CHAPTER 47
It’s barely been 24 hours since she turned Jimi down and the whole world is literally attacking her everywhere.
She can’t even scroll through social media the humiliating video is everywhere and to top it all everyone was badmouthing her
Throwing shady comments at her, cussing her and even going as far as bombarding her DM with lots of ho.rrible bu..llying words and articles. She doesn’t even know how they manage to find her social media handle
Is like everyone is on her case she had to turn off her notifications, they were mentioning everyone, dragging her
Even her cousin has called, stuffs on the internet spread like wildfire and it has been exhausting dealing with this nonsense all day
She tried to take her mind off it but nothing was working at a point she just had to start cleaning every corner of the house,she dust and clean until it was spotless yet she was still restless
After a good house scrub she was applying nail polish when the door bell rings
She sighed frustratedly.
It’s definitely Marty coming to drain her again
She wanted to just ignore the doorbell but then Marty would ki ll her if she doesn’t answer
She opened the door and it was Jimi Benson.
What was he doing here
Didn’t she make herself clear last night
What more could he possibly want now?
“Hello Diana ”
“What are you doing here Jimi” she tried to sound as calm as possible
“I just uhm ” he cleared his throat
“I just want to see how you’re doing”
“As you can see. Am better than ever.
I thought I told you I don’t want to see you anymore. Why have you come here”
“I was hoping we could talk about last night”
“There’s nothing to talk about Jimi Benson I already made myself clear”
Abby ran out of the house to jump on Jimi
“Daddy!!!” She screamed giving him a big hug
“, Hey baby…… Did you grow bigger from the last time I saw you”
“Nope” she giggles
And Diana just want to tear them apart
“Abby baby pls just come down already”
“No mommy I want to stay here. Ohh that’s right daddy I finally finished my school project can I show it to you”
“Of course princess I’d love to see it”
“You’re not going inside my house Jimi”
“Fine! I guess I will just wait here while you go in and bring it for me to see princess”
“Okay ” she shrugs as she rushed inside to bring her school project of an handmade dough garden
“You have to go Jimi. You can’t be here”
Diana stirs up
“Why not, is it prohibited for me to come see Abby”
“Exactly that’s the whole point. We’re not together anymore so you have no right to be around my daughter”
“Is that right, so you want me to cut off all ties with Abby because you broke up with me. Don’t be ridiculous what has that got to do with anything”
“Abby is my daughter Jimi. Whatever I say stands”
“Why are you being so excessive. I don’t see why I can’t be with Abby, you know how much she means to me”
Abby rushed out with her project
“Would you look at that, this is so beautiful. Weldone princess. You have done so well”
Diana was fuming with anger
“Thank you daddy”
“He is not your daddy” Diana blurted out
“Stop calling him daddy because he is not your father Abby”
“I know Mommy. I just want him to be my daddy ” Abby answers softly
“No Abby you can’t just go about calling anyone your daddy.”
“But i only called him daddy . I have not called anyone else besides everyone has a daddy”
“Not you sweetie. You are better off without anyway and now you will do as I say and stop being a smart a$s”
“He is my daddy” she mumbles
“Are you not hearing me I said he is not your daddy. Enough of this nonsense now go inside”
“But mommy I don’t want to”
“Don’t you dare argue with me Abby. Will you go in right now”
Abby looked at Jimi for help but his hands were tied too
She turned back inside the apartment sad
“She is just a child…. You don’t have to venge your anger on her, if you are mad at me, stay mad at me and just me”
“Frankly I don’t have time to be mad at you, I just want to you out of my life and my daughter’s and stay Gone.”
Jimi chuckles
“This is crazy, you haven’t even told me why you broke up with me”
“I gave you my reasons last night Jimi”
“Are you sure that’s all there is”
“What else could it be”
“I don’t know….. because if that’s all it is you’re exaggerating alot Diana”
“That’s your problem and I don’t care what you think”
“Even if you don’t want to be married just yet can’t we just talk about it instead of cutting it off completely”
“I don’t want to have anything to do with you Jimi”
“Why. I think I deserve an explanation”
“And I don’t owe you anything. And if it’s about Abby’s school fees that you lend me I’ll pay you back as soon as I can”
“Oh just stop don’t insult me. Why would I ever ask you to pay back Abby’s school fees. What has that got to do with anything”
“Oh am going to pay back am not going to give you the right to stand walking in and out of my life like you owe it”
“If you need space Diana I’ll give you space. Whatever you want just don’t do this to us. Pls am begging you”
“Have a nice life Jimi.” She slammed the door in his face and crashed behind the door letting out a wave of breath she has been holding back for too long
Oh Gosh this is even harder than she can imagine.
He is pushing too hard, she honestly did not see this coming
And then there’s Abby staring daggers at her for kicking Jimi out and driving a wedge between her and her newly profound father figure or should she say actual father
“Baby……” Diana tries to cajole her but she walked away and Diana couldn’t believe how this is turning out
She tried to convince herself that this is only temporary
Soon everyone will forget all about it, in a few days no one would remember the whole incident and it would be old news to blog
No one will be so bothered about
As soon as Abby’s school vacate they’re going to Benin to spend the holidays, this is a perfect opportunity to escape from all this
She went to her fridge and down an entire bottle of cold water to help stop her itchy throat and hurdled breathing.
Jimi wasn’t sure what next.
Diana is being so difficult and unyielding, fine he has always known her to be very stubborn and defensive but this is so different.
She’s obviously attacking him for a reason but she won’t tell and the more she dabbles around it, Jimi realized it might even be deeper than he can imagine
So he started doing some diggings on his own.
