CHAPTER 27
The elevator was moving smoothly to the top-most floor of the eatery and in the inside, Liam was standing in front of his wife.
He palmed one of his hands on the metallic wall and the other hand was inside his pocket.
He stared at the floor thinking of what to tell May. He had no idea why he told her to follow him.
May, on the other hand twirled the hem of her dress nervously.
She had never been nervous in her entire life until now. The atmosphere was quiet and cold adding the tension between both couples.
Liam began to tap his feet, feeling like the elevator was taking centuries to reach their destination.
Soon, the elevator got opened and May hopped out first, hugging herself tight as she went to a corner.
” Please don’t make me pull off my clothes. I cherished the clothes that why I decided to wear it today.” She spoke hastily, like a monster was about to eat her up.
The outside breeze swoosh on her sweaty face making some strand of her hair glue to her skin.
She stared at Liam’s eye for a second and she began to wonder what he was thinking to have been staring at her so intensely.
Liam walked closer to her and trapped her inbetween his two strong arms.
” I’m not here to talk about your dress or if you are wearing clothes or not.” He said and May chest fell in relief.
She tried not to look at his eyes because that was enough to make her loose her confidence.
” May. Do you think you want a divorce?” He asked and May instantly looked at his eyes.
His eyes was crowded with fear and something else she couldn’t fathom very well
She began to wonder why he would ask her such a question. Of course, she still didn’t want to give up on the marriage yet.
” Divorce?. N..no. I don’t want a divorce.” She said shaking her head and Liam nodded his head slightly, looking pleased with her reply.
” Why then did you go to live with another man after knowing we are still bounded under marriage?” He asked and she pouted her lips.
” I’ll have to repeat this again. I told you, I wanted to spend the rest of my life being happy and fulfilled, Liam. Emperor has made that possible ever since I came into his life.”
Liam began to laugh, but his laugh never reached his eyes. It felt as if he trying to hide an inner pain and coat them with a smile.
” Do you know what phase Emperor has acted upon our life. Do you know he is the cause of everything happening to us. And he smiles with you, you think it’s genuine.”
May looked at him and wondered what he was talking about.
She knew Liam was trying to place the whole blame on Emperor now. She fisted her palm and won’t let it happen.
” Emperor likes me alright?. I know you are only being jealous. Do you expect someone to like you after being this strongheaded and stupid?. Huh?”
Liam laughed again after listening to what she called him. He ran his fingers into his hair in a relaxed way and smirked.
He decided that he would have to just play the good-guy part today.
” Strongheaded and stupid?” He said and May folded her hands. She found tears began to fall on her cheeks.
” Before we got married, I thought I would never find anyone like you. People called us the most perfect sweet couple. But where is the love you promised to show me?. I have no other family to show me love except you, except you Liam.”
Liam stared at his feet. He couldn’t stand see tears fall on her pretty cheeks. Her tears had never affected him so much like this.
Talking about what she said, He felt very sad. He felt hurt and heartbroken because he couldn’t remember anything.
He doesn’t remember how sweet the husband he was, he doesn’t remember being the most perfect couple.
If he could remember, even if it’s a single event of them in the past, he would be truly glad.
He sighed and looked into her wet eyes. The monotone of his voice changing.
” May. it’s not as easy as you think. I hate being this way. I hated after waking up in the hospital and I was forced to accept the changes around me. I was forced to make you my wife and accept my family. I even forgot how to fall in love sometimes.” He said.
” Even those with amnesia don’t behave the way you do. At least, you should try to care about me. You are just torturing me on purpose” She said.
Liam shut his eyes.
” Just Stop talking Rubbish!” He yelled at her face and May palmed her eyes, sobbing heavily again.
” P..please don’t yell at me. I..i…get very scared.” She said and Liam’s eye turned tender.
He realised one reason she sobbed was the way he kept yelling on her. He never realised how deep his voice was.
Her frail tears caught him this time around. He pulled her a little closer and patted her hair affectionately.
” I’m sorry. I’m very sorry, May” He said and she kept sobbing on her palm like a toddler.
” I can’t help it yelling. It’s an habit I’m trying hard to control.” He said and sucked in air for a while.
” I want to accept today that I was wrong. I was really wrong to have treated you that way. I was only finding it hard to accept you as a wife. I’m really sorry.” He said and hugged her waist.
” Please, May. i want you back home.” He said and May moved away from him quickly.
” How do I believe you are not trying to trick me huh?!. How do I believe you won’t keep on torturing me. You want me to follow you home to that h’ll of a place..Count me out…I am not..”
While she was busy yelling at herself, He quickly grabbed her cheeks along with her hair and he leaned down to smash a kss on her.
A very gentle but affectionate slow kss.
He went gentle on her lips and made sure the kiss was able to transform her thinking system.
He finally let go of her and May stared at him with wide adorable eyes.
He picked her hands and placed it on his chest
” I can’t bare to see you with someone else. I only want to ask for a favor. Please follow me home and make me remember” He said and May kept looking at him.
” Will you?” He asked and May gulped in for a while, looking everywhere but him.
He pulled her closer and their bodies were rubbing on eachother like a sweet friction.
He grabbed her cheeks again and kssed her lip sweetly.
He looked at her eyes to see her reaction while kssing her and he was always on edge to laugh by the way she widened her eyes at him.
He shut his eyes and kssed her again, staying longer and hungrier on her lips.
Emperor arrived at the balcony and he was welcomed with two hungrily kssing couple.
