GERALD COMPANY
“Isn’t she taking long” Matthew Sanders. A close friend and also the head of the advertising team said as he stood beside Gerald waiting for Ara Arrival.
“She is”Gerald replied as he stared at his watch again.
“I like the fact that we will be working with Ara. Am her number one fan”Matthew said softly.
“My niece go gaga over her. I wonder what you all see in her”Gerald muttered.
“She’s beautiful and gorgeous and to top it all. She has a great voice and her song have touched a lot of people heart. Don’t tell me it hasn’t done with yours?”Matthew asked .
“It hasn’t and from my meeting with her. I can tell that she is a weird lady.”
“Weird?”Mathew asked
“She had her hair covering her face and she kept on avoiding me like I was some plague”Gerald said remembering his visit to her company.
“And is that why you think of her as weird?”Matthew asked.
“Isn’t that being weird to you?”Gerald asked in return.
“Of course not. The poor thing must have been scared because of your face”
“What’s wrong with my face?”Gerald asked.
“Your always carrying this cold look around. Even the staff knows and tends to avoid you when they see that look on your face.
You must have scared the poor thing and I heard that Ara is a delicate person. Your scary face must have got her running. Your carrying that look right now” Matthew said.
“I doubt that and besides my face have always been like this. If people don’t like it. It’s their problem”Gerald replied feeling angry.
“Then I think it’s best that you leave the meeting. Your face might just scare her off again” Matthew suggested.
“I will leave but am not leaving because you say so but because I have other things to attend to.
Make sure you fill her in on the schedule and every other thing”Gerald said as he left the room.
Should he always put a smile on his face. People will think of him as a fool. The expression on his face suits him better. He thought as he stood in front of the elevator while waiting for the door to open.
The doors did open and instead of getting in. Someone rushed out of it. Colliding into him and also hitting him hard on the nose.
“Oh my God! Am sorry”Arabella said as she stared at the man she had ran into only to see that it was Gerald.
Seeing that it was him. She turned to leave only to be pulled back.
“Are you going to leave without taking responsibility?”He asked as he held onto his nose which was dripping bI.ood.
“Am really sorry but am late for an appointment and…..Ouch!!!”She yelped when he took hold of her other arm which was hurting a lot.
Not noticing her pain. Gerald pulled her close to him while he stared down at her.
“Aren’t you Ara?”He asked and she nodded while trying to pull her injured hand out of his.
“Yes I am and am running late for the meeting with your company” she replied as she silently hoped that he wouldn’t recognise her.
Just to look different. She had asked Nina to add more to her make up and Nina had certainly did as she said adding more of her own touch to it.
“Your right in saying that your late. We have been waiting for a while now”He said still holding onto her.
“Then I better run along then”She said as she tried to move away from him but he pulled her back again.
“This is the first time am seeing your face clearly”
“What do you mean? You saw me at our company a few days ago and ….”
“And you did well in hiding your face but now that am seeing it clearly. You look a lot like someone I know”He said making Arabella heart skip in fear.
“I don’t think so. I can’t possibly be the girl you…..”She stopped when he touched her cheek while starring at her face.
“I can’t be mistaken. Your a replica of her”He stated firmly while Arabella stood still starring back at him too.
