CHAPTER 4
CAFETERIA.
Kimberly was eating together with Onda when someone suddenly placed a milk on their table. Kimberly looks up to who it is and frowns.
“Peace offering” He smiles down at her while she rolled her face.
“Do you want your nose broken too?” Kimberly asked facing her food back.
“Of course not…I value it more than anything else” Jade replied taking a seat beside her.
“Hey pumpkim” He greeted Onda whose face turned red immediately.
“H…hi…ja…de…” Her voice came out tiny that one could hardly hear what she is saying. She adjusted her glasses well biting her lower lip.
“I apologize so no more bickering”
“What are you? His spokesman?”
“His buddy” Jade grins.
“Can you get lost? Because of you I’m getting unnecessary attention” Kimberly said and Jade looks around only to find the girls attention already on them.
“Oh come on don’t be like this you’re breaking my heart” He touch his heart.
“Do you want me to break your ribs too?” She threatened showing him the fork in her hand.
“Alright…cool down…I’m leaving” He stood up surrendering.
“Work on your attitude babe…goodbye pumpkin” He winks at Onda who wouldn’t stop blushing and smiling.
“Fool” Kimberly mutters.
“You don’t have to send him away” Onda voiced out.
“Yeah don’t remind me you’ve got a $illy crush on that n!twit”
“It’s not like that…it’d just be nice if we’re all friends”
“That’s explains why your cheeks are burning up”
Onda touched her cheek and smiles.
Kimberly sneers but that was short lived when she discover a presence next to her.
“What do you want?” She said rather harshly while Verna smile.
“Let’s make a deal” Verna smiles.
“I’m not interested in you so fk off”
“You like my step brother right?”
“So?”
“Hook me up with Jade and I’ll help you out with Diego” Verna said confidently folding her arms.
Onda eyes widened and she looks over to Kimberly expecting her answer.
Kimberly stood up and face her smiling.
“How would you like to fk off?” She smiles at her.
“It’s okay…you can take your your time to think about it” Verna smiles back then Sashayed away from them. Onda bit her lips.
“I’m…I’m gonna…use the…rest…room” She said before rushing out of the cafeteria.

RESTROOM.
“Hey nerd” Verna called entering the restroom. She had actually followed her earlier.
Onda stopped washing her hands and made to go out but Verna double crossed her.
“I’m talking to you nerd” she said again.
“Wha…what do you…want…from me..?”
“You seem relaxed…why? Happy now that you’ve got a friend?”
“I…I gotta go…” Onda said in a rush made to run out but Verna grabbed her by the hair back.
“Ahhh! Let go it hurts!!” She cried but Verna push in into one of the stalls locking the door.
Forcefully, she dipped her head into water closet. Onda struggled to set free but Verna was much stronger.
She started to become suffocated as she couldn’t breathe in the water. Verna pulled her head up and dipped it in again.
“You think I don’t know you’ve got a stupid thing for Jade uh?” She gritted holding her neck tightly.
“Do you think you’ve got the right to do that?! Jade is mine…mine alone people like you don’t even deserve to look him in the eye!” She yelled as Onda continue struggling.
She was already gurgling and wasn’t breathing too well. Verna pulled her out again and she started coughing.
“Verna please! I promise to stay away from him…I won’t even look at him so please sto_”
Her statement wasn’t completed before her head got dipped into the water closet again.
“Don’t think I’m a fo.ol because I let you off…you know I haven’t gotta play toy ever since you’ve got a hero…maybe I should just take you back uh!”
“Listen attentively…the next time you act out of your place I’mma kill you myself got that!!!” She spat.
“Bch” she got out of the stall while Onda sat on the floor coughing repeatedly. She coughs so hard that she didn’t realize when she started crying along.

