CHAPTER 28
“Romeo bought those flowers. He knew you would like it and sent me to bring it all the way from Italy” Blake said as he pulled out the chair for her.
“That’s kind of him” Marie muttered as she kept starring at the flowers.
“So? Are you still thinking about your answer?” Blake asked pp
“You see I know everything and when I say everything, I mean the whole thing” Blake said.
“You know that am not the real Develene but an imposter too?” She asked softly.
“Now I won’t call you an imposter, I would rather call you a blessing” Blake replied
“Why?”
“Cause you changed my friend. Before he met you he was adamant on being a bachelor and he knew nothing about love but you showed up and made him fall for you hopelessly. So what’s your answer gonna be? He also told me about the one week thing” Blake confessed with a smile on his face.
“I think that should be between me and Romeo. Am sorry if I sound rude right now but I think Romeo should be the one listening to my answers himself” she replied.
“Of course. It’s just that I was a bit curious but as you’ve said Romeo should be the one listening to the reply” Blake said not in the least bit offended.
“I will take my leave then. Lunch time is over” she said quickly not wanting to talk more about Romeo.
“He loves you Marie. This is the first time have seen Romeo in love and I can tell that he really do love you keep that in mind when you give him an answer” Blake said behind her, she gave him a nod in return before leaving his office.
Marie stood in front of the rest room mirror thinking about Blake words while washing her hands.
Two girls walked into the rest room interrupting her thoughts.
They were giggling and talking about girls stuff and Marie would have left if she hadn’t heard the content of their conversation.
?”Isn’t boss Romeo fabulous?”
?” We all know that he is and did you watch his interview last night?”
?” Of course I did but I was a bit saddened when I heard that he is in love. You know I somehow had this imagination of him dating me”
The girls giggled together and continued with their conversation not even bothered by Marie presence.
?”Do you have an idea who the girl might be?”
?”I don’t but one thing am sure of is that she must be someone great to have been able to make him fall for her”
? “A high class lady?”
? “What else if not a high class lady? Do you think someone of great wealth like him would stoop to female of our calibre?”
?”He won’t. She must at least come from a rich family like him, would have gone to a good school and would be very beautiful anything lesser than that is impossible”
?” You are right! Whoever it is must be very lucky”
Marie sighed out sadly as she watched the girls leave the rest room.
A high class lady she definitely isn’t that, growing up in the orphanage home got rid of the rich family part,a good school might be under the average and on the part of being very beautiful……. She’s a average beauty she thought.
She had been rethinking things after her conversation with Blake but this just proved to her that she and Romeo aren’t meant to be.
Romeo belongs to another world while she belongs in her world.
She thought as she threw the flowers in the bin.
Marie left the rest room but she didn’t get far when she ran back to the rest room to take the flowers.
The flowers did no harm and it didn’t deserve to be thrown away she thought as she left the rest room still cradling it in her hand.
