CHEATED SEASON 2 : EPISODE 21 – THE END

SEASON 2 EPISODE 23

Eunice and Hamen have been quiet for a while and staring at each other, with Hamen wearing a mischievous smile.

Hamen had called for a private meeting with Eunice to map out their strategies, for which Eunice showed up hesitantly as the mere sight if him pissed her off and brewed hatred in her.

“Why am I here?” Eunice spoke up after a great while of silence, eying him.

“Relax dead mortal, you need……”

“We’re both mortals Hamen, so please don’t call me that. I also have tons of subjects under my command too, remember?” She retorted abruptly as Hamen’s eyes widened in shock.

No one ever dared call him by name, and with such audacity.

“Hmmm…..I see you’ve grown wings, right?”

“How? Because I called you by your name?”

“Eunice, Eunice, Eunice.” Hamen called out calmly as he walked around her in circles.

“You know no matter the level of hatred you have towards me, I still deserve and demand your respect as your superior.”

“Superior indeed.” She said with a spat on the floor.

“If you really were a superior as you claim, how come you lost a soul entrusted in your care not long ago?” She sneered. One could see a shocking expression on his face.

“How did you know about that? Who gave you such information?”

“Have you forgotten I’m the news itself? Bug of course this particular one I just blabbed out, has reached the ears of each and every one in the sect.”

“Hmmm…..I see.”

“So tell me, how come despite your being superior and really powerful, you lost the battle for the soul of Mbakwe?” She asked tauntingly, making him shrug.

“I don’t lose out on such battles, but his was a different case. Apart from him becoming too hot for me to handle, the Great One had a special interest in his case.” He responded uncomfortably as Eunice burst into a mocking laughter.

“Oh really? And you still have the pride to show your face here as a reinforcement and bossy of being my superior?” She asked to his annoyance.

“Enough!” He roared as fire surrounded him.

“Don’t you dare insult me.” He said as he forcefully grabbed her arm.

His reaction frightened Eunice a little, but doesn’t intend giving fear an inch in his presence.

“Hamen you should know by now that Eunice is a very stubborn subject.” She said with a smirk as he shot a deadly glare at her. He wished he could wound her badly, but that would be a forbidden act.

“You’re so daring, aren’t you? Anyway, I summoned you here for business so let’s strictly get down to it.” He said with a serious tone, releasing her from his grip.

“So our victim, des…..”

“She’s my victim, not ‘ours’. When we pull her down, I’d take the credit for her downfall and not us both, so mind your speech. I won’t let you trick me once more.” She warned sternly as he smirked and then continued.

“If you say so. Our victim, describe her and her present state.”

“Vivian is her name. In the physical world, she’s my grand-daughter and the most spiritually sensitive in the family. Despite being the only child of her parents, she isn’t spoilt but well-trained and responsible.” She said as she spread out her fingers which automatically displayed Vivian’s picture like a human body anatomy.

“Okay, fair enough for an introduction. What’s her present spiritual state?”

“Lukewarm. She was once cold when I fully had her in my grip buy I don’t know what recently motivated her to rekindle the fire on her prayer altar, and with the way things are going, I fear I’d lose her soon and that’d be disasterous for me.” Eunice responded, with a tint of concern and fear in her voice.

“Hmmm….like losing that soul was, and still is a disaster to me.” He muttered beneath his breath as he looked away.

“You said something?” Eunice asked, not hearing what he had said properly.

“Nothing. So what attempts have you presently made to stop her from fully being hot enough to defeat and stop you?”

“Presently nothing, because I was thrown so into confusion as soon as I got to know about the recent development that I didn’t know what to do.”

“Discouragement.”

“What?”

“That’s the most effective weapon we have in our armory, that does the magic of breaking the walls of protection barricading our victims.”

“Hmmm……how did you get to know that?”

“Believe me, I learnt that the hard way.”

“Hmmmm…..okay so now what?”

“Send discouragement to her spirit, either as an arrow, a thought or spirit. According to what you told me, her fire is still small, so resistance would be incredibly low.

“You’re welcome, Mr. Kingsley.” One of the councils said as he walked in, offering him a seat.

“Thank you Sir.” K responded as he sat, quietly saying a word of prayer in his heart for the interview to go well.

“We’re so sorry this interview was impromptu. We are in need of an urgent replacement, that’s why we didn’t give enough time to get prepared for our questions.”

“Okay Sir.” K responded.

“We recently went through our file and found in our records that’s you’ve applied for a job here before….though that was quite a long time ago.

We also noticed you weren’t interviewed despite the high qualifications in the CV you submitted, so we decided to do so as soon as possible, hoping you wouldn’t be taken already, judging from how wealthy your CV is.” A woman amongst the team said as K nodded in understanding.

“I hope we didn’t disrupt anything.”

“Not at all Ma.”

“Good then. So let’s begin!” The man who welcomed him said as they began asking him questions to which he gave brilliant replies.

They then probed him on leadership and skilled needed for human management and were amazed at his prompt and concise responses.

It was like he had made a thorough research on what to say and how to respond.

“Do we really have to question this fellow any further? It’s obvious we’ve found a perfect candidate for the vacant position in this company.” The man exclaimed and turned to face K.

“Congratulations Mr. Kingsley, you’ve got the job.” The man said as the word ‘congratulations’ kept ringing in K’s ears that he didn’t hear the rest of what she said.

“When would you love to resume to work?” He asked.

“As soon as possible. My services are ever ready to be rendered Sir.” He responded in smiles.

“Monday is good then. Or what do you think?” He asked the woman, seeking her consent before making a crucial decision.

“Sure, of course.”

“Good. So Mr. Kingsley…..what’s the surname again?”

“Nwankwo Sir.”

“Oh okay. So my Kingsley Nwankwo, I’m happy to inform you you’ve got the job, and are to resume on Monday unfailingly.

Your appointment comes with a company house, a mouthwatering salary and of course, a car.

Once again, congratulations.” He said as he extended his hands to shake K who was overwhelmed with joy.

He thanked the Council and left the premises in a joyous mood.

“At last! Thank you Jesus!”
