Kingsley kept thinking about his relationship life more often, especially now his mom wouldn’t let him rest from her now frequently calls, explaining the importance of grandchildren in her life.
K understood it was normal of an African mother to behave in that manner, but was determined to take his time on this issue and follow God’s leading to the latter.
Esther’s sister had explained what was going on with her when he visited one day and she wasn’t around.
It was then he now understood her display at the park the other day and also the insight he had received.
“She really does have things she’s battling with.” He said as he thought of her. He then concluded there was no need trying to be nice or caring as it was crystal clear to him she wasn’t for him.
After sometime, his thoughts diverted to Vivian.
He just couldn’t understand her own case these days.
He had once prayed concerning her and he recieved a conviction she was the one and he began making efforts to get to know her, until he was warned not to have an idol in his heart and decided to take things slow.
Now things turned around and recieved she wasn’t fit for him, leaving him confused.
To be honest, he didn’t bother much about all he received concerning Esther but that of Vivian bothered me greatly that he began if it was God speaking or his mind forming suggestions.
“But what could’ve gone wrong?” He thought to himself and resolved to get answers the next time he prayed.
“Papa Flora take am easy nw……no be so them dey do things oooo.” Flora’s mom said following her husband who stormed into Flora’s room to find her sobbing quietly.
“Listen young lady, you have two more days to disappear from this house. I just came to warn you.” He said sternly and walked out.
“Flora it is enough, crying won’t solve anything.” Flora’s mom consoled.
“But mom where would I go from here? How sure am I my husband would accept me back. It’s been months since I left home mom, months!”
“I know dear, and I understand your sense of reasoning; but at least there’s no harm in trying.
You need to call him. That’s the first thing to do.”
“No no no. Frank would not accept me back. Besides, I’ve been calling for sometime now when dad’s threat was still mild but it never went through even once. I think he has blocked my line.” She said as her mom thought for a while.
“Okay, use my phone then.” She said as she handed over her phone to her there and then.
Flora was resistant at first but with an assuring look from her mother, she took the phone to dial the number.
“Hello? Hello? Who’s this, please?” They both could hear Frank say over the phone as it was placed on loud speaker.
Her mom motioned on her to say something but she cut the call instead.
“You just wasted my card shey you know.” Her pissed mom said.
“I’m sorry Mom, I’d buy another for you this evening.”
“Don’t bother. You better sort yourself out before dad throws you out.
You heard him, you have two more days under his roof. Me I’ve tried my best.” She said and walked out.
“Who does he think he is? I just wish I could get the opportunity of handling his neck……he would’ve been $trangled to de.ath by now.”.
Richard thought to himself angrily as he sat home, reflecting what had been happening in office for sometime now.
“I should teach that boy a lesson his father never taught him.” He thought to himself and was devising ways of revenging on K when his wife interrupted his thoughts.
“Babe Junior needs some money for a new uniform.” She said softly as she came to join him in bed.
“Okay, give him some then.”
“I don’t have any.” She said with a low and disappointed tone.
“Then what’s your usefulness in his life if you can’t give him simple money to look good?” He said, facing her.
He hadn’t said much but tears had filled her eyes already and threatening to fall.
“Are you seriously talking to me that way?” She asked, her lips shivering in whimpers.
“Is there any other person in this room at the moment?”
“It’s okay, it’s fine. Treat me anyhow you want to, it’s fine.” She said and with that quietly left the room.
“How did I even end up with this pest in the first place?” He thought aloud to her hearing as she walked out silently.
