CHEATED : EPISODE 21 – 40

Episode 35.

Mr. Mbakwe has not been himself for some time now, and isn’t calculated enough to hurt anyone in one way or the other he knows his son was in great danger.

Though he was( and is) happy, he couldn’t be accessed when he gave him up for sacrifice, he still knows the Ruler must have been disappointed in such failure and would therefore keep trying until he gets him, as they are known fir their determination.

While deeply thinking about his son, the thought of nwankwos crossed his mind and he hissed. He remembered all he had planned to fight against them, most especially Kingsley.. it was because of him he accessed (asked for) higher power in the first place. Remembering all these made him totally confused. He couldn’t understand how he has been distracted from his ultimate goal- Destroying the Nwankwos.

“Wait…. Is this some kind of trick or something to divert my attention and permanently forget about my plan for this family?” He thought.

“No! It’s not going to work. I must fight to my last drop of blood! Their being alive is becoming a threat to myself and my son. Because of their son, ,my son is fallen from great height. Because of their son, I experience defeat whenever I wanyt to attack them. Because of their son, I got insulted and defeated by a small boy I could father three times on the day I successfully possessed higher powers. It is very clear that as long as that Kingsley boy is still alive, I’m in for defeat in all ramifications.” He thought.

“There are things I need to do before my death. I need to make things easy for my son. First, I have to destroy the Nwankwos, I need to deal with that boy that insulted me the other day, then I have to…” he said and at this point paused. It was as if everything he was saying wasn’t making any sense to him all of a sudden.

“My son is my topmost priority and my own blood. Protecting him should be first before thinking of creating battles and problems for others.” He concluded as he began thinking of the protection to use on him.

Meanwhile ,

The Nwankwos have been drawing closer to God and have been praying to God, asking Him to keep all their enemies busy with tiresome and compound assignments. Kingsley on the other hand, has been busy with work. Still, that didn’t stop him from being fervent in prayers.

He enjoyed Favour with his boss, but whenever he wanted to feel satisfied and comfortable with his present level, he would hear an inner voice saying “Don’t feel relaxed or fulfilled yet for this isn’t half of where you’re meant to be.You still have battles to fight.

Most people settle for less when they receive a little breakthrough, oblivious of the fact that their deliverance is incomplete. When this happens, they begin to lack the faith required to access their next level simply because they feel they have been delivered, and have finally arrived. And since little or nothing can be done without faith, they never get their complete deliverance. Thus, they live below Gods expectation and standard for them”

“Hmm…wow. So my deliverance isn’t complete still? When will I have me complete deliverance! Kingsley thought.

“Your deliverance is tied to salvation of a particular soul. Once that soul is saved, your complete deliverance would automatically surface.” The inner voice responded and at this point, the dream he had about a tree flashed through his mind.

“This soul… I’m supposing it’s that heavy branch on the tree in my dream. But how do I access this soul for salvation?” he asked and just then , the answer came- Intercession.

“Hmm…so one’s deliverance and success could be tied to another person’s success or salvation? Hmm… that means intercessors are really doing themselves a lot of good.” He thought.

“But I don’t know this soul whose salvation my next level is tied down to, so how do I pray aright?”

“The Holy Spirit is in charge of intercession and not you, so you do not necessarily need to know the person you’re praying for.” The voice responded. He then and to understand why most intercessors prayed in tongues.

“Okay so when do I start interceding for this soul?”

“As early as you need your total deliverance!”

Emmanuel has incessantly been selling Rose these days, but she has refused to pick his calls. Deep down, he knew he had hurt her feet after getting rid of her innocent, and thus felt he should keep apologising to her till she calms down, at least. He still loved her though, but somehow knew things wouldn’t work out fine – between them and his immediate family – if he still maintained their usual relationship.

Rose on the other hand was thinking of what to do; deep down, she was beginning to consider Ann’s suggestion on repaying Emmanuel because she was deeply wounded, and seeing his numerous calls each day brought back old memories, adding salt and pepper to her wounded heart.

On the day she decided to follow her friend’s advice (after encountering a fierce inner battle with her conscience and her obviously stronger quest for revenge), Emma’s usual call came in and she picked with a mischievous smile.

? Hello

? Hello Rose, good afternoon.

? Afternoon.

? Yeah please can we meet later today?

? Sure okay. Where and when?

? Our usual meeting spot; 4pm.

? We’re no longer a couple, so I don’t know what you mean by ‘our usual meeting spot’.

? *Silence*

? Well, we could use your house you know. Either there, or our apart….sorry, former apartment. At least we’d have enough privacy there to talk and say our minds, don’t you think?

?*Silence* Okay, if you say so.

“Hey.” Emma greeted softly on sighting Rose at the gate of the state’s garden.

“Hey, good evening.” She responded casually.

“Where’s your car to go to our former apartment? Or are we trekking or gonna use an Uber?” She asked looking around as Emma smiled and pointed at a neat car parked not far away from them.

“Is that your car? I don’t know this one o.” She said

“Nah, it’s my Dad’s. I kinda borrowed it.”

