CHEATED SEASON 2 : EPISODE 1 – 20

SEASON 2 EPISODE 10

The Desmonds could be seen praying at the midnight hour in their apartment.
No one was excluded, except for Me. Frank.

The couple had agreed to re-build their family altar, which was convenient only at the midnight hour as family activities would keep them busy and distracted during the day.

Mrs. Desmond thought of this as a good strategy to avert further attacks, which would likely be sent at that time.

“Their reinforcement gets stronger as the day passes. I need to borrow a leaf from them and get a backup as well.
This war is mine to win, not lose!” Hamen said, watching closely as the Desmonds dispersed to their various rooms after prayers, completely powerless over them.

Mbakwe walked quietly into a church as he humbly followed the direction of an usher on duty.

He had received the name and pastor of the church the night of his encounter, and was lucky to locate it in few days.

“Finally, my deliverance is here.” He said to himself as he confirmed he was in the right place.

Mrs. Folawe could be seen seated quietly in the large living room. The whole family had gone about their various business, leaving her alone in the building and with enough time to think.

“If I hadn’t hit you hard with the circumstances you faced, you wouldn’t have returned back to me.” She recalled a voice say as she lamented in prayers one day.

She realized she was like the Isrealites who wandered away from Him but since He had called Isreal His own, He always devised means of bringing Him back to Him, which was usually by causing an adversary to rise against them.

“Hmmm…..I really never knew you loved me this much Lord.
As painful as my situation is, I’m very much grateful.” She thought aloud and prayed silently for directions on the next step to take.

“A ladder! Yes, that’s it! Why didn’t I ever think of it?” Mbakwe happily thought to himself as he meditated on the teachings of the service he attended.

“All these have been ladders he has been using to torture me all these while!” Mbakwe said as he rushed into his secret room where he had all the materials he used as a herbalist.

He wondered why it had never crossed his mind to get rid of them, knowing fully well they gave his opponent legal right to afflict him.

“Hmmm……Hamen kept me in the dark, so I’d never find out the truth.” He said as he resolved in his heart to burn and verbally denounce all the materials the next day as it was getting late already.

Esther and Kingsley could be seen heading out of a restaurant together.
She had suggested they hangout together to get to know each other.
Although Kingsley saw no need for this, he obliged after much persuasion from her.

“It was nice having you around this evening, Esther.” K said casually as they almost arrived where they’d part ways.

“Same here. Can we do this again?” She asked as Kingsley smirked.

“Yeah but I don’t think…..”

“Please…..it’d really be fun. We can use another restaurant if you want.” She said as Kingsley sighed.

“Okay, if you say so.” He said and flagged down an Uber that’d take her home.

“I’d call you to confirm you got home safe.” He said as she blushed before waving goodbye.

Esther wore a happy smile on her way home, giggling like she had attained a goal.

“Where have you been? And why you giggling like someone that just won a lottery?” Happiness asked as soon as she stepped in.

“Seriously? Is that your new way of greeting now?” Esther asked, though not offended.

“Good evening sis, where have you been?” Happiness asked once more as she rolled her eyes.

“You’re not saying anything.” She pressed further.

“Okay okay fine. I was with someone.”

“Who?” Happiness asked as her sister have her a knowing smile and covered her face to indicate she was blushing.

“Wait…. Kingsley?”

“Yes!”

“Awwwww….so cute.” Happiness cooed.

“Ikr. I think I’ve won his heart babe, I’ve captured his heart! OMG, I can’t believe it could happen so soon.” Esther said as she began daydreaming of them being a thing soon.

“Lol….just like that? That’s impossible. Better chill o. He may just be acting nice, you never can tell.” Happiness said as her mood changed.

“Girl why you like to dey spoil my mood like this now….”

“Noooo, I’m just saying; because if he’s as God-fearing as you presented Him to be, I don’t think he’d just…..like you like that. You’d have to work more than hard to win him over.”

“Happiness I’m not getting you. What do you mean?” Esther asked with tension in her voice.

“Hey relax…..ah ah. Calm down, all I’m saying is just a mere assumption.” Happiness said as Either paced around the room.

“Happiness I really like this guy, ever since our university days. I never really had the chance to talk to him, not to talk of to be close to him because of our population.

Now I get the chance to get him to like me like I do, you’re here discouraging me.” Esther said, breathing a heavy sigh.

“Oh my God! Sis can you just hear yourself talk? I mean, didn’t Henry teach you enough lesson? Why do you want to set…….”

“Oh happiness please, please! Don’t mention that dog’s name in my presence again please, I don’t want to hear it.”

