?Beverly?
“Carl?”. I called softly. “Did something happen?”.
His beautiful eyes looked sad. “That was Mia, Bryan’s sister”.
“Why did she call? It sounded urgent”.
“Bryan is no where to be found”.
“What?!!”. I shrieked.
He frowned. “Where could Bryan have gone to?”.
“When did he go missing?”.
He stood up. “Beverly, let me take you home then I’ll go look for Bryan”.
“No, I’ll go with you”. I said standing up too.
“Beverly ..”.
“Let me help you find him”. I insisted.
He sighed. “Okay fine, lets go”.
I took my things and followed Carl out of the bakery, we went to the car getting in.
Carl started the car immediately and drove off.
“Where do you think he is?”.
“I really don’t know, maybe somewhere”.
“But he couldn’t have gone missing like that”. I told him.
“Yeah I know but Bryan is hard to understand sometimes”.
I watched him as his hold on the steering wheel tightened.
“We’ll find him”. I reassured him.
“I hope so”. He muttered in response.
For a while, Carl drove around but we didn’t see any sign of Bryan anywhere, both downtown and at the sides.
Carl stopped the car by a curb and hit the steering wheel hard.
“Carl, stop it”.
“I can’t find my best friend and I have absolutely no idea of where he might be”.
Where could Bryan be?
“Has this happened before?”. I asked curious.
He nodded. “Yeah when Gabriella left him, he had ran after her but this is different”.
“Wait, this happened when Gabriella left?”.
“Thats exactly what I just said”.
I tapped my head frustratingly. “Gosh!! Elsa”.
Carl looked at me. “What?”.
“Elsa went over to his place earlier, she said she needed to find out the truth from Bryan”. I told him.
He ran his hands through his hair. “He remembered”.
“Huh?”.
“Elsa might have said something”.
“She did say something about finding out why Kyle hated Bryan”.
“Fvck!!”. He cussed. “Brie”.
“Huh?”.
“When Gabriella knew about what he did to Brie, she left him and Bryan became miserable”.
“Where do you think he is?”.
He sighed. “I hope he isn’t doing something stupid”.
“Do you think he will__”.
He cut me off. “Bryan can’t go that extreme”.
He started the car again and started driving.
“Where are you driving to?”.
He didn’t respond instead he drove at full speed. I was surprised when he went past a road. I know this place.
“He’s there”. He mumbled.
He drive on the road faster and slowed down when he was past a church. He parked the car around that area.
He got out of the car and i followed suit, he went ahead to where grasses were, it was like a graveyard, a burial ground.
“Why are we here?”. I asked him.
Carl stopped and I saw what he was looking at, Bryan was crouched in front of one of the slab.
I walked with Carl over to him, i could see Brie Lawson written on the cement slab.
“Dude!!”. Carl called.
Bryan stood up and hugged Carl immediately, i knew he was crying because of the sniffs i heard.
G0sh!! He’s really going through a lot. I thought as I watched him cry. Weird because he always looked tough in school but seeing him now, he looked fragile.
I cleared my throat. “Carl”.
He looked at me. “Yeah?”.
“I have to go now”.
“Let me take you home”. He said pulling away from Bryan.
“No its okay. I’ll just take a cab”.
“Beverly__”.
“Stay with Bryan, he needs you”. I told him.
I gave him a peck on his cheek and walked away thinking of Bryan.
I never knew someone like him would be going through a lot. I mean, whatever he did to that Brie Lawson girl, i’m sure he regretted it and felt sorry.
Why can’t Kyle Vegas just forgive and forget? Look at what Bryan is passing through and I’m sure he doesn’t know that.
I decided to take a glance at them, i looked back and saw Bryan still sobbing quietly while Carl soothed him.
Elsa is going to hear from me when I get home, what did she even tell him that made him that way?
I stopped by the road and flagged down a cab. A cab stopped and I got in.
Finally I reached my place, i rushed to the main door and opened it with my key.
“Beverly”.
