CHAPTER 8
NIGHT. ?MITCHELL HOME.
Mitchell was standing by the mirror and was brushing her foaming teeth.
Her phone rang from the side of the sink where she had kept it and she picked it up quickly.
” Hello?. Who’s this.” She asked
” Sorry,This is ray…”
” Ugh!!.” She grunted and cut the call instantly. She threw her phone aside.
She continued brushing her teeth without bothering her head on why that stranger kept disturbing her on a call.
Suddenly she heard a knock on the window of her livingroom. She walked up to her livingroom and saw his reflection.
The Ray guy was waving at her happily from the transparent window. She drew down her curtains and rested her backs on it.
” This guy is a huge freak!.” She yelled and ran towards the kitchen.
She scanned around on what to use on him and her gaze struck a sharp knlfe glittering at the edge.
Ray continued tapping his knuckles on the large windows and she opened it up, hiding the knlfe behind her pocket.
Ray flew in and began to off his cold jacket.
” Geez. It’s hot in here.” He said.
” Why are you just following me around Like a pet. i don’t even know you and i never said I’m even interested in you at all.” She said.
” Yeah, i guess that’s what you’d say, for now.” He shrugged.
” What then are you expecting in the future. Ohh. You better don’t dream of both of us falling in love.!”
” Mind you, Mitchell. I only need a best friend to keep as my company.”
” Dude, i am not the only human on earth. Go, venture out. You arrived at the wrong bustop. I like someone else!.” She said, folding her hands.
” And Who’s that lucky guy?” He asked winking his eyes at her.
” My boss. He’s cute, strong and physically fit and very wealthy.” She said so proudly like she would be paid.
” Mm. That’s good to hear.” He grinned and sat on her sofa. ” Do you have anything at home?”
” Hello?. I still don’t welcome you here. Get out!” She pointed at her door.
” But why did you open the window in the first place?”
” Cause i wanted to stab you so hard so you could leave!” She said and brought out her knlfe.
Before she could use it on him, he had wiped it off her hands.
” Hey!” She yelled.
” I really want to accommodate here tonight. Do me a favor please, or do you need cash?” He asked, stretching out some wraps of dollars.
She rolled her eyes and took the dollars willingly. She counted the wraps and smiled.
” What do you want to eat then?”
” Anything at all that is available.” He shrugged and she sluggishly walked in to her kitchen.
She picked out some groceries from her cold store room and laid everything on the table, preparing a meal for him.

Minutes later, She went back to the livingroom carrying a tray of his meal.
Her eyes bulged out of her socket the moment she met him doing in a push up, completely shirtless.
She almost gaped at how his triceps bursted out of his sweaty arm. So this ray was a girl teaser as well.
” Your food..” she said and he stopped, laying his belly on the floor to look at her
” Oh. That was fast. Cat-girl” He laughed and sat up on the floor happily.
He picked out his spoon and was about to eat when he met her watching him closely.
” Come eat with me.”
” No thanks.” She said, resting her cheeks on her kneels.
” Come on, just try a spoon.” He pressured her and she gave up her instinct.
” Fine. Just a spoon.” She said and sat down to eat with him. She curled her legs and blew out the hot meal before eating out from it.
” Where do you live?” She asked.
” I Just stick around. Don’t have a house yet.”
” But you have a car?” She raised her brow and he choked, coughing hard.
” Oh my god!. sorry.” She brought a cup of water and gave it to him.
He drank out of it suspiciously, seeing how well he was able to distract her from asking about her previous questions.
” So you have a car but no house?” She brought back the topic and he rolled his eyes in disgust. She was a smart girl indeed.
” I stole it.”
” Oh so, you steal?”
” Not really. I only steal in case I’m stuck or broke.” He said and she laughed.
” What’s funny?” He raised his brows.
” I always knew you were a broke guy.” She said, covering her lips.
He shaked his head and pretended to be speechless this time around.
After dinner, they laid on the floor, staring at the roof.
” Nice home.” He broke the silence they emitted for a long while.
” Yeah, thanks”
” Can i rent here for three more night?” He asked and Mitchell turned to look at him.
” Your level of insanity is too high to reach my standards.” She said and He throated a chuckle.
” Is that a yes or no?” He asked.
” No!. My house is not an hotel. I only allowed you in today. If you need a place to spend your night, go look for one.”
” Okay then, seems it will be our last time together. Last night with my new friend.” He chuckled and she turned to him.
She sighed and stared back at the roof.
” I collect 300 dollars for seven night. You’re in?” She asked and he smiled looking down at her face.
” I’ll pay as much as i can if i can stay here longer.” He said and they both bursted into laughter.