“Great. Let’s be on our way then.” She said and with that, they got going.
On their way, Rose was deep in thoughts on whether what she was about to do was right or not. Emma sat at the front beside his driver, while Rose settled behind. So he couldn’t notice when she stole glances in pity at him.

CHEATED : EPISODE 21 – 40

Rose’s POV

I had seen Ann’s advice as an extreme one, and decided to make it a little bit mild. So instead of getting a poison that’d lead to his instant death, I stopped by to purchase a strong sedative before coming to meet Emma.

What I plan to do after getting him into a deep sleep? I honestly don’t know……yet.

All I wanted to do was express my grief.

“We’re here already.” Emma said, successfully interrupting her thoughts.

She got down and looked around- the abode was as beautiful as she could remember.

She remembered when Emma first brought her here, dedicating the apartment to their relationship. There they stayed most times and would sleep over sometimes.

She remembered the times they lived like couples here then, to the point Emma was desperate to have her one particular night but she bluntly refused.

Remembering all these almost got her emotional and moved to tears, but she decided to be in charge of her feelings; she had a plan to carryout.

“Aren’t you gonna come in?” Emma asked like a gentleman he was.

“Does this guy know he’s reviving memories I’m trying so hard to bury? What exactly is his plan?” Rose thought.

“No…let’s stay at the veranda instead.” She responded as he agreed and left the way.

Rose excused herself to get some refreshments. Since she knew her way around, she was allowed to go alone.

Her conscience kept battling with her as she sprinkled a little of the sedative in the drink meant for Emmanuel.

She had resolved to give him the drink and when he sleeps off, drop a goodbye note.

It was childish, but the best she thought of.

“Here’s yours.” Rose said, handing over his drink to him.

“Thanks.” He said and dropped it on the table.

“What is it? You’re not thirsty?” She queried.

“I didn’t call you here to drink. So at least let’s discuss the important part of our meeting first.” He said as she adjusted herself, indicating her undivided attention.

“Okay, I’m listening.”

“Okay. Rose, my dad’s life is at stake.”

“Your dad? I don’t understand. I thought it was your mom.”

“You can say both now.” He responded as Rose’s soft nature had the best of her.

“What? What happened?”

“I don’t really know how to explain that’d make sense to you, honestly. It’s something spiritual – both of them.

And someone has to be spiritually strong and prayerful to get them back on their feet. If not…… I don’t want to think of the consequences because it’s not pleasant at all.” He explained as Rose bowed her head in fresh regrets.

She had failed.

She had let someone who knew little or nothing about the importance of spiritual values influence her.

“If only I had been perserverant and determined about my spiritual life, this would be the point he’d be needing me the most and not trying to get rid of me.” She murmured as a tear escaped her eyes.

“Not just about my parents, but me myself. Few months back I was under and attack and what saved me and kept me alive was a friend of mine who prayed for, and with me.” He spoke further, oblivious of her mood as she had her head bowed and her hair hid her face.

“No matter how long it takes, everyone will come to the understanding that the spiritual controls the physical and act accordingly.

They’d trash friends who haven’t been exposed to this truth, and joyfully embrace those who they once mocked and jeered for taking this truth too serious.” She murmured again, and this time sniffed.

“Is something wrong?” He asked and gently tapped her to raise her head.

“Nothing’s wrong. I’ve heard all you said, and it’s fine. Don’t worry about my threats, I take them back. We don’t have to see to further explain anything please; it only succeeds in bring up feelings I’m trying to bury.”

“Okay…..but is that why you’re crying?”

“No…..I failed. I failed to preserve in the truth I knew for a long time. I willingly closed my eyes and let the blind lead me and now it has landed me here – being an obstacle to your progress.” She said and at this point got up on her feet.

“Anyway, it’s all in the past now; though I have painful regrets.
I wish you well in your journey. Go and succeed in getting your family back in order spiritually.”

“Okay, but what happens to you?”

“Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine.” She said and tried to hide her shaky voice.

“I’m so sorry for all the pain I’ve caused you, Rose. I wish I knew better.”

“It’s fine. I’d like to e on my way now, please.”

“Okay, let me drop you off.” He said getting up on his feet but Rose disapproved.

“This environment isn’t new to me. I’d find my way home.” She said and thereafter left.

“God, I’m returning like a prodigal daughter unto you. I just hope you’d love and accept me back, after all I’ve done in deliberately disobeying your Spirit you gave to me.” Rose muttered on her way home in an Uber.

Frank has been noticing that whenever he saw Favour, he’d either be aroused or excited.
Though he didn’t know what the feeling was or meant, he did nothing about the situation.

It was a cool evening one day and the house as more or less empty; it was just Mr. Frank, Favour, and her little bro.

Favour was in the kitchen trying to make dinner as instructed by her mom, when Frank walked in, oblivious of her presence.

Immediately he sighted her, he felt a force drawing him towards her.

“What’s this?” He puzzled as he tried fighting back and controlling himself.
When he couldn’t take it any longer, he left the kitchen for somewhere else.

“You might keep resisting, but not for long. I need to use you as a tool to bring this little adversary down through the power of sx; so she’d become powerless, and I’d have my way with you.” The ruler said as he watched them closely via his crystal ball.
