DARE TO LEAVE
Episode 16
Lydia cried her eyes out and fell asleep. She woke up and felt her head pounding. She walked to the bathroom to get aspirin but she realized it wasn’t her bathroom and the lockers were empty.
Her reflection in the mirror made her even more sad, her eyes were swollen and she had heavy eye bags. And they were still marks from his finger impact on her cheeks.
Now she can’t even help the tears… They roll down quickly and she burst into all round tears.
Her marriage of eight years is about to crumble infact it has started crumbling and she’s scared she might not be able to move pass this
After crying her eyes out again, she watched her face and tried to ignore the thud in her chest.
How can she go out like this with that mark on her face and eye bags….. Even with sunglasses she still wouldn’t be able to cover up.
But now she needs to leave this house, staying here would only remind her of the coward she has always been…. She would go pick up her car and spend the rest of the week somewhere out of town just to clear her head.
She is still in her yesterday’s wear but that’s not an issue…. Getting out of here… Is
When she opened the door, she was obstructed with a tray filled with breakfast hanging in her face.
Ken was carrying the tray with bread, butter and tea. He wore a big smile on his face.
“Good morning my love ”
She took a step back quickly and shut the door back to his face.
What is he doing? How long has he been standing there?
He practically begged her all night but that’s not going to change what he did, the things he said and he has treated her in the last one week.
What is he thinking?
That a nice gesture will just wipe out everything that has happened. That seeing him feel sorry will just erase his wrongs.
This is why she needs to leave this house……as soon as possible.. His nice gesture may just have an impact on her judgment and then all will be forgiven and the needful will never be done.
She paced around the room for a while before she opened the door
He’s still there with the stupid tray.
She pushed past him and moved towards the stairs..
“Lydia honey…. Wait”
“Don’t touch me ”
She said quickly as she moved down the stairs.
“Baby.. Please let’s talk about it”.
She hurried down the stairs and he trailed closer behind her.
“Plssssss……… My love, let’s just talk things through, I made a mistake ”
“A mistake…. ” she scoff
“OK plenty of mistakes but I swear I never meant to hurt you… You know that I would never intentionally hurt you…… I love you. You know that I do”.
When they finish mounting the stairs….. Victoria was sitting in the living room.
“What’s going on here”
Lydia nod her head at the intruder.
B!tch ……. Would she pretend like she didn’t hear them argue all night.
“Please don’t interfere… Vic, just stay out of it ”
Lydia stopped on her tracks and looked at the brother and his sister.
“Ohh so now you can ask her to stay out of it… All the time you let her intrude and cause troubles for us… You didn’t know, when you let her lie to You and turn you into a drunk… You had no idea…. While she continually disgrace me in my own home… You didn’t care, when she was always talking to me like a piece of trash you didn’t realize it then…. You allow her make a fool out of me and you just fold your hands and do nothing”.
“Hello…… I didn’t do any of that… Stop talking about me like am not here ”
“Shuuuttt Up”. Lydia and Ken yelled at Victoria together and Victoria was slightly terrified.
“Just shut up Vic…”
“But she’s making all this up.. ”
“I thought I told you to keep quiet…. Baby I am so sorry for everything…. I shouldn’t have kept quiet.. I shouldnt have…..I promise you that you it will never happen again. I swear ”
“What you are now is the monster behind the mask… The one you have been trying so hard to hide…… I don’t blame you… Though.. I blame myself for seeing all that and trying to make excuses for you…… But a leopard can not hide his skin…. You can’t be the shadow of your own self. This is who you are.. The sooner I accept that the better”
She hurried out of the house and Ken ran after her, begging and trying to convince her to stay
She took a cab and left him standing.

Pascal was worried about Lydia all day, he tried to call her line but she wasn’t responding and now it’s no longer rechargeable.
Of course Lucia had made him lose an important client because of her crazy tactics
And Jenny informed him that she had shown up at her house in his car, created a scene, broke her phone and threatened her.
He should have known she was lying when she said Lydia was thinking of getting a surrogate when infact she was about to adopt.
But he hadn’t heard from her since that night so he needed to know she was doing OK
But he can’t reached her on the reach her on phone.
After work he decided to drop by at her place and check up on her
He rang the bell severally before the door was opened by another lady.
“Uhhhm… Hi.. Am here to see Lydia. Is she home”
Victoria glared at the handsome man in front of her and smack her lips together
“Lydia…. She’s not in”
“Ohh okay… Would you let her know that I was here pls”
She smiled but she’s pretty sure Lydia wouldn’t be coming home soon
“Yeah sure…… But you do know this is her husband’s house right and she’s married”
“Yeah.. I know am just a friend ”
“A very…. Handsome friend ”
“Thank You for your time ”
“Uhhm wait…. Are you sure you don’t want to come in and wait for her”
“No…. It fine.. Thanks ”
“OK.. So who should I say dropped by”
“Pascal”
“Alright fine…. Pascal.. Do stop by later… I make really yummy pancakes…. I hope you like pancakes or I could bake brownies ”
Pascal nods his head and walk out of the building
Where the heck… Is Lydia?
This is way past her closing hour.
Lydia is always going to be his responsibility.
Whether they are together or not
She’s always going to be an important part of his life.
The last thing he wants to do is spend the rest of the rest of the night arguin.
So instead of heading home he went out.
