HIDDEN WIFE : CHAPTER 31 – 40

THIRD PERSON’S pov.

Huntington Memorial Hospital, LA

Mr Baldwin leaped out of the car even before Lucas could drive into a space, at the parking lot of Huntington Memorial Hospital and park the car properly, he dashed towards the building and Fatima rushed after him without wasting time -she’s worried about her friend.

He bumped into few people as he was in a hurry to get to the emergency room, but he didn’t stop to say sorry because he knew Fatima will do that on his behalf.

“Mr Baldwin” Jeff and the others greeted him with a bow, the moment they saw him approaching them.

He narrowed his eyes and his brows furrowed as his eyes settled on the bIoodstains on Jeff’s clothes, he closed his eyes and balled his fist as different scenarios of how fatal his wife’s condition would be right now, played in his mind.

He inhaled deeply, before opening his eyes again.

“Don’t tell me that’s my wife’s blood all over you” he said through gritted teeth.

Jeff and the other bodyguards nodded silently as they quickly looked down at their feet, trying by all means to avoid soul sucking gaze.

None of them could utter any words, or was ready to speak because they knew Mr Baldwin is livid at the moment and wouldn’t mind sending anyone to his grave right here.

“Are y’all lizards?!” his voice was calm, but anger laced each word. “Fking answer me with words!” he thundered which made them flinched back slightly.

Jeff coughed quietly to clear his throat, before speaking.

“Y-yes, sir” Jeff answered in a short stutter.

Mr Baldwin growled lowly, he turned around and pvnched the wall behind him, creating a big crack on it which resulted to him bruising his knuckles.

“Where the h’ll were you all when the f!ght was going on?! Why didn’t none of you stop ’em?!” he roared in Jeff’s face.

“S-sir, you, you said…”

“Shut up!” he cut Jeff off. “I said what? Huh?!”

He grabbed Jeff’s collar, and pulled him close bring Jeff’s left ear closer to his mouth.

“Now listen and listen good” he said and Jeff nodded.

He stayed silent for a moment, then let go of Jeff’s collar and pushed him back to his previous position. His brows knitted together in a deep frown, his eyes narrowed as he glared at them emotionlessly, which made them shiver and bowed their heads even more.

“If my wife doesn’t wake up in five minutes, I swear, I won’t spare any of you!”

They secretly exchange glances, then stepped back.

“I’ll skin you alive and have everyone in each of your families klled in cold bIood!” he promised in a dangerously low and calm voice.

“Yes, sir” they replied simultaneously.

Mr Baldwin took a few steps towards the door, he stopped in front of it and stared at it with his hands tucked in his pockets.

“Where’s the bçh now?!” he asked, referring to Tasha.

The body guards looked at each other, quietly suggesting who’d make the report this time.
Jeff cleared his throat again and spoke.

“Uh….”

He cleared his throat again as if there’s a lump hanging there.

“Mrs Baldwin did a number on miss Tasha before she fell and passed out”

He paused and cleared his throat, which earned him a glare from Mr Baldwin.

“Miss Tasha is receiving treatment too as we speak”

“In this same hospital?”

“Yes, sir”

Mr Baldwin balled his fist, he turned around and was ready to go search every ward until he finds Tasha, but the doors open and a man in white coat (a doctor) came out of the emergency room.

“Family of Mrs Baldwin?” he asked no one in particular, as his eyes flicked between Mr Baldwin, Jeff and the bodyguards who were all dressed in black suits.

“I’m her husband” Mr Baldwin answered.

The doctor nodded, but suddenly paused as he narrowed his eyes in confusion when he took a closer look at Mr Baldwin, then recognition dawned on him.

“Aren’t you Duncan Baldwin?” he asked with a smile, as if seeing Mr Baldwin is a great honor to him.

“Yes. How is my wife doing?” Mr Baldwin answered curtly, and quickly asked about his wife’s condition, to change the topic and prevent the doctor from asking further questions.

He (Mr Baldwin) tilted his head and peeked inside the emergency room to catch a glimpse of his wife, but she wasn’t in his line of sight.

The doctor cleared his throat.

“I’m Anderson Clarkson, and I’m gonna be your wife’s attending doctor” he introduced himself. “Please come with me to my office let’s talk more” the doctor said and led the way.

But he stopped walking when he realized Mr Baldwin wasn’t following him, he turned back to Mr Baldwin only to find him about entering the emergency room.

“Mr Baldwin” he called, and Mr Baldwin stopped immediately. “We can talk better in my office”

“Then what about my wife? Isn’t she supposed to come out with you? Or is her condition that serious?”

“Don’t worry, Mr Baldwin, the nurses will take her to a ward” doctor Anderson assured him.

“But I want to see my wife first, I want to know what’s going on with her”

“I assure you she’s fine and you’ll see her very soon, just come with me first”

Mr Baldwin wanted to argue, but he closed his eyes and decided against it.

“Let’s go” he told doctor Anderson.

Doctor Anderson nodded and led the way, with Mr Baldwin following behind, but Jeff’s rushed to catch up with him.

“What about miss Tasha? Should we deal with her?” he asked.

“Not yet, I will check out my wife’s condition first and decided wether to punish her or not” he turned to face Fatima. “Stay with my wife until I get back” the he rushed after doctor Anderson.
