Cynthia read the text and threw the phone in anger,
“You must be joking Pius, I can’t lose in both sides.
I left Mukasa for you and I won’t stand by and watch Achen take you away, I don’t bIoody care if she’s your wife and my best friend, my daughter won’t be caught up in this mess! Cynthia shouted breathing hard and took her phone back.
“This isn’t over yet, don’t try to mess with me, she texted back.
Pius returned with a tray and served Achen while she looked at him,
“Why? Do I look bad? Sorry I’m sweaty I’ll go clean up, he said.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you then, she said and he pecked her and left.
Achen still wasn’t convinced as she saw Pius was ignoring a particular call and the way he was so serious using the phone in the kitchen when she went in arouse her suspicion more.
She stood up and went to the kitchen and saw his phone there, she saw it was off and she switched it on.
She checked his call log but saw only his business calls, suddenly the message popped in and she read it.
“Cynthia? She recognised her number because he didn’t saved it on his phone.
She checked his inbox and saw series of debit from his bank and she wondered who the money is going to.
She deleted the message from Cynthia and switched off the phone and went back to the dinning.
Pius came out and met her there and she weakly gave a smile,
“So shall we eat now? I’m getting hungry, she said.
“Yea sure, he said and uncovered the food himself.
“Uhmmm yummy! She said.
“Yea have a taste and tell me what you think, he said scooping a spoon into her mouth and she nodded.
“Delicious, She said.
“Wow what a relief, let’s eat then, he said and concentrated on his food while Achen looked at him.
“I’m no fool Pius, I just hope my suspicion about you turns out to be wrong else you’ll be sorry, she said in her heart ………..

Bale visited Christiana in the class after she left Regina,
“Hey how are you faring in your new class? He asked.
“Good good, the children here are so lovely and I have no problem with them, she replied.
“That’s good to know, I brought you snacks for your lunch, he said giving her a bag.
“You didn’t have to do this, I just ate barely 3 hours ago and besides is not yet Afternoon for lunch, she said taking the bag.
“Well I thought you should take something now the children are out, you may not have the opportunity again, he said.
“Thank you so much, she said.
“You’re welcome, alright I’ll go now but when once the school is over, I’ll come pick you myself okay, he said.
“Yes sir, she said playfully and Bale laughed and left the class.
Shortly after Christiana left Regina class, she began to cry again with her head still covered on the desk.
“Hey you! Will you stop distracting me else I’ll beat you hard! The teacher shouted.
“But I’m hungry, she said.
“So what! Didn’t your parents know they were to give you snacks for lunch? Don’t let me hear your voice again or you go out there and beg for snacks to eat, she said.
“But i don’t want to, Regina said.
“Then shut up! She shouted and Regina began to cry more and she stood up to Approach her which Regina stood up ready to run.
“Get out of my sight now! She shouted pointing to the door and Regina slowly walked away crying.
Christiana heard her voice despite the children running around playing and she shook her head.
“This child case is getting out of hand, so annoying, Christiana head teacher said.
“You don’t have to say that, maybe she’s hungry, Christy said and took a wrap of meat pie Bale bought for her.
“I’ll be back please, Christy said and left the class to look for Regina.
She found Regina squatting somewhere crying alone and Christy went to her,
“What’s wrong with you? Are you hungry? She asked and Regina nodded.
“I haven’t eaten since morning, she replied.
“Where are your parents? Christy asked.
“My dad doesn’t have money and my mommy left him, she replied and Christy nodded.
“I’m sorry about that, you can have this, she said but Regina shook her head.
“I don’t take things from people i don’t know, Regina said.
“But you’re hungry, don’t tell me you’ll stay this way till 2pm, common baby you’ll starve and it is not poisoned i promise you, Christy calmly said and she looked at her.
“I don’t like it here I want to go, she said.
“Baby your father can’t afford the bills of other school, can you understand with him please. You can still learn here and beat your classmates over there, Christy said and Regina sniffed and said nothing and the bell was heard.
“The break is over, take this to your class okay you can eat that later, she said giving her the wrap and she slowly took It.
“Thank you, Regina said and slowly left for her class while Christiana looked at her for a while and left for the class…..

Cynthia kept calling Pius number when she saw an alert from him but it was still switched off, she checked the time and saw its time to pick Catherine from school.
She stood up to leave but felt so dizzy and suddenly felt like throwing up.
She rushed to the bathroom and emptied herself and looked at the mirror before her,
“This isn’t right, I shouldn’t be pregnant now, she said thinking hard.
“I don’t know who is the father of this baby I’m carrying now, but one thing I know is Pius you alone will take responsibility of this baby whether you like it or not. I’ll use this to pin you down and have you all for myself, she said smiling wickedly and left to pick Catherine………

The bell was heard and the children shouted happily in the class, while Christiana smiled at them as she watched him packing their book into their bags ready to go home.
‘Hello miss, shall we go now? Bale asked standing by the door.
“Yes sure, bye ma see you tomorrow, she said waving to the head reacher.
“Bye Christy see ya, bye sir, the head teacher said and she left with Bale.
“Looks like you’re having fun here, he said on their way going to where Bale parked his car.
“Yes. i don’t know, i feel so free here, and thanks for everything, for giving me this job and for helping the kids out, she said.
“Its nothing, let’s go, he said opening the door for her and he drove off.
“By the way i enjoyed the snacks, though i didn’t eat it alone, she said.
“I’m aware of that because I didn’t see you with the bag, and i know you’re not a basket to take in all that i got for you, she said and Christy laughed………..