MAY’S OFFICE
May kept sneezing everywhere throughout the whole entire day. It worsened anytime she came across a smell.
She heard a knock on the door and she covered her red nose with her napkin.
Emperor walked in, looking young and refreshed for the day.
” Good morning, sir.” May stood up, squatting her back slightly.
He smiled warmly and palmed her cheeks as she stared at him bluntly.
” Are you okay?. Some workers complained you had flu.” He said and May nodded her head.
She sneezed again, making his cup of tea in his other hand to drop on his shirt.
” Oh my gosh. I’m so sorry!” She apologised picking a tissue from the table to clean it.
” Oh no..no…” He stopped her wrist and their hands met once again. May stared at his hands on her wrist.
She pulled herself away, lowering her face nervously.
He checked her head temperature.
” You are very warm” He said and she palmed her neck as well.
” Woah!. Perhaps it’s the cold” She blurted with a big smile.
” Don’t worry. Just hold on, I’ll call someone now.” He said and brought out his phone.
He stepped to the side of the room, talking to the receiver.
A man in a notable blue suit brought back a tray of tablet and water. He dropped it infront of may and she pouted.
” This isn’t necessary sir. I can manage.” She said. He palmed her table and looked straight at her innocent face.
” It is, May. I can’t watch you fall sick under my nose so you need to take this drugs.” He said and may exhaled deeply.
This man had started to act so strange towards her. He was now concerned about her health.
And every single day, she feels like her heart was meant for him.
He took the drug and she gulped it down her throat quickly.
” I think you also need to skip work today and rest your head before your temperature rise.”
” That wouldn’t be necessary.” She said, bending her brows.
” It would. I’m more concerned about your health. Okay?. Let go hang out somewhere together” He said and pulled her up on her feet.
” Okay sir. If…if you think so.” She said

PARK**
Emperor got to the park and May held his wrist, moving around like new couples made for eachother.
They had been talking about her illness and she jumped infront of Emperor and he looked straight at her.
” See…see. my hot head is gone!.” She said childishly, picking his hands to touch her forehead.
” You want us to go back to the office?. This place is actually more cool.” He said and she dropped her shoulders looking like a sad kitten.
Some bunch of children began to run towards them and they surrounded him.
” Geez. This kids.” He said, trying to escape from their midst
” i think They like you.” May said, smiling widely.
” Not really. They like the ice cream man infront of us.” He said and may laughed hard.
He picked the kids and walked up to the icecream truck.
He bought bowls of icecream for each of them and they all thanked him gratefully.
” I would have loved to get one for you but you have cold.” He said.
” No worries. I’m not a fan of icecream anyways.” She shrugged and they walked up to sit at an isolated bench at a corner.
He rolled his hands behind her backs and May felt his gestures itch her badly.
” I’m sorry for leaving you to go under the rain yesterday.” He said.
” It’s okay. It’s not your fault that i have cold.” She said and he looked at her.
” You mean the cause is from someone else.” He asked.
” No. I mean yes but…don’t worry. I’ll be fine.” She smiled widely.
He ruffled her hair and she crawled closer, laying her head on his shoulder.
” As far as I’m comfortable here, i think I’ll be fine.” She said and Emperor gave a slight laugh.
