Bale came out from where he stood and his mom saw him,
“Where you there all this while? Dembe asked.
“Yes, Ochen is in love with Christiana? He asked and she heaved.
“Mom you can’t let that happen, he said.
“And why? Your brother has made his choice, she said.
“But I love her too! He dropped and Dembe looked at him.
“You love her? Are you kidding me? Dembe asked and Bale sat down beside her.
“That’s why I wanted her when she was here, but she never looked at My face and i made the wrong move when I acted like I was sxually as$aulting her, but that wasn’t my intention. Please you can’t let this happen, Bale said and Dembe shook her head.
“What are you saying? How do you call that love when you hated her so much Bale, is that your definition of love when you were constantly hurting her? I don’t just want Ochen to involve himself with her complicated life, I want my son to be happy with someone more better and I feel it wont be with her, Dembe said.
“But you can’t let this happen still, she is not good for him or better still, she is not good for us, Bale said and Dembe smirked.
“Maybe for now she isn’t, but the future is pregnant that we are uncertain of, she may be good for him tomorrow and i won’t have any problem with that, Good night, Dembe said and left for her room.
“Its not over yet Christiana, even if I don’t have you no one else will have you, I just want to see you that way that’s all, he said in his heart and drank the water he was holding……….

That night Christiana couldn’t sleep, she was restless on bed and finally left to the sitting room and Jendyose met her there.
“Thinking about Ochen? I heard your discussion with him, She said.
“I don’t know mom, after 4 years will everything still be the same between us? Christy asked.
“The last thing I will want for you now Christiana is to fall in love, I need you to concentrate and face the path ahead of you.
Okay just look at you, you are unable to sleep just because he’s leaving, you are too weak in love and I’ll advise you to drop whatever you are feeling for now so you won’t make another grave mistake, Jendy said and she nodded.
“You’re right, nothing good comes out from love anyway, she said.
“Are you serious? I am not asking you to hate love, don’t just entertain it for now, Jendy said.
“Okay mommy I’ve heard you, why are you not sleeping? Christy asked.
“Because i felt you are still awake, she replied and Christy laughed.
“Alright then let’s go sleep, Christy said leading her in………

Cynthia phone began to ring and she picked it up immediately and saw Mukasa sleeping tiredly.
She stood up from the bed and wondered who is calling as she checked the time,
“Hello? She picked up going to the sitting room.
“How is my baby doing? She heard and quickly recognized the voice.
“What’s wrong with you Pius and why can’t you leave me alone? She asked.
“Why do you keep pushing me away like I’m doing anything wrong? He asked.
“But you can’t do this, I am married, she replied.
“Does it matter? You used me Cynthia and how is that fair? He asked.
“I’m sorry, that period I had a fight with my boyfriend and I thought it was over but then he came back and I couldn’t resist him, she replied.
“And what about me? You dumped me like no man business right? He asked.
“I’m sorry Pius, but then aren’t you getting married? She asked.
“How did you know that? He asked.
“Ermmm someone told me, but please settle down with her and leave me in peace i beg you, Cynthia replied.
“Can I see you again? And I promise I’ll let you be, he said.
“I’m heavily pregnant now and I can’t go far, she said.
“Heavily pregnant? But you just recently got married how come? He asked.
“Ermmmm I was pregnant before I got married, she replied and he scoffed.
“Cynthia you were with me and of course it was just a month after you broke up with me that you got married, why are you heavily pregnant Cynthia? He asked.
“Can you just stop it now? Do Yuh think I’m carrying your baby? Cynthia asked.
“Alright congratulations then to you, so we can’t still see right? He asked.
“Maybe but not now, she replied..
“Honey you’re still awake? Cynthia heard Achen voice in the background.
“Alright Clement thanks for the call, I hope to see you on my wedding right? Pius asked and Cynthia understood.
“Yes sure, good night, Cynthia said and dropped the call immediately and heaved.
“Hi babe, you’re still awake? He asked touching Achen.
“i just woke up to see you were not in bed, Who were you talking with on phone? You sounded so serious, Achen said.
“My friend, my long time childhood friend. He heard of my wedding and called to congratulate me, he replied.
“Oh alright then, so are you going back to bed now? She asked.
“Yea sure, he replied holding her waist to the room……..

The next day Mukasa left for work and noticed there was a problem there,
“What’s going on? He asked his fellow staff.
“There’s a rumour that the company will be relieving some of the staffs today, especially those recently employed here, he replied.
“Why? I mean why should he do that? Mukasa asked.
“We have a new boss now and unfortunately he is not as generous like the former. So he said he can’t pay all the workers that’s why he will be relieving them, another replied and Mukasa looked at him worried and sat down..
“I don’t want to lose this job please, he silently prayed in his heart and Immediately a man walked in to address the workers and Mukasa stood up looking at him anxiously after he was greeted.
“Good morning everyone, and I’m not surprised rumors spreads fast a lot, and I’m kind of relieved most of you knows what I’m about to say which won’t be difficult for me.
I don’t want you to feel bad or think its the end of the world, you can always get another job else where and life will still continue.
But I’m so sorry, i have already screened all the workers here and selected the ones eligible to work here, while the rest will be relieved of their duty, already there are enough staffs and I wonder what my dad was thinking when he employed so much in a small company like this.
I have been visiting once in a while and saw most of you guys are just relaxed with no duties and at the end of the month you’ll be paid, sorry to spoil the fun, you will have to work for your money for that’s how things are done.
So the affected ones will be receiving their dismissed papers soon, and also those eligible will be given the right duty post to handle.
Please take heart and thank you, he dropped and left and the workers looked at themselves.
“This won’t be easy I tell you, I thought I heard it was only for the new employed, a lady said.
“Same here, now i have to join them to worry, a man said while Mukasa covered his head on the desk.
A man came out shortly from the boss office,
“Listen up everybody, please come get your different letters as I call out your name, he said and the hall was silent as the letters was shared to everyone.
Mukasa shakily opened his envelope and a tear dropped from his eyes when he saw what was written on the letter, a fellow worker saw it and patted him on his shoulder.
“Be strong okay, he whispered.
“Be strong? I have a baby and a pregnant wife to take care of, where will I start? Mukasa asked……….
