“Can you just tell me why you’ve been laughing? I mean what’s so funny?” Esther asked, already getting pissed at his reactions.
“This guy…..babe, this guy is my best friend since secondary school.”
“Okay….so?” She asked with a raised eyebrow, not seeming to get the point.
“The last time I checked, he’s not the kind that has time for ladies. Babe, you’re just wasting your time.”
“I…..I don’t….I don’t understand.” She said with a shaky voice.
“You mean Kingsley would never get to love me?” She asked as Emma tried hard to hold his laughter, while wondering the kind of mindset she had.
“Babe….I’d advise you have a life and stick to our agreement concerning guys.
You need to value and love yourself first.
You need to feel complete before you talk of wanting to love or experience love from another soul.
Funny enough the Kingsley we’re talking about here is the person I came here to meet briefly.
We talked about alot of things as best friends would, but he never for once mentioned your name to me.
Doesn’t that mean something to you?” He said, placing his arms around her shoulders to make her feel comfortable.
“But I….I want this one. I mean I like him alot and…..”
“Oh Lord!” He said in disappointment as he covered his face with his right palm.
Deep down, he wished his cousin would see things like a sensible lady would.
It was obvious the lack of attention and love of her parents were beginning to tell on her.
“I wish someone…..at least your mom, made out time to teach you these things.” Emma thought to himself, oblivious of Happiness’presence.
“Emma let’s go….” She said, jolting him back to reality.
“Oh you’re set already.”
“Yeah I am…..were you thinking?” She asked as Emma responded in the negative.
As soon as Emma paid the bills, they all headed home.
“Your assignment is almost done.” Mrs. Desmond heard in her spirit as she washed the dishes one evening.
“Thank you Jesus.” She responded, praising God.
Frank has been feeling completely sane lately, ever since he began praying for himself.
It seemed like the heaviness in his heart had disappeared, making him feel more alive and revived.
Asides praying for himself personally, he had also joined the Desmonds in their daily vigils as much as he could, consequently feeling at peace with himself.
He’s beginning to feel his life would take to shape soon.
Mr. Folawe’s much thinking as a result of his sudden predicament in his place of work was beginning to tell on him as he had begun losing weight.
His loss of appetite also heightened and his absent-mindedness at home was second to none.
All these caught the attention of Rachel who began worried about this issue.
Eventually, it came to the notice of everyone that all was not well with the head of the family.
“George what is wrong with you? You’ve not been yourself lately.
Please tell me what the issue is, we can sort of out together no matter how difficult or complicated it is.” Rachel said to her husband persuasively as he lay on the bed with his head faced upwards.
“Please share your problems with me, darling. You don’t have to bear the whole burden alone.
I am your wife, remember?” She said further, moving closer to him as she finally looked her way.
“It’s nothing my love, I’m fine.” He finally responded with a fake smile as she shook her head in disbelief.
“Dear that’s what you keep saying but your body, mood and attitude states otherwise.
Please I don’t want you keeping things to yourself and bearing burdens alone.
Okay, I promise not to get angry or overreact. Just tell me the problem, I won’t judge you. I promise.” She said as he searched his eyes for answers, hoping he’d open up to her.