May was resting on the wall and Liam was palming the wall, kssing and responding to her.
These were the same couples who were having issues some minutes ago, kssing so intensely.
” May!” He called and dragged her out, carelessly making her break her lips from Liam.
” What the heck is going on!. Liam why don’t you stay away from her and go meet the girl you brought on a date!” Emperor yelled.
” What the h’ll are you saying?. Stay away from my own wife?” Liam asked, coming forward.
” She doesn’t deserve to be yours, fool!” Emperor yelled and Liam dragged her wrist away, hugging her to himself.
” May. It’s left for you to choose who you are returning home with. I or Emperor?” He asked.
May sighed and looked at Emperor’s saddened face. She knew all he had done for her ever since She left Liam’s home.
He had been the nicest man ever. He took care of her when she was sick, gave her a job, and even made her stay in his home after everything.
She looked at Liam. He was her husband. She knew what Liam had done for her before the accident.
Tho, he hadn’t done much for her ever since he lost his sense and he was mainly the cause of everything.
She was too confused on whom to choose. Truly, her heart wanted to go for Liam because he had accepted to change.
And her soul was yearning for Emperor because he had been the good one since the beginning.
She knew her decision now would affect the rest of her life. It was a though decision.
Palming her eyes, she went to hug Liam instead. Liam kssed her head and looked at Emperor.
He gave a powerful smirk at him and Emperor grinned mischievously. May returned to Emperor and held his palm.
” I’m really sorry, Emperor. I..I choose Liam.” She said and he creased his brows.
” You mean, After all he did to you?. you’d abandon all of your promises you made to me and..all of my affection I threw on you?” He asked and May fell silent.
” You heard her Emperor. she goes with me. She needs her luggages.” He said and Emperor sighed.
” I understand that life is unfair. But I won’t accept that I was a fool. Anyways, Congratulations on coming back to your husband.” He said and shake her small hands.
May couldn’t stop looking at him. She felt sad that she almost wanted to change her mind. But she knew she couldn’t abandon her husband as well.
She was just caught inbetween two different choices and her heart ached.
Liam took her hands and they both began to exit the place.

OUTSIDE EMPEROR’S MANSION.
The chaffuers assisted May with her belongings. Liam kssed May’s head and she ran towards the car quickly.
It was left, Liam and Emperor. They were still walking towards the car like fine gentleman on a showbiz.
Liam stopped in his track and faced Emperor.
” Thanks for accommodating my wife in your house. How much for the few night she spent?” He asked in mimcry and Emperor folded his hands.
” There’s only one day for the owner, Liam. I just pray you don’t fall into my next trap.” He said and Liam scoffed.
” Oh. So you aren’t going to give up in trying to kll me again, Huh?. You are so lame.” He said.
They continued to walk in silence for a while and none of them turned to look at eachother’s face.
Emperor never knew Liam would make up and sort dispute with his wife so soon.
He knew May was dumb, and even after all of Liam’s maltreatment, she readily accepted him back.
He was disappointed to see them back together and he was still not satisfied with Liam.
He hated the fact that he would have a beautiful wife like May All to himself and all of his fathers wealth
He felt he had nothing and that made him feel very cheated
He suddenly laughed mischievously and it caught Liam’s attention.
” I won’t just kll you, Liam. Your kiddish wife won’t be absent.” He said and Liam lost his cool.
He dragged his coat and pushed him against one of his cars, cracking the glass. Emperor seemed unfazed.
” You dare not make comments about her or I’ll struck your neck with a spare.” He yelled.
” I knew you’d never change. I just hope your wife last a night in your home.”
” Of course she won’t, cus sadly, you won’t be able to live and see before a night. I’ll make sure you feel the pain I felt when you took May from me” He said.
” Inhuman thing!” Emperor spat and Liam left hold of him and stepped away.
Emperor dusted his coat and threw his hands into the large two pocket at each sides
” I hate you so much Liam. I’m going to make you die a painful death at the end of this story.” He hissed loudly.
Liam got into his car and closed up the door in a gentle thud.
He turned to May and saw she was already asleep, even whimpering as usual.
” May?” He called and She covered her lips, bursting out laughing. Liam rested his palm on his cheek as he stared at her.
” I was only trying to trick you!.” She giggled and Liam smiled brightly at her.
The more he had reason to change into a good man, the more he was falling in love with her.
” What took you so long?” She asked as she plugged in her seat belt.
” It’s Emperor again. But I’ll just try to ignore him.” He scoffed and May faced him, palming his shoulder.
” You guys are brothers. You should try to settle the dispute between the two of you. I don’t want things to get out of hand” She said and Liam sighed, resting back on the car headrest.
” Emperor doesn’t know the color of his problems. I don’t think he’ll ever agree to settle anything.” He stopped talking and turned his head lazily, staring at her with his deep set gaze.
” Let’s just go and forget that he exist. He is not part of our world” He said and May curled her lips into her mouth.
She turned to face the road and stared at her fingers.
She wanted to tell him how much she missed him and how she yearned so much for this moment.
She hadn’t gotten the courage to talk to him and that had resulted, because, she was always scared of him.
She told herself, she was his wife, she was supposed to learn to communicate with him.
” Um. Liam. I missed you alot while I was staying at Emperor’s place.” She said and Liam turned to her and gave a warm smile.
” I guess i wasn’t the only one missing you as well. it feels good to see you back again.” He said.
She wanted to say the words ‘I love you’ but she found herself, mulling her lips close.
She looked at his face and decided to tell him later.
