THE NEXT DAY
Fully dressed as Ara. Arabella walked into her recording company. Heading to John office.
She didn’t even bother to knock and just walked into the room. Interrupting him on the phone.
He spoke swiftly and ended the call before giving his attention to her.
“What a lovely surprise to see you here. I thought you did the Ara part during the afternoon and the nanny part during the morning and evening.
How come you have the time to come see me?” John asked.
“You know why I came here?”She said looking very angry.
“I have no idea. Enlighten me”John replied.
“I heard from the advertising team of Gerald company that there will come a time that we will travel outdoor for the shoot and that time has come, but am having a problem with two things”She said.
“Which are ? “John asked.
“The venue. That place turns out to be where I grew up and my mother and father still lives there”She said.
“Are you still on bad terms with them? I already told you to make it up with them but you keep on refusing ”
“Am not worried about my parents at all. What am worried about now is what excuse to give to Fiona and Gerald.
Like you’ve said you know am a nanny”She said to him.
“Have always known that someday you will have to stop with the nanny job and that time is…..”
“It isn’t! Am not going to give up my nanny work just to go on trips.
You forced me into working with Gerald while having my vacation.
You figure out what to do cause i just can’t think of more lies to make”She said Interrupting him.
“Why don’t we do this. You make up an excuse that your mom is ill and that you have to go to her.
Gerald wouldn’t stop you. He isn’t that heartless. Would that suffice?”John asked.
“It will”Arabella said.
“I can’t believe that am making up lies for you”John said laughing out loud.
“Part of it is your fault. You have no idea how much this is choking me but I can’t say the truth and it’s all for my daughter “And for Gerald she thought within.
“Fine then. Am to be blamed for calling you back when your having your vacation and so if your secret is exposed someday. I will be responsible for it”John said.
“And why would you take the responsibility?” She asked.
“Am to be blamed. Its a good thing Gerald isn’t going. I heard the male model will be the one accompanying you on the trip”John said.
“Luckily he has some work pending. That’s a relief for me”She said softly.
“But I think you should stop hiding and come clean. Who knows Gerald might forgive you and your daughter might accept you” John said.
“I would really like to come clean myself but I can’t “She said remembering Gerald words about hating a liar.
She got back home feeling down and because Fiona was busy with her work and knowing that no one would disturb her.
She took out her guitar and began to play it.
Whenever she is down. This is the only way she tends to soothe herself.
Singing is a joy to her. She thought as she kept on singing one of her songs while she played the guitar.
Just then the door opened and Fiona walked into the room starring at her.
“What’s wrong?”Arabella asked as she put the guitar down to hold the child hand.
“I know now”Fiona muttered softly.
“Know what? “Arabella asked with concern.
