helen finished it and licked her lips
“Thanks Uncle” She smiled
“My pleasure dear”
She looked up and saw three people. She gasped when she realized it was Jaden. They finally reached her spot and she opened her mouth in shock
“Is this you?” She touched him
“Yes it’s me”
She hugged him
“Good evening your highness” Jaden greeted Zaki
“Greetings” Zaki replied
He was wondering where he had seen that face before
“Good evening father” Tasha curtsied
“Welcome” Zaki said
“Uncle meet Prince Derrick of Zulu and his cousin Prince Stanley” Helen said excitedly
“I thought as much. I’ve been wondering where I’ve seen him before. Nice meeting you two” Zaki faked a smile
“Nice meeting you too” Stanley said
Jaden looked at Zaki and their gaze met. The way Zaki looked at him made him get goosebumps. Why does he feel like the man is up to no good?
Zaki noticed Jaden was being suspicious and smiled
“You may continue” He ordered the warriors and they started training again. He glanced at Jaden one more time and left
“Wanna spar with me?” Helen faced Stanley
“Me? Oh no”
“Go on. It will be fun” Tasha pushed him in and he was given a weapon while Jaden cheered him on
The warriors gave them space
“Please take it easy on me” Stanley begged
“I’ll try” Helen smirked and struck first but he managed to dodge
Before he could rejoice that he dodged her,she struck again,tackled him and brought him down with him begging for mercy
Kira who had been busy entered and met the scene
“Is that Stanley?” She asked
“Yup” Tasha couldn’t stop laughing
“It isn’t up to a minute and he’s already down” Jaden scoffed
“Can you do better?” Kira asked
“Yes”
“Go on then. My princess,Jaden wants to go next” Kira said
Helen left Stanley and walked over to Jaden
“You want to spar with me?” She smiled cutely
“Yes” He answered confidently and took a sword
Stanley stood up and ran to Kira
“Look at you,you can’t even defeat a woman” Kira teased him
“She is too strong” Stanley pouted and Tasha rolled her eyes
Helen and Jaden made their way to the center of the the training hall. The warriors were eager to see if this young man will defeat their princess. Although they suspected he looked familiar
“Are you ready?” Jaden asked
“I was born ready” She answered
“I’m going to take it easy on you” He smiled
She scoffed
“You better have a second thought on that” She struck first and he dodged
“Nice one princess”
“Thanks” She smiled and struck again
He dodged and he struck her which she dodged too.
They kept going with no one unwilling to back down
“This is one sweet fight. Jaden is as good in this as the princess” Tasha said
“You’re right” Kira said
Jaden saw that she wasn’t going to back down that easily so he thought of something. When she struck again,he held her sword and pulled her closer to himself
“So you won’t let me win huh?” He spoke into her ear and a chill went down her spine
“No I won’t” She managed to answer him
He used his index finger to slide down her neck sending chills down her body again
“Are you sure?” He spoke into her ears again
Helen felt all the light bulb in her head go off. She couldn’t think straight with all these he was doing to her
“Won’t you answer me?” He asked again
When he saw that his plan had worked,he kicked her sword from her hand and it landed on the floor
Helen regained herself
“You…You tricked me” She glared at him playfully
“Yeah I did. So I won” Jaden smiled and everyone laughed
“You didn’t play fair. That didn’t count” She said
“She’s right” Stanley said
“Shut up. What did you do?” Tasha faced Stanley
“At least I did something. I survived for 10 seconds” Stanley said
Tasha sighed and shook her head
“I won fair and square” Jaden said
“I’ll get you back for this” She said and he laughed
They finally dropped their weapons and walked hand in hand to the palace garden
“Where is the king?” Jaden asked
“He and mother went to see your father” Helen replied
“Is it about the war?” Jaden asked
“How did you know about the war?”
“Tasha told me. I want to help”
“Really?”
“Yes. King Remegius is full of tricky surprises. You never know what he has in store for you till you reach the battlefield”
“Wow. I might have underestimated him then”
“Yes”
“When is the war taking place?” Jaden asked playing with her hair
“The day after tomorrow. On the borders” Helen replied
“Don’t worry. You’ll win this war”
“Thanks. You are a darling”
“And you are a sweetheart” Jaden said and she smiled
She suddenly felt a slight pain in her tummy
“My tummy feels funny” She said
“Why? What happened?” Jaden asked worriedly
“I don’t know. Could it be the chocolate I took? I drank a whole bottle of it. Maybe I should have drank a little” Helen said
Something clicked in Jaden’s head
“Who gave you the chocolate?”
“Oh it’s my uncle. He always buy one for me whenever he comes to the palace”
Jaden suspected something. Could the man have added something to the chocolate? He’ll have to do some investigation on that man.
“Helen,can you do me a favor?” He asked
“Yes. Anything for you” She smiled
“Whenever he gives you a chocolate,I want you to bring it to me so we can take it together. That way,you won’t be taking too much so as to avoid stomach aches” Jaden said
“That’s a great idea. I’ll do just that. And oh you’re sleeping over today then we’ll leave for school tomorrow morning” Helen said
“No problem. As long as I get to spend sometime with you” He gave her a cute smile and she blushed

THAT SAME EVENING…
STAR CROWN COLLEGE
Chris sat outside the school premises thinking about all he had done and been through. He glanced at how he had lived his life so far as an assassin. The innocent souls he had wasted,the families he had separated. He wished he could turn back the hands of time. He wouldn’t have done those horrible things.
Who was he to even fall in love with the princess? He doesn’t deserve her so he is just going to bury those feelings and act like they were never there in the first place.
“Why don’t you stop thinking about her and focus on getting her instead?”
Chris turned and saw Ella behind him
“What are you doing here?” He asked
“I’m here to help you silly” She chuckled
“I don’t need your help” Chris snapped
“Chill okay? Don’t get all mad at me for reasons best known to you”
“Weren’t you warned not to come close to the school premises?” Chris asked
“No one cares about that. I know you like the princess and I want to help you get her” Ella said
“I’ll say it again. I don’t need your help. Stay away from me”
“I can’t stay away Chris. Not after I have fallen in love with you. Forget about all I and Mitchell with Claire did. We can have our own life” Ella said
“So you are here because of your own selfish interest right? I sensed something fishy. I should’ve known” Chris said
“Come on Chris,forget about the princess”
“I will but I won’t love you Ella so let me be” Chris stood up and walked away
Ella stomped her feet in anger. Why must everything involve only the princess? She had come using his love for the princess as backup for her own love for him but it amounted to nothing.
She walked away sadly

THE PALACE
Rita has been the palace cook since Olivia left the palace and she was coping well. She had gone out to the grocery store and was on her way back. She didn’t use the palace car today so she boarded a cab.
She stepped down from the cab and made for the gate when someone pulled her back. She screamed
“Hey cool down it’s me” The lady removed the hood of her sweater
Rita gasped in relief
“Olivia? What are you doing here? I could loose my job if I’m seen with you and worse,you might loose your life” Rita said
“I know but I’m here for a reason. I need your help?” Olivia said looking both sides
“What for?”
“The princess life is at stake”
