After a while still searching Christiana things but they found nothing,
“You haven’t searched that bag, there’s an inner bag by the side, Dembe said pointing to a traveling bag and Ochen put his hand by the side and brought out a nylon.
“What’s that? Bale asked and went nearer while Ochen opened it and brought out jewelries and some amount of money from it showing it to them.
“That isn’t mine, ma please I don’t know where that is from, Christiana said.
“Shut up! Bale shouted on her and Dembe got the bag from Ochen.
“This are my jewelries, Christiana why? Is there anything I didn’t give to you? Dembe asked while Christiana was on her knees shaking her head.
“Ma please I can’t do that believe me, she cried.
“What should we believe? Your mom was so disappointed with you that she drove you out when you got pregnant, despite your innocent looks and everything who will ever believe you have been fking for 3 good months.
And now this, with all the evidence tell me Christiana, what should we believe? Bale asked.
“You know I didn’t do this, you know you put it there yourself to back mail me as you’ve always been…… “Enough Christiana! One more word from you and you will hate me for life, Dembe shouted on her.
“Mom are we still listening to her? She just proved that she is not changed and not fit to stay with us, let her return back to her family, if she can steal from you then she is capable of doing more, Bale said.
“No! Ma please don’t do this to me, Christy said.
“I don’t want to see you in my house when I get back, get your things and leave my house, Dembe said and left the room immediately.
“Ma please no! I didn’t do this I swear, Christiana cried and went to Ochen but he stood silent not knowing what to do.
“I’m sorry, Ochen whispered and left her room too while Bale looked at her smiling.
“You have 5 minutes to leave, you are lucky she let you go with your bags because you only came here With your filthy self! Bale shouted and shut the door behind her while Christiana screamed out hitting the floor.
Ochen went to his mom and met her about leaving the house,
“Mom were you serious when you said Christiana should leave before you get back? He asked.
“Yes and if I get back here and still find her in my house, I’ll get her arrested, she replied.
“But mom don’t you think…….. ‘Not another word Ochen, she cut him short and left the house and Bale coughed behind him.
“Don’t tell me you are still speaking for that thief, Bale said.
“We all know she is not a thief, Ochen said.
“That’s good, then I’ll call mom and tell her you are ready to confess you stole the money instead, because I am beginning to wonder who did, Bale said.
“I am wondering that too, perharps another person knew about the money and did a set up. What ever you are doing Bale, just know that it is wrong, Ochen said and wanted to walk away but Bale held him back.
“What do you mean by that? He asked.
“You heard me well, I hope you are now satisfied she is finally leaving, take a deep breathe now and move on! Ochen shouted and left for his room and Bale angrily stormed into Christiana room and met her still crying.
“Time up and is time for you to leave. Get Out! Bale shouted and dragged her bag outside while Christiana cried following him behind.
Ochen hearing the noise came out and met with Bale throwing the bag outside,
“What are you doing? He shouted.
“Don’t you dare say a word, you heard what mom said before she left, don’t tell me you want to go against her word, Bale said.
“must you throw her things out? Ochen asked.
“I am helping her with her bags and if I see her in this building when I’m done with the bags, she will be next.
You better advise her to start leaving, because not even you will stop me when i will kick her like a ball outside, Bale said and went in bring another bag and Ochen slowly went to Christiana who weighed herself on the wall holding her tummy.
“I’m sorry, I wish there’s anything I can do to help, he said.
“No please its fine, and thanks for everything. I guess its time for me to go and I believe its for the best, but I’ll never forget you and your mother for the kindness you’ve shown to me.
I’m grateful honestly i am, she said and Bale came out with 2 more bags and threw it outside.
“Enough love birds, now leave! Bale shouted.
“I can only take a bag please, can the rest stay here? She asked.
“No bch, so you’ll come back huh? Take your stench and everything about you and leave! Bale shouted and Ochen wanted hitting him but Christiana held him.
“No please is not necessary, bye Bale, Christiana said and walked out and Ochen followed her outside.
“Where will you be going to now? He asked.
“My mom place, that’s my only hope now and I pray she forgives me because I’m almost due, She replied and he looked down at he tummy.
“Do you have any money on you? He asked and she shook her head.
“Wait for me, he said and went in but Bale blocked him on the way.
“Where do you think you are going to huh? As your senior I am commanding you not to step your foot outside! Bale said.
“Get out of my way, Ochen sternly said.
“What will you do? Fight With me? Common I’ll love to see that, at least it will be recorded in history we had our first fight because of a pregnant bch. I’m sure mom will be so happy to hear that, Bale said and Ochen bite his lips looking at him and calmed down.
“Look is just a transport fare to take her down to her mom place, have some conscience okay, Bale said.
“Let her use the money she has been stealing from mom, she can’t tell me she doesn’t have spare notes with her, Bale said and Christiana was hearing all of that.
She remembered Dembe do give her little money which she always save, she brought out the dress she put it and saw it was barely enough to take her home.
“I’ll manage this, she said and took a traveling bag.
“Good bye Ochen, don’t worry i can manage and I’ll be fine, she said and slowly left while Bale smiled at Ochen.
“Won’t you say something to your love? He asked but Ochen angrily went back to his room and Bale burst out laughing.
“Finally she’s gone! He said and let himself freely on the sofa……….
” I don’t understand why she wants to see you when we have a lot to do today, Cynthia said when Mukasa was about leaving.
“I know but i won’t stay long, I just want to see her and rush back quickly. Bye love, he said giving her a peck and left.
Walking down the street dragging a bag, Christiana tears kept pouring as all eyes were on her and her protruded belly.
The stares she got from people was not her problem, but she was more disturbed as she thought of how far she will trek and wondered if her mother will have mercy and have her back.
On the way she felt a sharp pain and stopped using the other hand to support her tummy, she looked around for a place to sit but shook her head and continued.
The pain came again and she stopped breathing hard,
“What’s going on? She asked looking around her as there was traffic on the road, and the horn from the cars looks like it was increasing the pain for her.
Mukasa who was on a call heard a woman in the cab talking,
“Looks like that girl is in trouble, she said looking through the window and Mukasa turned and was shocked to see who it was.
“Help, help please, Arrhhh! Christiana shouted going down and few people were seen approaching her.
“Christiana? Mukasa called out and quickly stepped down from the cab and paid the driver, then he ran to Christiana who was crying and screaming louder.
“Christiana! Mukasa shouted and carried her up.
“Do you know her? A man asked.
“Yes i do, and as you can see she in in labour, I need to get her to the hospital, he replied.
“Here come in, a man said opening the door and he went in with Christiana……..
