Theo came into the house, whistling and gyrating and sat next to Harmony who was watching a movie in the sitting room.
“Hello, baby sis. Wats up?” He asked playfully and threw his hand around her shoulders.
Harmony looked at him and brought her nose close to his mouth.
“Are you drunk?” She asked, surprised at his awkward behavior.
She couldn’t recall when last her brother required after her welfare.
“Yes, Harmony. Yes! I’m drunk in love!”
“In love?”
“Yes, darling. Let me tell you a secret.”
He paused and whispered into her ears: “Nina kissed me”.
Harmony gasped and giggled.
“She did? Like seriously?” She asked.
“Of course harmony. Nina’s finally mine. Where’s mom? I need to see her.”
“She’s upstairs. Congrats bro”
“Oh thank you darling.” He replied and stood up to head for his mom’s room.
“Uhm…Theo,” harmony called him back. “Could I use your laptop?”
“Hold on; what’s this?” He asked and looked under the pillow on the chair. He saw his laptop.
“Isn’t this my laptop?”
“Uhm. .yes. Actually, I was already making use of it.” Harmony replied, itching her head.
“Anyway, you can make a pillow out of it, pretty. With all pleasure.” He replied genially and walked away, humming a song.

Nina sat in her room with her teddy as they talked over the day’s incidence.
“Does that mean Theo and I are meant to be?” She asked with a dull expression.
“Of course Nina. He passed the test and that only means he’s your Mr Right. You need to love him.” The teddy replied exurbantly.
Nina sighed and cuddled it’s hair.
“Alvin would he leaving tomorrow.” She said dollfully. “I didn’t hear from him today”.
“You’re going to miss him when he’s gone, right?”.
“Yes. I wish he would change his mind and stay back.”
She kept mute for a while.
“Maybe I’d see him off tomorrow”
“You will? Is that necessary?”
“Yes. That might be the last time I might get to see him in a very long time. I just need to bid him bye.”
“Why don’t you go with Theo?”
“Theo? That isn’t necessary.. I’m very exhausted. Goodnight”.
“Goodnight, princess”. The teddy replied and she switched it off.

Close to noon, Nina decided to go to Alvin.
She had been expecting him to call her since the previous day but surprisingly, he didn’t and she couldn’t reach him as well.
She knew going to his house might be problematic because of his mom, but she had to do it anyway.
She dropped off a distance from his house and decided to walk there just in case she had to hide.
But on getting to his house, she saw him standing next to a car, looking pale.
He didn’t notice her immediately until she had gotten close to him.
“Alvin?” She called and got his attention. He was uncannily dull.
she peeped into the car and saw some bags in it. “Was he about leaving?”
“What’re you doing here?” He asked in a gruffy voice and Nina flinched.
He sounded different.
“Nothing. I…I just dropped by to see you off” she replied nervously.
“There’s no need for that. Besides, shouldn’t you be with your fiance?”
She paused and stared at him
“Alvin, I…”
“I’m leaving Nina. And it’s a good thing I am so I don’t have to be a nuisance to anyone else. It’s just too bad I’m leaving in a bad state and maybe that’s because I got to know you. If wishes were horses, I’d ride and withdraw the memories we wasted together.”
Nina was surprised at Alvin’s sudden flagrant attitude.
“Alvin what’s wrong?” She asked and he scoffed.
“What’s wrong? Everything. It was a blunder to ever think I could compete with your betrothed. It was a blunder to ever think I could make a decision on my own and be happy. But all the same, Nina, I wish you a happy married life.”
Just then Mrs Lana came out of the house and fumed on seeing Nina.
“What’re you doing here?” She asked and tried hitting her but was held back by Alvin .
“That’s enough mom. Let’s go” Alvin said to her, holding her hands.
She gave one more hard look at Nina and walked into the car with Alvin.

