CHAPTER 38
~PRESENT TIME ~
“I just asked you a question!” Romeo shout out angrily which brought her back to reality.
Giving a mischievous smile, she got off his laps and sat on the couch pushing back her hair.
“How did you know I wasn’t Marie?” Develene asked.
“I know a lot about my wife and I know when someone is impersonating her” Romeo said.
“Impersonate? Don’t you think Marie should be called the impersonator here?” Develene asked.
“You asked her to pretend to be you and she did but you failed to return which got her telling us the truth. I knew full well who I got married to and so there’s no impersonation at all ” Romeo replied.
“That was your mistake! You shouldn’t have gotten married to her, I was the one you were going to marry and I was coming to you but an accident which got me comatose for months prevented that” she told him.
“Look am sorry that you got into an accident in the past but you lost your chance and now am married to Marie and I love her , so I suggest you tell me where she is” Romeo said.
“Love? It should be me you love and not her!” Develene yelled out as she stood up.
“I doubt that I would ever have fallen for you Develene so stop with this crazy act and just tell me where Marie is” Romeo demanded.
“So you want to know where she is right?” Develene asked slowly before pulling out her phone.
“Here” she said giving the phone to him.
Romeo saw a picture of Marie locked up in a room.
“Are you ¢razy Develene! What the h’ll have you done to her?” He asked looking mvrderous.
“I just sedated her for a while and don’t worry she won’t be hurt as long as you do what I want” Develene said as he made a move towards her she moved back.
“Don’t make me change my mind and make them harm her” she said now feeling frightned by the mvrderous look in his eyes.
“How will you tell them what to do when you aren’t with your phone”he asked as he threw the phone away and before Develene could run away he pulled her by her arms and pushed her on the couch.
She tried to get up but he towered over her looking like a raging bull.
“Tell me where she is?” Romeo demanded.
“I won’t! ” Develene replied.
“Do not test my patience Develene. There’s a limit to it”
“You wouldn’t really hit me! I spent days learning about you Romeo and I know that you are as gentle as a dove” she said smiling.
“Then you should keep learning cause I can be a d’vil sometimes if it’s for the woman I love” he replied raising his hands up to h!t her.
“She’s pregnant!” Immediately Develene said that he stopped.
“What?”
“Marie is pregnant with your child. I found this test result in her bag ” She said as she quickly pulled out a sheet of paper which Romeo took from her.
“She’s pregnant with your child Romeo and if anything happens to me then Marie and your unborn child dies” Develene added as she quickly move away from him.
“So if you want to keep them save then you will just have to have me around. You were mine in the first place and what’s mine I never give away ” she said and as Romeo stared up at her in anger, she dashed out of the sitting room heading to the bed room where she would feel save.
Romeo sat clutching the paper in his hands. Could it be that she was going to tell him about it this morning? Was that why she wanted them to eat at home? He should have guess and should have stayed with her.
If anything happens to Marie and his child he will die, he thought as he pulled out his phone to call Willow.

~THE NEXT DAY~
Romeo walked about in his office while waiting for Willow to arrive which happened a while later.
“Where have you been? I kept calling you through the whole night!” Romeo said.
“Am sorry but my phone wasn’t with me during that time” Willow apologised.
“Is something wrong?” Willow asked.
“Marie has been kidnapped”
“Kidnapped? But you came to the office with Marie today” Willow said.
“That isn’t Marie but Develene” Romeo returned smoothly.
“Develene? She’s back?” Willow asked shocked.
“She is and she’s stirring up trouble as soon as she arrive” Romeo replied htting the desk angrily.
“Why don’t we go and report this to the police?” Willow suggested but remembering Marie’s condition and knowing that it would put her in danger got him declining the thought.
“The police will make a fuss about things and I don’t want that but you on the other hand can help me do a better job. Am leaving this task in your hand, help me find my wife and bring her home” Romeo said and Willow nodded.
“I will do my very best In bringing Marie home ” Willow promised.

~LATER THAT DAY ~
Romeo was trying his best to go through a contract that needs signing that day when his secretary announced that he has a visitor.
“Just tell whoever it is that am busy” Romeo said.
“You won’t be too busy when I tell you what I have to tell you” Charles said suddenly and when his secretary excused them both he gave him his full attention.
“And to what do I owe this visit?” Romeo asked..
“This has to do with Marie” Charles replied
“What about Marie?” Romeo asked.
“The lady with us right now isnt Marie right?” Charles asked suddenly.
