CHEATED SEASON 2 EPISODE 27

Mbakwe was beginning to get stronger in the spirit as he kept building himself with the word of God and prayers daily.

He was so grateful to God for his deliverance from the grip of Hamen, whose long-term torture on him initially made him think the captivity was never going to end, but here he was!

He has began thinking of his soon, worried about his whereabouts as he hasn’t been able to reach him for quite a while now.

He was initially happy about that, when Hamen wanted him badly, but now he really needed to reach outto his son and at least have a word with him.

“I’ve lost the contact of the fellow I gave charge to cater for him at the moment, and Frank’s phone has been unreachable as well.” He soliloquized.

“Well, since Hamen has been forced to give up on our case, I’m here he’s in safe hands and there’s no cause for alarm.
I trust God he’s okay wherever he is.” He thought conclusively.

For quite a while now, Frank doesn’t know the whereabout of his phone or his sim.

He has searched for it where he thought he placed it but he hasn’t found it there.
Today, he felt the urge to look for it once more but all attempts still proved abortive.

“Who knows me anyway.” He said as he gave up on his search.

While resting, he thought on his life.
He smiled as the thought came to him. He was beginning to feel his life would soon take to shape.

He didn’t know how soon, but he knew it would happen.
Sequel to this, he has stopped making negative pronouncements upon his life and started reading his Bible more often for the purpose of looking for and confessing the promises of God for his life.

Amidst all these, he hasn’t forgotten his beloved wife and mentions her each day in his short private prayers, hoping that one day, just one day, she’d return back to to him.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning. Kelvin was up earlier than usual and felt some unusual happiness within. He knew what it meant, as this wouldn’t be the first time God would be speaking to him this way.

“Something real good is gonna come my way today.” He soliloquized, admiring his handsome self in his dressing mirror before setting out for church.

“Don’t use this for today; take a public transport instead.” He heard a voice within say as he got into his car and was about leaving the compound.

“As you wish.”

Rose has promised herself the previous Sunday to be early today, so she refused to snoozed the alarm when it rang loudly beside he bed.

“Being up so early isn’t easy at all.” She groaned as she smashed her hand against the clock and dragged herself to the restroom.

Soon she was all dressed in her self-made flowery gown, taking a brown bag and shoe to complement her outfit.

Her leaving he house earlier made the a taxi easy to come by as they were the ones waiting for passengers instead.

“Good morning Sir.” She greeted Mr. Vincent the head of the Usher’s department, who she met as she walked in.

“My favourite usher!” He hailed as Rose couldn’t help but smile.

“You’re quite early today. Hmmm, I’m impressed.”

“Thank you Sir.” She said and thereafter he assigned some duties to her.

Kelvin was keenly listening to the preaching for the day, when suddenly he got attracted to the female usher who had walked past him more then twice now.

Staring at her for the third time now, he knew there was something about her he might be interested in.

This was somewhat strange this wasn’t the first time he’s sighting her in church.

She was someone every regular member would easily recognize as her dressing would always stand out, despite being on uniform with the rest of her colleagues.

Soon service was over and Kelvin made his way towards where the ushering team gather at the end of each service.
He decided to patiently wait for the lady who seemed to be busy amongst them.

“Hello Miss Rose.” He called as he caught up with her on her way out of the church premises.

“Uhmm…hi, good afternoon. Happy Sunday.” She said with a confused look; she didn’t recall seeing or knowing this fellow from anywhere.

“The same to you. How was the service?”

“Oh it went well, thank you.”

“We thank God for that.” Kelvin said and kept quiet for a while, thinking of the best topic to bring up and keep the conversation going.

“Ehmm…..sorry, have we met before?” He heard Rose ask.

“Not really. This is our first conversation. Why? You nervous?”

“No…” She said with a chuckle.

“I was only wondering how you got to know my name since I don’t know you.” She said as he chuckled a little before responding.

“Well, I don’t think there’s anyone in this youth church that doesn’t know your name, at least.”

“Oh wow. Really? Why’s that?”

“Your dressing. You’re always in a pretty dress that speak volume about your personality and makes it irresistible for a reasonable person to not want to at least know a tiny information about you.” He responded, making her laugh out loud.

“Really? Are you whining me or what?”

“No I’m serious.”

“Wow, I didn’t know o. The funny part is all those clothes were made by me, and there were some I’m not really confident in.” She responded.

“Wow, why that?”

“I don’t know. I just feel insecure in some of them. Maybe it’s because the way it turned out wasn’t my initial plan or something like that.”

“Hmm….and this one you’re wearing? Does it make you insecure as well?”

“Lol…..no. This is actually my favourite so far.” Rose said and at this point, they had reached the church gate.

“Oh really? Wow! I should recommend you to someone because you’re honestly so good at your craft.” He said as she chuckled a bit.

“Where are you going?” He asked and secretly wished they were heading the same direction which he later found out not to be the case.

“I’d see you later then, probably next Sunday or during one of the weekly services.” He said.

“No problem.” She responded and was about leaving when he called her back.

“If you don’t mind, can I have your digits?” He asked as she paused for a while like someone who was thinking of what to say.

She eventually obliged, but gave him the number that wasn’t linked with her WhatsApp.

“Thanks. I’d call you later in the day or the next, most especially to be sure it’s working.” He said as she smiled.

“Haba. It’s not fake na. You can call now sef.”

“I would’ve, but I have a flat battery.”

“Okay then, no problem.”

“Take care of yourself then, and expect my call too.”

“Okay no problem.” She responded and from there parted ways.