Theo was at home, playing a casual handball with his friends just to while away time.
“So Nina really kissed you?” Miles asked as lancelot passed the ball to him and he in return, passed the ball to Theo.
“You know, when Harmony told me about it, I couldn’t believe it. But how did it happen?” Lancelot asked.
“There’s no need to natter anymore about it. She kissed me and that’s it. Didn’t I mention I was a loverboy?” Theo replied with a smirk, passing the ball to Owen who laughed.
Still playing, the gate opened and a car drove in. They kept staring at the car to see whom it was and unexpectedly, it was Nina.
She came out of the car looking blanched and approached them.
“Nina, I…I wasn’t expecting you. Wats up?” Theo asked as he threw the ball on the floor to take a proper look at her.
She really looked bleary.
“Hi Theo. I had no idea you’d be busy. I…I was thinking we could spend some time…alone.” she spoke in sepulchral tones, staring at the floor.
Theo looked at his friends who gave him the go signal and turned back to Nina.
“Sure thing. We could stay by the pool” he replied and left with her to the pool.
“Is there something you want to talk about?”he asked and noticed she sniffled.
“Nina, what’s wrong?” He asked again and she looked at him and that was when he noticed the tears streaming down her cheeks.
He was bewildered and drew her closer.
She couldn’t say a word as she kept whimpering and crying.
She just needed some comfort and she couldn’t believe she had seen that comfort in Theo.
“But are you sure you didn’t do anything wrong to him?” Theo asked as he sat with Nina by the pool.
“No. We were doing okay. I…I don’t know what came over him.” Nina replied.
Theo had been able to stop her from crying.
“So, he’s gone and not coming back?” He asked and Nina shook her head.
“Not anytime soon” she added.
“Anyway, sorry about that. Too bad your last moments had to turn out sour.”
“But I really feel bad for him. I know he’s going through agony and I really wish he could stand up for himself. He doesn’t deserve to punish himself to please others.”.
“Well, everyone has a fate That cannot be changed no matter what. Maybe that was his fate.”
“Anyway, sorry for bothering you. I just needed someone to talk to”.
Theo smiled and held her hands.
“Don’t be silly, Nina. You should know I’m always here for you”.
She sighed and placed her head on his shoulder.
Miles, Owen and Lancelot stood behind, watching quietly, walked away and laughed.
“I think he did it, guys”. Owen whispered to them.
“So, you mean you went to Theo for comfort?” Her teddy asked as she sat at the balcony of the house, taking some fresh air.
“Yes. I needed someone to talk to” replied Nina.
“But why didn’t you go to someone else? Like. ..a relative or even your dad? Why Theo?”
Nina was speechless.
“Don’t you think you’re falling for him?” The teddy asked and Nina laughed
“You’re so funny. Theo’s my fiance and I’m bound to like him sooner or later . You don’t expect me to hate him.
“But Theo’s a nice guy, right?”
“Of course he is. At least, he’s changed a bit.”
Just then, Declan arrived home and Nina turned off the teddy.
“Hi dad” she greeted excitedly and embraced him.
“Welcome” she added as they sat together.
“How’re you doing angel?” He asked.
“I’m fine. How was work today? You really stayed out late.”
“Yeah, I had to go elsewhere”.
He stared at her hands and noticed the teddy she Ws holding.
“You got a new teddy?” He asked, surprised.
“Yes, its a gift from Theo. And it isn’t just a mere teddy. It’s a talking teddy” she replied.
” A talking teddy?”
“Yes, dad. Hold on”
She paused and turned it on.
“Hey, Theodora. Say hi to my dad” she said to it and it replied hi.
Declan scoffed and collected it from her, turning it off, on and off again.
“Have you been communicating with this?” He asked.
“Yes ,dad. It’s my friend.”
“Your friend? And you said Theo gave it you?”
“Yes. Is something wrong?”
“This isn’t a talking teddy, Nina. Someone has been communicating with you through it . It’s technology”
Nina flinched and collected it from him.
“What do you mean, dad? Who has been communicating with me through it?”
“I don’t know. Maybe it’s Theo. It’s more like a walkie talkie. So, you need to be careful of the secrets you tell it”
“So, you mean Theo’s been tricking me all these while? It’s been him all along?”
“Perhaps. It’s a good thing I found out about it in time.” Declan replied and stood up, laughing.
“I need to take a shower ,Nina” he told her and walked in, still laughing.
Immediately he left, Nina turned on the teddy.
“Theo?” She said immediately.
“I thought my name was Theodora?” The teddy replied in its usual tiny voice.
Nina couldn’t believe Theo had programme all these just to trick her.
“Why don’t I just call you a jerk instead?” She snarled.
“Did you really think you could fool me for long?”
“Fool you? Princess, what’re you…”
“Just shut up” she cut him off and pause.
“You know what? I don’t really have much to say. Just wait till I get to see you tomorrow” she continued and switched it off, hissing loudly at it.

Theo laid on the bed, laughing uncontrollably and harmony who just came in wondered what was going on.
