Episode 78.
Pius sat in his car for minutes without driving, for the first time it occurred to him how useless and irresponsible he was to his family,
“This is all my fault, this is all my fault! He shouted as he flashed back to everything that happened in the past.
He drove down to the hotel Achen booked in and met the receptionist.
“Sorry if you don’t mind I will love to ask you some questions, its important, Pius said.
“I’m sorry I don’t know if I can answer the questions but if its safe I will try, she said.
“About a week ago a lady lodged in here with a small girl, Mrs Achen Pius, can you remember a name like that? He asked.
“Ermmm a minute please, she said going through the computer.
“Yes yes she was here, but not anymore, she finally said.
“That’s right she’s my wife and she’s in the prison as we speak, he said.
“Ouch sorry about that, but how can I help? She asked.
“She’s accused of ki lling someone on the exact day she lodged in here, can I please know the exact time she booked in here? He asked.
“Okay, she said and checked.
“It was very late, 12: 50a.m, she replied.
“Thank you, and she never left the hotel to anywhere right? I mean was there any suspicion when she stayed here? He asked.
“No no she was always with her little girl, she replied.
“Thank you, He said and left the hotel.
He called up the cab guy who was attacked when he carried Cynthia,
“Hello, where are you now? Pius asked when he picked up.
“I’m at home, why? He asked.
“I’m on the way, Pius replied and dropped the call.
Minutes later he arrived at his place and the cab man welcomed in,
“I hope everything is okay? He asked when Pius sat down and had a glass of water.
“Not at all, Akello has been set free, Pius replied.
“But why? He asked.
“He finally spoke out and implicated my wife to be the ki ller, to him my wife asked him to get Cynthia because she was keeping his gvn and he had to get it from her. He had no choice than to get Cynthia while she ki lled her without his notice, Pius replied.
“That’s stupid and it doesn’t add up to me, he was with a gun, he pointed a gvn at me so what gvn is he talking about she held? The cab man asked.
“He pointed a gvn at you? Pius asked.
“Yes of course, what made me almost urinate in my boxer when I saw a live gvn for the first time, he replied.
“Can you please tell me the time this happened if you can remember, Pius said.
“That was few minutes past 7pm, he replied and Pius remembered he was at home at that time when Achen drove in tired before the time he mentioned. And she left the house that mid night according to the gateman, she left at past 12a.m which she drove straight to the hotel and booked there for the night.
The picture of Cynthia body flashed on his head and With her appearance when he saw her body, she was dead for hours before the people found her in the morning.
“Hey what are you thinking? The cab man cut him from his thoughts.
“Then Akello lied, my wife is innocent, she didn’t do it but he did and he has to explain to everyone how Achen is the ki ller of Cynthia, Pius replied.
“What are you going to do now? He has been released and………. “And Cynthia will be taken to court to face her sentence, I need to get a good lawyer for her, Pius interrupted him.
“But have you talked with your wife? What’s her say in this allegations? He asked.
“She is not saying anything but she has to because this situation is difficult else she’ll go to jail, Pius replied.
“Gosh this is bad! The cab man said shaking his head.
“Anyway thank you, I have to go home now, Pius said shaking hands with him and left……..

The next day Jendy came out with Regina well dressed and Christiana wondered where they are going to,
“We want to go out, are you jealous? Jendy replied her.
“Hmm its okay o, don’t stay long please the house will be bored, Christy said.
“Bye mommy, Regina said.
“Bye love, and don’t eat too much because i know you will, Christy said and Jendy Carried her out.
Christiana rolled her eyes and laid down on the couch, minutes later a knock came on the door and she woke up.
“Who’s there? She asked going to the door but there was no reply.
“Mommy? She asked keeping her hand on the handle of the door scared to open up but the knock came again.
“Who’s there can’t you talk? She asked.
“Its me Christiana, a strange voice replied and she slowly opened up and her eyes bulged out.
“Ochen? She asked surprised.
“Yes Christiana, can I come in? He asked and she nodded opening the door for him..
“You didn’t tell me you’ll be coming, what can i offer you please? She asked.
“Where’s mom and Regina? He asked.
“They went out few minutes ago, she replied and he nodded looking at her.
“How are you Christiana? He asked.
“I’m fine, and you? She asked back.
“I can’t tell, he replied and she sat down.
“Is there a problem? She asked.
“Yes and its you that’s why I’m here. I once told you I love you Christiana and you didn’t say anything, I’m here to hear your response to that, he said and Christiana scratched her head.
“Seriously is that why you’re here? She asked.
“Is that not a good reason for me to be here? Common Christiana this is my feelings we are talking about here, maybe it doesn’t mean anything to you but it does to me. Please let my mind be settled, for right now I’m in a fool paradise. I want to know if I should keep loving someone who will never love me or move on with my life? He seriously asked and Christiana was weak.
“Ochen you deserve better, why should you love someone like me? She asked.
“It wasn’t in my power to chose, but if my heart chose you i believe you are the better one for me, he replied.
“Ochen, Christy whispered and slowly sat beside him,
“Ochen I really don’t know what to say, but I’m so sorry I’ve been you hurting you all this while. I tried shutting away this feelings for years now because I felt you deserve better, and anytime i think about it I get angry with my self why I lost someone like you. But I Never did, you were just here still i couldn’t bring myself to accept it even when I’m longing for this so badly.
Yes Ochen I love you, I always did and I will always do, Christiana said and Ochen smiled taking her hand..
“Please say that again, he said.
“I love you Ochen, i really do, Christy said and Ochen kssed and hugged her tightly as Christiana cried on him………….