Jay got out of the broadcasting room with smiles all over his face. He straighten his neck then brought out a lollipop unwrapping it.
“As usual…nothing is sweeter than sweet itself” He chuckles inserting the lollipop in his mouth.
“Oh it’s my bestie” He grins on spoting Kimberly. Swiftly, he ran to her linking hands with her.
“You stink get off” Kimberly said trying to get him off her.
“Did you get my message?”
“Tell that player of a friend of yours not to show up in front of me anymore or I’ll just kll you both” Kimberly said while he chuckles.
“But you aren’t with that nerdy friend of yours?”
“Do you like her?”
“Do I look like someone who could like someone like her?”
“Then buzz off” She shook him off leaving.
“Where the fk is she?” Kimberly mumbles bringing out her phone. She dialled Onda’s number but got no response. Just then a message came in.
“Kiki I think I’m gonna leave first…i got a emergency at home…I’ll see you tomorrow”? the message says. She sighs and another message came in.

BASKETBALL COURT.
Kimberly got to the basketball’s court but saw no one.
“How strange” she mutters looking at the message an unknown number sent to her.
“How lame” She mumbles before keeping her phone back into her pocket.
She was about heading out when she suddenly stop and look back at the net. An image of Diego playing played in her mind.
She had always watch him secretly while he plays. A smile creeped to her lips and she went towards the ball picking it up.
“If I could score a goal within three hits…then I would just go for it” She said to herself peering at the ball. Determined she threw it at the net but it flew off somewhere else.
She ran to the ball and picked it up throwing it again..it went off the net. These continue for a while that she started to feel frustrated.
She mussed to her hair in exasperation that it became a mess. Tired she fell to the floor breathing heavily.
“Why is it so dmn hard!” She exclaimed peering at the ceiling.
“Your body is too rigid” She heard a manly voice behind her. It sounded familiar.
She sprang up and look behind her only to find Diego coming from a corner. He had actually been watching her.
“Di..di…die…go?” She called shockingly.
“Pick up the ball” He said and she did immediately.
“Here”
“Throw” He said maintaining the same expression. A blank expression. Kimberly turns back at him and aim the ball to the net.
The fact that Diego is with her right now is enough to make her go loco. She released a light gasped when he suddenly held her hand from behind.
Her heartbeat increases as her face got heated up. His breath slowly fan her face she shudder as their body touches.
“Oh no…I’m going crazy seriously…” She thought within biting her lips.
“Concentrate” His voice sounded to her earring and she nodded trying to.
“Relax…don’t be so stiff” He said placing his palm on her stomach. She went totally out of it.
“Breath…calm your nerves” He added and she exhale trying to comport herself.
“Now take a shot” He said again throwing her hand with the ball. It went directly into the net.
“Wow…” Her face lightened up. He released his hold on her pocketing his hands.
“Thank…you..Die…go” She said shyly but he says nothing walking out of the basketball court.
Kimberly face got heated up on remembering their proximity earlier.
“Gosh I’m going ¢razy!” She slaps her cheeks repeatedly grinning at the same time.
Diego met Verna who was waiting outside already.
“Don’t make me do this anymore…it’s lame” He said before walking away. Verna smiles and walked inside the basketball court meeting the excited Kim.
“So have you thought about it?” She asked behind her with her arms folded. Kim turns over to see her.
“I could give you tips to win him over…all I need is your corporation” She smiles at Kimberly who just suck on her lower lips.
Onda sat at the amphitheatre..her eyes were already red from crying.
She had finally thought she’ll have peace ever since Kim saved her from Verna who makes life unbearable for her everyday but seems it was just all her wishful thinking. Maybe it’s just not her fate to be happy.
“Hey pumpkin!!” She heard a familiar voice snapping her out of her thoughts.
“Jade?” She mutters to herself and snap her face forward to see him waving at her.
She let out a smile but it disappeared on remembering Verna’s warnings. She stood up and made to leave but he ran to her.
Eventually he catches her by the shoulders and turns her face to face with him. She avoid his gaze.
“Hey what’s with you? Didn’t you see me? I was waving” He quizzed bending his face so their eye level are of the same. She looks at him and their eyes met.
Verna warnings rang in her ears and she immediately stepped back.
“St…stayy aw…way frrr…om…mee” she said with shaky voice and before Jade could say jerk. She ran away.
“What’s wrong with her?” Jade thought watching her run away as he itch his hair.
