CHAPTER 53
Liam creased his brows as he stared at Mr Kim, like he was seeing the shock of his life.
His brain kept failing to understand the few words he just made.
Did he say May and Mitchell are twin?. And this sick woman unknown to him on the hospital bed was his ex wife?
He thought it was all a joke. He thought this was just being part of a family prank and he prepared his mind.
” If this Is a prank, you can just break it to us in a surprise way.” Liam said, running his fingers into his hair.
” It’s no prank, Liam.” Mr Kim said in a serious tone.
Liam eye’s got stretched in disbelief and he found his fist tightening up.
” Then why are you saying all of this?!. Why is this happening now?” Liam began to yell and Emperor patted his shoulder to calm off his anger issues.
” It’s a long story.” Mr kim said.
” A long story as a beginning!” Cassandra yelled, fuming like a gas.
At the look of her face, She was going to roast Mr Kim alive if he didn’t give a good explanation to the ‘long story’ he was referring to.
Mr Kim sighed and took his seat away from the others. He couldn’t face any of them any longer.
” Rosa here was my first wife..” He started and everyone began to pay serious attention at him.
” Yes, she had kids for me, girls. . twins!. We weren’t moving fine as a couple and so I had to end it.” He said.
Rosa sat up as well, facing them.
” It was not an easy task after he left us. I had to carry three month old infants for a good year of suffering. I left them in an orphanage cus I didn’t want to rub my past on them.”
Mitchell stared at May again, doubting if this was actually true. There was tears on May’s eyes as she listened to her poor mother.
Mr Kim continued.
“I left and later on. . .I met cassie and married her even tho she couldn’t give me kids. I adopted Liam and his brother when they were five and six. And then I decided to continue the family from there.” He said and gave a rough sigh.
” He abandoned me. I tried to reach him by the public phone calls in the street. I visited mail offices hoping my letter had reached him. I was so hopeless and I wanted to commit suicide at some point. He made my life hopeless.” She said and tried to form a smile at the kids.
” I’m very sorry.” Mr Kim said with low sad tone.
” Sorry?. What a sarcastic word!” Rosa said and heaved a sigh with a heavy heart.
Mitchell rubbed her watery eyes as her heart clenched in pain.
” Does that mean, I am May’s twin sister? A. . and you both are my parent?. You are not truly dead?” She asked.
Rosa cleared the tears out of her cheeks and gave an heartwarming curvy smile.
” I knew that what they told you at the orphanage- that your parent were not alive. Look, we are.” She said and Mitchell bursted put crying.
She suddenly stood up and collapsed on Emperor’s arm.
” Mitchell!.” He gasped, widening his eyes and everyone quickly stood up.
Cassandra turned to Mr Kim and glared at him.
” When you are done with this family drama. You’ll meet me in the car, id!ot!” She spat and walked out of the ward.
After a while, Mitchell was able to stand on her feet again. Yet, her tear glands couldn’t stop.
” I.. I…can’t believe my twin as been with me for a year now and I have met my parent in the process. This…this is just too amazing.” She said, crying out her eyes.
May quickly rested her head on Liam’s chest and began to sob hardly as well.
Liam was quick to pat her back and whisper to her some sweet words, yet it couldn’t make her stop.
Mitchell stood up and took May in a tight hug.
” Sister.” Mitchell smiled and May bit her lips, her heart clenching tightly in pain.
Emperor rested his arm around Liam’s shoulder and gave a long, long sigh.
” I still can’t believe all this is happening and we all get to share one father” He said.
” The truth is the hardest thing to accept. I feel really bad right now, I don’t even know what to say.” Liam said, pinching the skin between his brows.
Emperor sighed and turned to look at Rosa who was still on the bed, glued to a drip.
Kim came to sit on her bedside and he quickly took her palm with his.
” Rosa dear. . .”
” There’s no amount of forgiveness that will make me come back to you, Kim.” She said, looking at the roof.
” I don’t deserve to be forgiven. But for our daughter’s sake…”
” You don’t care for our daughter. If you did, you wouldn’t have left them with me.” She said.
Mr Kim sighed
” Please Rosa. I won’t feel myself anymore if you stay away from me again.” He said and Rosa glared at him.
” Step away from me and your excuses!. Just.. Stay away!” Rosa yelled, throwing the hospital pillow on his face.
Mr Kim sighed and stood up, stepping back.
” Rosa. Please hear him out first.” Emperor said.
” No. He needs to go!. If he doesn’t go I won’t be happy. Let him go!” She yelled and May left Mitchell and came to sit next to her.
” If you don’t accept dad back, then I’m sorry, we won’t accept you as well.” She said.
” Yes, May is right. You both have played a negative role in our life and we’ve all been far away from eachother now, unless you don’t want us to reunite as a family.” She said.
” Please,” May said, holding her palm. Rosa looked at Kim and found tears stream out of her own eyes.
Her throat was merely dry and she managed to gulp in hardness.
” Kim.” She said and he quickly moved closer to her. ” Let’s make our daughter our priority. Let’s listen to whatever they say now” She said and smiled.
” They are the only ones who can make me open my heart and accept you the right way.” She said and pulled him closer, resting her head on his shoulder.
Mr Kim took her in and he found his shirt getting wet with tears already.
He hugged her and he finally felt that connection. That love of years ago came back, tying them like a knot back again.
” Everyone..” Mr Kim said bringing out his arms and the four of them, came in and took in the hug.
They left a silence for a while, just maintaining that aura of being together again.
Rosa quickly left his chest and everyone stood back on their feet.
” I’m worried now. My son is married to my daughter?. I don’t think this is right.” Mr kim said.
” What!. But dad, I’m not even her blood brother
I’m just being part of the family cus I was made to” Liam said.
” It’s doesn’t feel right, even with that” He said and May creased her brow in fear. No!.
She wasn’t going to leave her husband because she was his sister.
Tho, she haven’t heard of stories where Adopted kids fall in love with their step sibling, but she wasn’t ready to let go of her boo.
” It doesn’t matter , dad. Afterall, it’s your fault that we never knew we were siblings.” Mitchell said and Kim sighed.
The door suddenly opened and the doctor walked in.
” Good evening.” He greeted.
” Good evening, doc.” They all replied to his greeting.
” She’s awake?!. Wooh,That was very fast.” Doc said and he went through her files.
He made to face them.
” She can’t leave the hospital. I still need to go on a thorough test on her bones. Someone needs to stay with her”
” I volunteer” Mitchell raised her head and Rosa gave a sardonic smile.
She finally had her kids back and they felt like the only meaningful things to her in the world.
She couldn’t wait to be part of her long lost family once again.
” That will be okay.” The doctor said. ” The rest of you can leave the hospital.”
Everyone stood on their feet and began to leave the hospital.
