The next morning Mukasa who slept in a nearby guest house quickly arrived in the hospital and called up Cynthia to know where she is but she didn’t pick up.
“Mukasa, so early? His friend asked coming out to meet with him.
“Yes I have to, I was scared she might wake up, he replied shaking hands with him..
“Alright, so are you good to go? Because a nurse told me she briefly woke up which is a sign that she is recovering and may be up anytime soon, his friend said.
“Is that so? That’s not good then…. I mean does she know anything? He asked.
“Well from the nurse, she got to know she gave birth to a girl, his friend replied.
“Then I won’t waste any more time here, can I have her please? Mukasa asked and His friend slowly walked away which Mukasa silently followed behind.
They got into the room and met a lady attending to the baby,
“Thank you, Mukasa said carrying the baby from her after she was done dressing her up.
“Take care of her, and where is your wife? His friend asked.
“On the way, I think she will meet with Me at my aunt place because I can’t wait for her here, Mukasa replied and slowly brought out some notes from his pocket to his friend.
“What for? His friend asked.
“Give it to Christiana, and thanks for everything. Bye friend, he said.
“Bye, his friend said and Mukasa carefully left with her.
“Sorry doctor but who is he? The lady who attended to the baby asked.
“Her father, he Came to take his daughter, he replied.
“Oh okay, she said and the doctor left the room to his office.

Few minutes later he arrived at his aunt place and she happily got the baby from him,
“She is too sweet, welcome my love, she said covering her properly and looked at Mukasa who sat down sadly.
“What’s wrong? She asked..
“Just imagining how she will feel when she wakes up, I know she will be hurt but then this is the right thing. She is better with me not her, she won’t be able to train her and I hope she understand, he replied.
“Okay fine, what will you call her? She asked.
“Abigail, he replied.
“That’s sweet, and where is your wife? She asked.
“I called her earlier but she didn’t pick up, she should be on the way by now, he said and called her line again.
“Hello babe, she picked up with a sleepy tone.
“You’re still sleeping? I thought you should be on your own by this time, he said checking the time to see it was 8.30a.m.
“Excuse me, do you know how am feeling now? Do you know how stressed up I am taking care of things and packing things up over here? She asked.
“Alright fine I’m sorry, but we are no more in the hospital and don’t bother to go there. Just come to my aunt place with your things, and please get some few baby wears for her as you’re coming, he said.
“You mean you’ve carried her away already? She asked sitting up.
“Yes and she’s with my aunt, he replied.
“Then what are you still doing there? Shouldn’t you be here to start parking before she storms in here? Cynthia asked.
“I know, that’s why I’m waiting for you to meet with me here, he said.
“You don’t have to wait for me, just start coming I’m sure your aunt can take care of her before i get there.
Don’t waste any time, be on the way while I’ll prepare to leave, she said and dropped the call and sighed scratching her head.
“Aunt I have to go take over things here, you know we were to relocate today before this came up, I need to get the truck ready, Mukasa said.
“No problem, but then please tell your wife to bring in some things for the baby.
You just brought her empty and there’s a lot I need to take care of her which isn’t here and i don’t have it either, his aunt said.
“I know aunt, I’ll call her up again and transfer some money to her to shop for that, he said.
“Do you need to buy? You didn’t get your baby things? I mean the baby you’re expecting with your wife, she said..
“No we didn’t, she wanted doing that after we’ve relocated, he replied.
“Alright, be careful and safe journey, she said.
“Thanks aunty, bye, he said and hurriedly left the house………

Christiana opened her eyes and looked around her for a while but she was alone.
“Anyone here? Where is my baby? She asked and attempted to remove the drip on her to get down but the door opened and Mukasa friend walked in.
“You’re awake? He asked and she recognised him.
“You? She asked pointing at him..
“Sorry what’s the matter? He asked.
“Nothing just that i think I’ve seen you before, I think you were the doctor who was about to ermmm…. Never mind. Please how is my baby and where is she? Christy asked.
“Errmmm let’s talk about you first, are you still feeling weak? He asked back.
“I am fine, though just a little pains but I can manage. What about my daughter? Why is she not by my side?
She asked and He scratched his head.
“You see…. Before i forget, do you know who brought you here? He asked.
“No, and who could that be? I need to thank that person, She said.
“well its the Same person who brought you here for an abortion, I guess that was what you wanted telling me right? The doctor asked and her mouth flew open.
“Mukasa brought me here? Please where is my child? Did he know I gave birth? Oh Christ why should it be him, Christiana said worried and the doctor sat by her side to calm her down.
“You don’t have to be scared, Mukasa decided to take responsibility of the child, he felt it will do you good and take your life back to normal, he said and her eyes bulged out.
“Wait wait I don’t understand, what responsibility are you talking about? By the way why are you bringing up things when i want to see my baby, what’s going on! She shouted.
“Calm down Christiana, truth is he insisted to carry your baby and I couldn’t stop him because he’s the father and has the right to his daughter.
Your daughter is in safe hands where she will be properly taken care of, so I’ll advise you Christiana, use this chance and do something good for yourself so this mistake won’t repeat itself again
The doctor said and Christiana sat shock with tears streaming down her eyes.
“He took my child away? You mean Mukasa took my child away from me when I didn’t see her or agree to this?
What have l ever done to him? What sin did i commit to God that he made me know him? Did i tell him i won’t be able to take care of my child? And what right does he have over the child he denied, neglected and hated?
I suffered for her, I bore the pains for her, and yet i couldn’t see her face, I don’t even know how she looks like neither was i able to carry her despite all my suffering, now you sit here to tell me rubbish!
Where is my daughter? Give me back my daughter! Christiana shouted and violently held the doctor shirt tight.
“Christiana, I understand, but then you’ll agree with me you need nothing more than to see your child happy and living well. That’s all mothers wish for their children.
But look at you, you barely have a place to stay, how will you survive with that baby?
What kind of life will you give to that child? You will be exposing her to danger and Mukasa didn’t want that.
I am not justifying his actions, but he insisted to take his baby and i couldn’t do anything after all he’s the father and he has good intentions for her, I’m sorry, the doctor said and freed himself from her but Christiana screamed wildly continuously that got everyone scared………….
