Episode 4b
“Sorry, miss. Could you please, give it back?” He asked with a smirk. Nina felt embarrassed.
She looked back at Emily who had a despondent look on.
“Have this in mind Nina” she whispered to her.
“Don’t talk back at him; don’t get mad. Just take up the ball, go to him, give it back and walk out quietly.

Nina stared at her with a grimace and kept wandering whom he really was.
She took the ball from her legs and walked over to meet him and some of the students mumbled to each other as she did. She proffered the ball out to him, but he didn’t receive it immediately.
“It seems you’re new here. I don’t think I’ve seen you here before” he said, leering his eyes at her.
“Are you expected to know everyone here in school?” Nina asked.
The only thing restricting her from throwing the ball at him was Emily’s advice.
“Well, of course. Unless…that person is a ghost or feels to shy to show off her ugly face” he replied callously and few students giggled.
Nina was boiling as he finally collected the ball from her.
“El cretino ” she muttered angrily and turned around to leave.
“Did you say something?” He asked as he signalled on two boys who came out and stood in front of her, blocking her way.
She gawped at them and tried walking away, but they stopped her.
“What’s the meaning of this?” She turned back to the jerk and asked.
Immediately, Emily ran up to the scene and almost went on her knees in front of him .
“Please,” she placed her palms together. “She’s new her and doesn’t know you or anyone else. Please, pardon her” she pleaded and took Nina’s hand, running off with her.
“Let me go Emily. Who the he.ll was that?” Nina groused as Emily took her to the school balcony which was far from the cafeteria.

Immediately they got there Emily placed her hand on her chest and took in a deep breath.
“Oh God, Nina! That was a lucky escape. Its a good thing I was there to help you. Else…”
“Else what?” Nina interpolated as she grinned at the way Emily was panting. “Who’s he?”
“Trust me. he’s someone you’d want to avoid for as long as you’re here. He’s Theo Sidney”.
“Huh? That’s Theo?”
“Yes. The leader of MOLT which is Miles, Owen Lancelot and Theo – the four nuisance in Carnegie Vanguard High School.”
Nina couldn’t believe the so called Theo was that Frigid and arrogant.
“So…that’s Theo?” She asked, still feeling confounded. “But all members of the Sidney and Wesley family are supposed to be friendly and…”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. I’ve heard that stuff before. But, trust me Nina. I don’t think you’d want to practicalize that with someone like Theo. He just returned from France about a month ago and ever since he enrolled here with us, he became a nightmare.
“Originally, Miles, Owen and Lancelot were the three pests in school which was manageable. But when Theo showed up,he fueled them up and ended up being the leader of the gang. Now, you’re aware his uncle owns the school. so, he’s been very troublesome snd acts the way he likes and no one dares oppose him. The first and last time a lady had talked back at him, she was expelled.” Emily explained enthusiastically.
“What?” Nina shrieked. “Sha was expelled by his uncle?”
“Yes. Like I said, he’s a spoilt brat.”
“But, why will his uncle take such drastic decisions just to favor him?”
“Well…you know, he’s the only son of Mark Sidney and they tend to pamper him a lot”.
“Wow! That’s unbelievable. It’s a good thing we’re not friends”.
At that point, three dazzling ladies approached them.
“So ,mommy promised to take me to Paris this Xmas for shopping.” One said to the other as they walked by.

Nina noticed Emily was staring keenly at them and the one in the middle finally stopped and gawped at her.
“What’re you staring at?” She asked churlishly and walked a long with the others who also shot glances at both of them.
“And guess who’s that?” Emily said immediately they left.
Nina kept staring at her and couldn’t think of a good guess.
“Theo’s girlfriend” she helped her out and Nina gasped.
“Girlfriend?” She repeated, squeezing her face. “So he does have a girlfriend?
“Anyway, I don’t think I’m surprised. They’re a perfect match cause they both suck”.
“Funny you” Emily said and laughed. .
“Well, you also need to be careful around her cause she’s next to the devil. She’s also in our class and sits in the front row”.
“Seriously? Well, it’s a good thing I haven’t notice her cause I don’t think I’m ready to. Does she even have a name?”
“Crazy. Why wouldn’t she? Her name’s Maia”.
“Hm.Maia. now I know Maia and Theo are people I should avoid.”.
And Emily laughed again.
“Okay Nina. I’ll catch up with you later. I need to check up on something” Emily said and adjusted the books in her hands.
“Okay, sure . No problem” replied Nina.
“By the way, your necklace is pretty she added.
“Thanks. It’s krypton made” Nina replied and smiled at her as she left.
She stood still, starting at Emily as she left until she finally diverted into a corner.
“She’s really a nice lady” she thought.
She decided to head back to Class and await the rest of her classes.

She took the elevator, heading outside, hoping to meet her dad who promised to pick her up from school. She couldn’t wait to get home and free her head up from all the hoodlums there in school. It was a good thing that’d be her final year there in high school.
The elevator landed and just as she pressed open the door and walked out, she ran into someone she really didn’t wish to see.
It was the damnable Theo .
He stood in front of her and Nina figured he was there for trouble.
“What is it?” She asked with a loathing look.
It was a good thing they weren’t much students around.
“I’ve kind of…been looking for you” Theo replied and brushed his curly hair backwards.
“After we met at the cafeteria,” he continued. “My silver watch got missing and I was wandering if you could, perhaps, know where it is”.
Nina scoffed.
“Seriously?”she asked sounding surprised. “And why would I know anything about it? I’m not a watch thief, okay? And I have no plans of becoming one”.
She tried walking away , but he held her back by the wrist, squeezing it a little.
“We’re not done talking” he blurted.
“Will you let me go? You’re hurting me!” Nina groused, disgruntled.
“Do you have any idea that’s Nina Wesley?”
It was a familiar voice.
Nina quickly turned around and saw her long awaited friend – Alvin – standing in front of her. Her heart blossomed.