I hugged her. “Good evening, Mum”.
“Hey, Tristan told me you had a date”.
“I’ll tell you all about it later”. I pecked her cheeks. “I have to talk to Elsa”.
“Okay then, she’s in her room”.
I nodded and ran up the stairs, i went to the Elsa’s room and opened the door stepping in. She was on her bed under the covers.
I went over and pulled back the duvet.
She sat up. “Beverly?”.
I crossed my arms. “What did you do?”.
She furrowed her eyebrows. “Huh?”.
“I’m talking about Bryan”.
She flopped back on the bed. “I’m not interested in talking”.
“What the heck did you do to him? He looked broken when I saw him”.
“I only asked him a question”. She replied.
“And that triggered his past”.
“Why are you talking like I did something bad”.
I scoffed. “You did something more than bad? I clearly told you to ignore Kyle”.
“I just need to know what Kyle meant by what he said”.
“If Bryan wants to tell you then he will”.
“Whose side are you on anyways?”. She shouted.
“I’m on Bryan’s side”. I told her.
“I didn’t do anything bad, Beverly. He didn’t even tell me anything”.
“But I told you not to ask him”.
“Sorry I didn’t listen, Mum”. She said sarcastically.
“If you really liked Bryan then you wouldn’t have caused him this much pain”. I fired at her and left her room immediately.
?Elsa?
I glanced at Bryan again in class, his head was on the desk as usual.
What Beverly said kept on ringing in my ears ‘If you really liked Bryan then you wouldn’t have caused him this much pain’.
Its been two weeks since I have been avoiding Bryan. He’s been trying to talk to me in different classes but I just ignored him.
I do not want to cause him more pain like before so its better he should forget about me. I’ve been hurting too since Beverly refused to talk to me, she thinks I caused everything.
It was obvious that Bryan has not been himself these weeks and it added to the fact that he was always staring at me in class.
I can’t even concentrate in class at all, i heaved a sigh of relief when the bell rang signaling lunch break.
I packed my books then wore my backpack rushing out of class. I decided to go to the library since I need some alone time.
I stopped when I saw Gabriella.
She smirked. “If it isn’t Elsa Reyes”.
“What do you want now?”.
She has been trying to make fun of me ever since she found out that Bryan and I were no longer that close anymore.
“Nothing, just sad for you and of course Bryan”.
I rolled my eyes. “I see you have nothing better to talk about”.
“I just want to remind you that you left him eventually just like I expected”.
“You need to stop prying into my private life”. I told her off.
I walked past her and suddenly someone pushed me into an empty class. I hit the person immediately and he groaned.
“Kyle?”. I asked surprised.
“Elsa, we need to talk. You’ve been avoiding me”. He said.
Oh yeah. Did I mention i avoided both Kyle and Bryan? I really don’t wanna get caught up in their mess.
“There’s nothing we need to talk about”.
“Elsa, I like you”.
“So?”. I asked. “What the heck should I do about that?”.
“Why you are sounding that way?”.
“Just let me be. Kyle”.
“Why are you acting like this anyways? I thought you are not with Bryan”.
“Just because Bryan and I are not in talking terms doesn’t mean I will say yes to you”.
He crossed his arms. “So you are saying you will rather choose Bryan over me?”.
“Yes Kyle, yes. I will always choose Bryan over you because I love him the more”.
He scoffed. “Love? You love that asshole?”.
“Don’t you dare insult him”. I defended Bryan.
“I will because he deserves it being the criminal he is”. He shouted.
“Stop saying that about him, you don’t know the real Bryan”. I told him.
“Well I do know that he’s a rapist”.
I stopped in shock. “What?”.
He chuckled. “So he didn’t tell you? Huh?”.
“What the heck are you saying?”. I asked curious.
“What I am saying is that he raped my girlfriend, Brie, just because she refused his stupid advances”.
I was stunned by what Kyle said? Bryan did that? It was like my head swiveled around. I couldn’t even think anymore as what Kyle said sinked into my mind.
