CHAPTER 21
Alex picked it and took a bite, she stretched it towards me and I almost ran away.
“Come on Andra, if you wanna go, you Have to eat this and fast too, so that we can go an return tonight” Nicky protested.
“Are we going today, why not tomorrow?” Alex asked.
“No, tomorrow is my aunt Merilia’s festival. No one goes in and out of her kingdom tomorrow. It’s her day. So we have to go today.” Nicky insisted.
Alex turned to me and said “it’s OK Andi, if you can’t eat it, then please stay back”
“No, I’m going” I argued.
I took the fruit from Nicky, I stared at it, what shape is this, it kinda looks like rough round orange but kind of rotten, but the texture is hard like peaches but a little soft like mangoes, it smells like soured grapes mixed with roasted pear. In fact, I have no exact explanation that could go with it.
Everyone was trying to force back in their laughter but I know they heard everything.
I closed my nose with my hand and put the fruit into my mouth and I squeezed my face as I chewed it,surprisingly it kinda taste nice.
They all laughed at my behavior.
“Good girl” Nicky patted my back, I glared at her and she chuckled. “Let’s go” she instructed.
“Wait, umh, Alex can you swim?…” I chuckled out nervously and added “cause umh, cause I can’t really swim.”
They laughed.
“I thought about that, which is why I got you a frogman suit” Penny, Alex’s mum stated, she signaled a servant, a blonde slim beautiful girl, she walked to us and handed her the frogman suit.
Penny asked me to sit down and I did. She slipped on the suit from my legs, she asked me to stand up, I stood up, she pulled the suit to my shoulder and I slipped my hands into it, she zipped it up.

Seriously, are all mothers in law this nice.
Everyone laughed, Alex chuckled and winked at me, I blushed.
I wonder how I accepted him so easily, he never really asked me out, what happened to me.
He stared at me for a while, I couldn’t read his facial expression, I know he heard what I said and so did all of them, but what I don’t know is why none of them replied or laughed as usual.
“She’s ready” Penny announced bringing me back to reality.
“Be careful” The Alpha instructed us, he hugged us and so did Penny.
“Let’s go” Nicky whistled.
She jumped into the water, Alex carried me, I closed my eyes as he jumped in as well.
When I opened my eyes inside the water, I felt like I was drowning cause we were going down deep into the ocean, even though I was in Alex’s arm but it kinda feel scary.

We went deeper and deeper and then we stopped about 20 minutes later.
“Are we there already” I asked, and then gasped. Jeez, I cant believe I can breath and talk in an ocean, this is something I can never imagine even in my wildest dreams.
“Nope, the journey is yet to begin” Nicky replied, she pointed to the west “look over there…” Alex and I looked, we saw some fishes of the same Specie swimming into a cave. “5 miles beyond that cave is oceana.” Nicky whined.
“Huh? But this is California, how did you get to Nigeria from here?” I asked her in surprise.
“No, we are already In Chicago, and as for how I got to Nigeria, well I just swam and swam and kept swimming in agony, trying to get away from home, away from anything that can remind me of my parents, an then when I felt like I’ve swam enough, I got out of the water and behold, I’m in your country” she explained.
“Wow” Alex and I whined.
“Well that’s by the way, we are in Chicago right now and we are heading to Miami” she informed us.
When did we even get to Chicago, I guess I was enjoying Alex’s arm that I didn’t know when we got here.
Nicky giggled.
“I’ll will drop you very soon” Alex stated but I held him tighter. They laughed.
We continued our journey.
“Alex give me your hand” Nicky asked.
He held her hand and she bolted off like lightening in a great storm, I became scared, I closed my eyes and tightened my grip on Alex as she swam like fish, well she is a fish but her speed was like that of a fish using an engine of a British horse power Ferrari.

After about 30 minutes of horrific swimming, she stopped, well we all stopped or perhaps they both stopped cause I wasn’t actually swimming per say.
“We are here” Nicky announced.
I opened my eyes, but only saw empty water void of mermaids and mermen, only normal fishes were swimming about. This is not what I was expecting.
“I’m not seeing any mermaid” Alex voiced out my mind.
“Thats because we are still outside” Nicky stated.
I stretched my hand to touch some fishes but when I saw a shark, no one need to tell me to withdraw my hand. I buried my face on Alex’s chest. I was really trying not to pee in my underwear.
Nicky made a weird sound which sounded more like a dolphin but with melody. Who is this Chick I called a friend.
“What are you doing?” Alex asked her. I also want to know.
I looked up and saw the shark swimming towards us.
I jumped out of Alex’s arm and swam behind him, he held me closer to his back.
“Nicky what the h*ll are you doing you?” I fired at her from Alex’s back.
She didn’t answer, instead she made the sound again and the shark swam faster. It was as if he was rushing to come and have his dinner.

When it finnaly stooped in front of us, it made it’s own sound, Nicky replied. The shark turned and faced the other side.
“Andi, get on it’s back” Nicky said.
“Girl if you’ve lost your mind, kindly tell me and stop talking gibberish” I fired at her, I mean is she insane, I should get on a shark’s back.
“It won’t hurt you” she urged me.
“Are you sure about this?” Alex asked her.
How can she be sure about getting on the back of a shark? This girl must be psycho, what am I even saying, she has always been psycho. I scoffed and she giggled at my thoughts.
“I’m sure, we need the shark to cross Andra through the wave aunt Merilia created to keep human hunters which are fisher men away from entering her kingdom.” She explained, well now she’s making sense. “Trust me Andra” she stated.
I sighed and nodded. Alex carried me and dropped me on the shark’s back.
But wait yo, what if this shark changes its mind and carry me to his family and they eat me for dinner.
What will I tell my God, that I fell in love with a wolf and sacrifice myself while we were looking for a freaking Mirror of Lafifa.
“Mirror Of Lafiti” Alex and Nicky corrected in unison.
“Whatever” I scoffed at them.
We laughed as we kept swimming, except me though.

When we got to the so called wave, I couldn’t hold my courage anymore, I lost it completely and began to scream as I stared at the strongest wave current ever, thunder and lightening striking all around it, I don’t think any ship made by human can cross it without crashing to bits.
I kept screaming and crying so loud that Alex had to jump on the shark to hold me.
He covered my eyes as the shark dashed into the wave, I could feel the current, I was tempted to remove Alex’s eyes and see the wave but the clap of the striking thunder scared me so much.

A few minutes later, Alex removed his hands from my eyes.
“We’ve passed the wave princess, you can look now” he said.

I opened my eyes and saw a different kind of dimension I’ve never seen before, a place so weird yet so beautiful. A beautiful city beneath the surface.
Sea current surrounded the city as light, sea plants and flowers are their gardens, uncivilized but organized, a wonderland.
Their houses a weird looking yet a little big and beautiful.
Mermaids were chatting and swimming by, some mermen were checking out their tails, probably looking for a way to impress their crush, lol.
I kept staring at the wonder of a different creation as we swim towards the castle.
Before us lay a very big castle with smaller houses surrounding it, I guess it’s the servants houses.
Some mermaids and mermen were swimming about in a hurry, some were carrying stuff while some were riding really fast on sharks and sea horses. It was amazing.
“Why are they in a hurry ?” Alex asked.
“They are preparing for Merilia festival” Nicky replied.
He nodded as he was carrying me down from the shark.
