SEASON 2 EPISODE 36
“Here, done.” Richard said as he threw a file at K’s desk who investigated the contents.
“Nice, this is better.”
“So we can go on with this one?” Richard asked.
“Yes, please.”
“As you wish, Sire.” Richard said with a funny gesture as he smirked and walked out.
“Hmmm…..has he changed for real or what’s up with this new attitude of his?” K thought to himself on thinking of the friendly attitude he had just put up.
“I hope so, I really hope so.”
Richard returned to his office with a smile. Judging from K’s receptive nature, he felt his plan was going to work out fine.
“Once I gain his trust, I’d strike!” He said to himself as he made a phone call with a hushed tone.
“If he ever thinks we’d be friends, he’s a joker.” He said as he put his phone down and laughed out loud.
Frank has been receiving lots of call for sometime now, both from office and an unknown number.
While the calls from office was a plea to return back to duty, the unknown number would not say a thing but cut the call after five seconds.
Whenever he tried calling back, the caller wouldn’t pick.
He thought of who that could be for a while and waved it off to focus on something else.
He is very grateful to God for counting him worthy of having a purposeful life again.
He however still prays his wife returns soon, as he is already making plans to move back to where he had run from.
“Why don’t you call her?” His instincts suggested to him.
“No, that wouldn’t be wise. It’s possible she’s still annoyed.”
Eunice stared pitifully at Vivian as she watched her peacefully sleep in her hostel.
“If only you were strong spiritually.” She said with a sad sigh and made incantations which would have effect on her the next morning.
“Flora you need to eat at least, hunger strike wouldn’t solve anything.” Flora’s mom said, persuading her to have dinner.
“Mom how can I eat when my life is stranded? I have few days to stay here and I’m scared of returning to my husband because I doubt I he’d accept me since I left when he needed me the most.
I don’t know where to go with these kids. I’m confused mom, I’m just so confused.” Flora said, staring into space.
“Have you called him?”
“Yes.”
“And?”
“And nothing.”
“What do you mean ‘And nothing’? What did he say?” She asked as Flora shrugged.
“Mom I called him but didn’t say a word.”
“Because I’m……” Flora wanted to respond but her mom cut in.
“Scared of what? Why do you always love to base on assumptions and not facts? Why don’t you put your fears behind you and call your husband. If he rejects you, then we know that as a fact, and not basing on an assumption that may end up being false.”
“I tried mother. Three times. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.”
“Try again. In my presence.” She said, but Flora shook her head.
“No, I don’t want to use my line or even yours.”
“So which one did you use when you claimed to have called thrice now?”
“I used Anabelle’s line.”
“The recharge card seller?”
“Yes Ma.”
“Are you that……oh my God. I don’t even know what to say to you.
Just know you’d have to face your fears very soon.”
“Hello? Any information yet?” Richard asked on a phone call at his office.
“Oh you’ve gotten his address? Good job! Didn’t know you were that smart.
Okay so you’re to strike in three days time at exactly 8pm. I’m sure he’d be home by then.
I’d send in the money as soon as the job is done.
Remember, I didn’t ask you to terminate, only teach him a lesson.
Do you understand? Make no mistakes on this, please.”
Alice was running an errand for her boss.
She was sent to deliver a file to her former boss Mr. Richard to oversee the documents.
“I didn’t ask you to terminate him, only teach him a lesson.” She heard Mr. Richard say on getting close to his office. She decided to eavesdrop a little by the window which was always closed.
“From the information I’ve gathered, he lives alone so there’d be no witnesses.
You can damage his properties but please don’t take his life.
I only want to teach him a lesson, I’m not interested in his death.” He heard him say as she closed her mouth in shock and quietly walked back to her office. Thankfully, she wasn’t on heels that very day.
“But who could Mr. Richard be planning against? My boss or who? No, I think it’s Mr. Kingsley. Should I tell him or not?” She thought to herself as she went back to her duty post.
“Vivian your temperature is really high, high enough to boil water. You should see the doctor.” Cindy said as she baby-sat her roommate who had fallen really sick overnight.
“I feel…..I want to go home first.” Vivian said in shivers.
“Home? Babe this is second semester and test is in few weeks. How would you want to cope if you go home. And your house is far again.” Cindy discouraged.
“Babe you’d go to the clinic to get yourself checked, because I don’t understand this kind of sickness.
I mean you were perfect fine yesterday but now the case is different.
Apart from your temperature, you’ve been vomiting all over the place too.
Ah no, we’d go to the school clinic to get yourself checked first, and not going home.
At least to find out what exactly is wrong with you.”
Frank sat with Mr. And Mrs. Desmond, informing them of his plans to go back to his state and resume his former office.
“Are you sure about this? I don’t think my boss will…..” Mr. Desmond asked when the two men were left alone.
“Don’t worry about that. I’d inform him myself.”
“But what about the financial help you’re receiving from him?”
“About that? My people really want me back and have sent some money they called ‘Persuading fee’, and it’s more than enough to take care of me for two months.”
“Persuading fee? That’s so funny.”
“It was funny to me when I recieved the alert and Fedrick called it that name. Anyways, it is what it is.”
“I’m so happy God has settled you now. I can imagine how happy you must be getting back on your feet again.”
“Yes o, I’ve tasted and seen that the Lord is good.
Besides, I’m really sorry for all the troubles I’ve caused you during my stay here, especially the drama with your daughter. Believe me, I wasn’t myself in any way.”
“Sure, I knew that. Your behavior said so.”
“I would love to apologise to the little girl too, and her mother if you won’t mind.”
“Uhmmm, that wouldn’t be necessary. My wife may become aggressive if she’s reminded of the incident, so I suggest you let the sleeping dog lie.”
“Okay then.”
“Well, what of your wife? She isn’t back from the village yet?” Mr. Desmond asked as Frank kept quiet for so long that made him feel he pressed the wrong button.
“I’m sorry if I went too personal, I’m just concerned about….”
“No it’s fine. She isn’t back yet but I am hoping she’d be back soon. I’m delaying my plans because of her but I need to leave unfailingly next week.”
“Oh okay.” Mr. Desmond said.
He had the urge to ask about his father but ignored it. They weren’t that close to be discussing personal issues.
“Food is ready.” Mrs. Desmond announced as they duo set out to meet the rest of the family.
