Chapter 40
May quickly rushed to Emperor and grabbed his cheeks and arm.
” Are you okay?. Speak. ” She said and Emperor nodded, bI.eeding seriously from his lips.
” I’m…okay. Yes, I’m…fine.” He said breathlessly and May hugged his body tight.
” Just be strong okay?. The doctor will come treat you up immediately.” She said still resting her face on his chest.
Liam stood aside watching them as smoke got out of his ears and nose.
The pain in seeing her hugging Emperor tightly wanted to give him the nerves to blow a bvIIet through his head.
The door opened and the doctor rushed in after being informed about the scene that was created.
” What’s happened?” The doctor asked and May raised her head from Emperor’s chest.
” Doc. This is the deviI. He tried to $trangle and kll this poor man here. .” May said and Liam stared at her blankly.
He just didn’t have the nerves to think at that moment.
He had been fighting with Emperor, forgetting that May was just knowing him for the first time again.
Now she would think he was the bad guy and Emperor was the good guy and that was going to cause more problems for him.
” Please. Attend to the young man.” The doctor said to the nurses.
May picked up Emperor and directed him to seat on the hospital bed before the nurse came to clean him up.
She saw that his whole body was covered with bIood and nothing else. She knew it was this hrrible serial kller again.
Liam immediately turned to face the doctor.
” When will May be discharged outta here?” He asked feeling impatience.
” She will be discharged at morning, but if you feel you want to take her home then it’s no problem.” He said.
” Good I’ll take her home tonight.” He said and grabbed May’s hand. May looked at him with questioning face.
” The rest of you all should find your way home. And I’m talking to just Mitchell.” He said and began to pull May along with him.
” Hey. Let go of me. Stop touching me. Doc, tell him to let me go!” May screamed as Liam pulled her outside.
He immediately carried her in his arms like a princess and she wobbled her feet, yelling down the hallway like a kid.
He remembered that he had driven Emperor’s car to the hospital so he waved off a taxi.
He got to the car and dropped her in, tucking her with a seat belt forcefully.
” You are my wife, May. You are coming along with me!” He yelled.
” No. I’m never your wife. You id!ot with no human heart!” She cvrsed and sobbed heavily.
The driver started driving and then he was out of the hospital premises.

MITCHELL’S HOME.
Mitchell took Emperor and Ray into her home. They were just returning from the hospital and Ray walked straight into the guest room.
” This is my small home. I know its not what you are expecting Emperor, but trust me, I’ll make you twice comfortable.” Mitchell smiled as they stepped in.
Emperor looked around and gave a taunting smile.
” Thanks for accommodating us for the night. Too bad, my car ran out of petrol.” He said and they both burst into a laughter.
Mitchell stared at him daringly and he looked back at her with the same expression.
” Oh. Your coat. Before I forget.” She said, helping him to take off his coat.
” Why are you acting so nice?” He asked.
” Am I?” She blinked and Emperor stepped away.
They sat around the sofa’s in the livingroom. Mitchell gaze crossed over to the large towel she had given to May to clean her hair that day.
” I feel really bad for Liam and may especially May. I can’t believe she can’t remember any of us anymore.” Mitchell said and Emperor sighed deeply.
” I feel more bad too. It would take a lot of time before she heals. All this mess happened because of Ray” He said and something crossed Mitchell’s mind.
” Mnn. Why did you take Ray’s blame on yourself?” Mitchell asked, coming to sit next to him on the sofa.
Emperor looked towards the window as his mind drifted to something else.
” I just thought of doing it. I wanted him to be on a safe side with Liam, if not, Liam could have killed him right then.” He said.
” But now, look you’ve hurt yourself a lot.” Mitchell said touching the bundle of bandage around his neck.
Emperor grabbed her wrist, stopping her from meddling with it.
” It’s hurt so don’t touch it.” He said and Mitchell dropped her hands.
” I’ll go get a mattress for us to sleep on. I’ll be back.” She said and left him alone.
Emperor looked away from her and saw a portrait laying on her TV side.
He stood up and picked it up and What he realised cripped a smile on his cheek.
it was Mitchell and a smaller girl beside her. The two kids looked extremely cute and happy in a ball gown.
” Hey. What are you doing with my portrait.” Mitchell asked collecting it from Emperor.
” Are you twin?” He asked pocketing his hands and Mitchell smiled, nodding her head.
” Too bad, I heard we got separated at one years old so I know absolutely nothing about her” She said and Emperor sighed.
” May also told me that same story some weeks ago. She said she was a twin and her parent died.” He said and Mitchell creased her brow.
” Really?” She asked
She remembered when she saw that picture of two familiar twins in May’s picture bag that day while she was trying to steal her possession.
Could that mean she’s her lost twin. But it was sounding quite ridiculous.
” I’m hungry. Do you have anything at home?” Emperor asked, settling on the mattress Mitchell had brought.
” Oh yeah. I brought some Mac and cheese.” She said and the two of them began eating.
Emperor stopped chewing his food and he stared at Mitchell for some reasons.
” What’s the problem?” Mitchell asked.
He quickly picked out a serviette and spit them out.
” I thought you said you cooked mac and cheese.” He said.
” Yeah, I did.”
” This is your first time cooking?”
” Yes of course. is there anything wrong with the meal?” She asked and Emperor closed up his meal and stood up, taking her hands.
” Let’s visit the restaurant before you feed me with Poison.” He said and her eyes swelled with anger.

MAY’S BEDROOM.
May heard a knock on the door. She used the pillows to cover her ears tightly.
” May. Please open the door. I need you badly” Liam knocked carefully, resting his head on the door.
” Go away. I don’t want to talk to you or anybody!.” She yelled.
” I swear this is not a joke May. If you don’t open this door, I’ll break it” He said.
” Oh yeah, Superman. Break the door!” May spat and Liam got super red on his face.
” You wouldn’t like what I’d do to you afterwards. Open this door now or I’ll deal with you”
” If you dare touch me, I’ll call the cops on you. ASAP. ” She yelled and Liam rested on the door frustrated.
He felt like he should sob and then palm his face to scream hard with annoyance.
” May. Our honeymoon to Hawaii is just tomorrow and we aren’t making any preparations on it yet.”
” Honeymoon?. I thought honeymoon was for married people.” She said looking towards the door.
” Of course!. That’s because WE ARE MARRIED AND YOU ARE MY WIFE!!” He yelled, htting the door with every word he said.
” That’s a lie, brother Liam. I don’t remember getting married to you.” She said.
” Then why are you wearing my ring. Why does everyone calls you my wife. Why is there a couple portrait on your table. Think about all this, baby. Please…”

May looked at the ring in her hand. She pouted her lips and removed it before crawling down the bed.

After opening the door, Liam quickly turned to look at her. She picked his wrist and placed the ring on his palm.
” Have your ring.” She and quickly shut the door up.
” Goodnight. And have fun in your honeymoon tomorrow.” She said crawling up her bed to sleep.

Liam slid to the ground and held his head as it throbbed in pain.
” Emperor. See what you caused.” He said breathlessly.
He felt like $tabbing himself hard for this.
