CHAPTER 10

MITCHELL’S HOME.
Mitchell took a cab home. She didn’t want to take Liam’s car any longer.
She had gotten upset and tired of his ‘hard to get’ plays.
She tiredly walked to her balcony and searched for the key to her door by the nursery plant on her doorstep.
Knowing it wasn’t where she used to keep it, she supposed that ray was home already.
She had showed him where she usually kept the keys incase she came home later, time like this.
She pulled the door open and walked in, turning on the wall light.
The room was neat and in a good condition unlike how she had left it this morning.
She smiled, taking off her cold cloak off her body. She was glad she had an hardworking tenant like Ray.
A good smell was coming from the kitchen. She dropped her bag on the sofa and ran towards the kitchen quickly.
” You are back, Mitchell.” Ray smiled like a sweet father happy to see his long lost kid.
” Hey!. Seems like i came home at the right time. What are you cooking?” She asked, coming to stand at his side.
He turned his pot over.
” Just some egg sauce and toast. JUST FOR ME ALONE.” Ray said and Mitchell laughed.
” This is my kitchen remember?. Plus, You are also using my pots and spoon”
” Ugh. Fine. You win.” He said and she jumped up joyfully.
She brought out a fork and a spoon and clacked it against eachother in a noisy way, waiting for him to drop meal on her plate.
He turned off the cooking gas and turned to her.
” Food will wait.” He said and she gasped at him.
” So how was work today?” He asked and she frowned.
” So bad. Even, I don’t wanna talk about it.” She said finding her way to sit on the dinning.
” Why?. Did something happened?” He asked.
” I just said i don’t want to talk about it, okay?” She said playing with her fork on her empty plate.
” Gosh. Who’s that boss that made My Mitchell?. What does he do….Tell me about him?” He asked.
” Why do you want to know about him?” She raised her gaze at him.
” Well, just felt like i should know him. ” He said and leaned in on the table to meet her face more closely.
” Well…His name is Liam cole. He owns this big designing company. The popular one. He has his brands everywhere.”
” Oh, Yeah, yeah. That guy.” He nodded his head. “I’m sure you must know more than that, right?. Tell me more.” He said.
” Let’s eat. I don’t want to talk about him anymore.” She said and Ray sighed, leaning up from the table.
He knew he couldn’t force her to tell him everything in order not to seems suspicious.
He brought down the plate of food and placed it on the table.
He plated their dinner and they ate hurriedly like they had been starved for days.
When they were done, Mitchell assisted in clearing the plates.
Minute later, Ray brought out a game consoler just to avoid being a boring.
He joined Mitchell on the sofa and pressed a button on the remote and the channel changed.
” Hey!. What’s your issue!” Mitchell yelled standing on her feet to face him.
” Wanna play a game?” He asked and she took the game gadget, smiling hard at him.
” Sure, but. If i win, you’ll run the bills in the house for the rest of the days here.”
Ray stood up as well.
” And if i win, we’ll share a room all through the night I’ll be here.” He winked at her and Mitchell gaped at him.
He was one crazy baboon.
They sat on the floor and started playing a game with both eyes glued to the screen.
The two player’s were so focused on the game that even an annoying fly couldn’t beat them out from their concentration.
Mitchell felt her bladder get full. She wanted to pee but didn’t want to also leave the game as well.
She wanted to beat this lazy rabbit and get relieved from the house bills for over a week.
Ray as well wanted to win in order to spend his night next to her on his bed everyday. How fun it would make him feel.
They bit their lips hard and the games reached its apex.
Ray was still playing when Mitchell suddenly stood up, dropping the consoler and running towards the guest toilet.
He looked at her wondering why she left the game unfinished. He shrugged and continued on his game.
This was one golden opportunity for him and he wasn’t going to run after her.
The game finally finished with a loud victory sound.
” Hey. I won.!. I won!. Bitch…come see yourself!” Ray hijacked his arm in the air with victory.
Mitchell stepped out of the bathroom and slumped her shoulder, holding her stomach.

Mitchell brought her blanket and threw it on Ray’s face where he was laying on the large king sized bed.
” Move away. I don’t want our skin to brush.” She said and Ray chuckled.
She tied her hair in an ugly bun before joining him on the bed.
” We can still play tomorrow again and make another bet, right?”
” No. I hate the game!” She yelled and Ray throated another chuckle.
She raised the duvet abover her waist and decided to rest her head for the day. It was friday so she would be free from work the next following days.
Soon, Ray came over and cuddled her gently. She began to rough ki¢k him.
” Shh. Sleep and dream about me.” He said and she found herself, widening her eyes the more.

LIAM’S MANSION.
Liam was sitting on his usual sofa, tapping his feet and sighing hard. It past nine and may hadn’t returned home.
Soon, the door opened slowly and May walked in. He heard her heels clack in the livingroom as he moved close to him.
” Good evening.” She said and held tight to her handbag, walking past him.
” Stop” he ordered, darkening his eyes at her.
She stopped and shut her watery eyes, waiting to hear his next word.
” The rain didn’t fall today. What’s your excuse now?” He asked, standing to his feet.
She bit her lips so hard, causing her veins to pop around her head.
” You don’t even care to know where i work. You don’t even care if I’m comfortable taking cabs and power bikes. You are only concerned at when I’m home. It’s just not fair!” She sniffed, clearing her wet eyes.
He walked up to her and made her face him.
” What’s not fair about me May. You know, I’m not suppose to be concerned about your going and coming. Maybe, I’m just troubling myself.”

” Then don’t stop me!. I’m a human too. I deserve to move and live a life the way i want.” She yelled.
” Did you just…yell at me?” He asked and she bit her lips again.

” You heard me right. If you think I’m not soecial then you are not. If don’t want me anymore then i don’t want you too.” She said, folding her hands as her tears failed to stop.
He stared down at her, breathing heavier than before. It was as if everything happening was in a black and white scene.

He didn’t say any more words again and so, she began to walk towards the stairs.
Ms Lily came out from the kitchen and heaved a tough sigh as she watched the two couples.