“Esther he’s no dog. He was never interested in you and you knew it, yet you kept forcing yourself on him.

He ended up shattering your heart because you refused to see the handwriting boldly written on the wall.

Now here comes Kingsley, your secret sweetheart since uni and you want to give him the chance to scatter your heart too?

Remember it took you two full months before you recovered from your previous heartbreak.” Happiness said, trying to talk some sense into her sister but Esther wasn’t having it.

“Enough! Enough of all these crap, please. For goodness’ sake, is it a crime to want to be loved, is it?!

Must you remind me of all my failed relationships and still be pessimistic about this one?
Don’t I deserve to be loved?
Don’t we deserve to be loved?
Our parents are in diaspora enjoying themselves while they dump us here to figure this out ourselves, deny us of parental love and attention?
Were we a mistake or what?
We’ve never go to receive the tiniest form of attention since we’ve been born.

Now I’m trying to find happiness on my own, you’re all here being pessimistic and reminding me of my failures!

Tell me, don’t I deserve to be loved? Don’t I?
Am I not pretty eno…..” Esther responded, almost moved to tears.

“Sis calm down, please. Everyone deserves to be loved.
You deserve to be loved too but I’m just asking you to be careful and not be desperate about it.”

“Oh so now I’m desperate.”

“Sis I didn’t say so. But…….” She lost her words. She didn’t know what else to say, but her sister’s mentality didn’t seem to go down well with her.

“Listen, our parents love us, okay? They’ve just been busy.
Please, I don’t know what to say to you but you just need to calm down about this whole thing. I love and care so much about you that I don’t want another heart…..” Happiness said calmly but was interrupted with Esther’s ringtone.
Esther checked who it was, to find out it was K.

“You have a call.” Happiness said when she noticed Esther didn’t pick up.

“I’m neither blind nor deaf.” She retorted, obviously pissed and walked out.
Happiness watched her leave the room and sighed heavily.

“Hello? Yeah, good evening. Can you please call later? She’s kinda busy. Thanks.”

“There, my goals!” She happily said to herself as she admired well-decorated plans for the month she had printed.

Rose has been recently occupied with the discovery of her talent and setting her priorities right; frequently mapping out ways she plans improving herself.

She’s forged ahead to have insightful imaginations on where her skills could take her, giving her the motivation needed to face the challenges that’d come her way and consequently giving her an edge over her contemporaries who saw tailoring as a little means of earning money.

“Dmn! This waiting period stuff is an interesting journey already!”

K was getting prepared for his midnight prayers when he decided to check through his messages and chat a little, in a bid to while away time.

When it was about ten minutes to midnight and he was about logging out, a message from Esther pooped up on his screen.

It read:
“I’m sorry I couldn’t pick your call earlier today. I didn’t ask my sis to pick up for me, either.
I returned home well and fine, thanks for the call.

Goodnight.”

Kingsley read the message over and over again.

“Why so formal?” He questioned himself. He later waved it aside as he had an important appointment to be punctual to.

After his usual Praise/Worship period, he settled down to read his Bible and was led to a passage as usual.
“Beware of any idol in your heart.” He heard a still voice say within him.

“What?” He said, not understanding what the message meant.

“When waiting on God for a spouse or a business, be careful not to have a particular way you would like your answer to your prayers to be, so you won’t limit God.

Having an idol in your heart is a dangerous game, that hinders you from receiving God’s best.” The voice explained. It was then Kingsley recalled he had received a Bible passage not too long ago, but couldn’t understand how it related to his life.

“Ezekiel 14:1-6! That’s it!” He said as soon as he got the message.

He then understood he’s to keep an open mind while waiting on God, and not to secretly wish any woman he’d come across, was his wife.

“Remember we’ve been given full authority to take charge of this territory and we mustn’t mess up. I hope each and everyone of us still has her victim intact.” A woman named Karen, who seemed to be the leader of a group of five, said in a meeting that night.

“Yes, we all do.” The group of five chorused.

“Eunice!” She called out as an old woman stepped forward in response.

“I heard yours is the most difficult, owing to the fact she reverences the Most High. I hope you still have her intact still.” Karen said calmly.
Not minding she was her leader, she had great respect for Eunice and thus speaks to her in a kind manner.

“Very well.
I’ve also been trying my best to put out the zeal she has for the Most High, to ease my efforts in retaining her in bondage.” Eunice responded.

“That’s good to hear. You truly are using your powers well.” The female fierce-looking leader complimented.

“You may all go, we’re done here already.” Karen announced and with that, they all disappeared, returning to their various homes.

Eunice returned home as well, stared intently at Vivian who was sound asleep, before finally retiring to bed.
