HIDDEN WIFE : CHAPTER 41 – 50

Chapter 42

An old, abandoned factory

The door burst open and two men entered, carrying a sack. They stopped in front of seven (Mr anonymous’s left handed man), he signaled them to drop the sack, and they roughly threw it on the ground.

A female’s muffled voice was heard as she yelped quietly and groaned in pain.

“Eleven, open it” seven ordered one of them.

Eleven crouched down, he reached for a da..gger in his pocket and tore the sack open, revealing a tied up Tasha.

Her eyes were blindfolded, her hands and legs were tied tightly behind her, even her mouth was g.agged with a big piece of cloth.

“What should we do with her?” Eleven asked seven.

“Take her to the dark room and starve her today, we’ll take care of her tomorrow”

Eleven and the other man stared at Tasha, their lu$tfvl eyes trailed her body for a moment.

“How about we have some fvn with her today?” the other man suggested.

“Yeah, that’s a very great idea” Eleven chipped in, his eyes filled with naughty excitement.

Seven laughed at their words.

“It’s not a bad idea, but rapping her isn’t part of the plan, boss will have our heads if we try it”

Eleven and the other man sighed in disappointment.

“Take her to the dark room”

“Fine” they grumbled, and grumpily dragged her away, not even listening to her cries.

RACHEL’S pov.

“… that’s why I decided to take her to California” he concluded.

I listened carefully as Duncan told me everything, and from what he’s said I don’t think Mr Ferrari is his enemy here.

I used to think he was Duncan’s enemy after he sent his men after us two months ago, but I realized he just did that because he’s scared of losing an important g.ang member.

“You’re right” I agreed with his explanation. “I also believe nanny Pamela knows something about your mom, the murderer doesn’t want anyone else to find out about what nanny Pamela knows, that’s why they k!dnapped her and demolished the orphanage under the guise of an earthquake” I said.

He nodded. It’s all making sense now, it’s confirm that the earthquake was man-made.

“But the question is, who is this enemy? And why can’t I seem to find him?” he asked.

“Hmm” I hummed thoughtfully. “We can get the answer to all this questions if nanny Pamela is well again, have you arrange for a doctor’s appointment for her?”

He shook his head which earned him a glare from me, I leaned forward and pushed his head back.

“Why are you thinking with your bvm?”

“I’ll arrange for a doctor’s appointment, I’m just hiding her for now because it’s not the right time… ”

“Right time?” I scoffed. “There’s no right time, every time is right and the earlier you sought your enemy out the better it’d be for everyone”

He was about saying something, but I didn’t let him since I wasn’t finish.

“And have you heard of this popular saying…the most dangerous place, is the safest place”

“What do you mean?” he asked with a small frown.

“I mean hiding nanny Pamela in California isn’t a good idea, because your enemy can easily get to her, and they would have carried out their plans even before you find out what’s going on”

He nodded thoughtfully at my words.

“She’s safer staying by our side, we can keep an eye on her if she’s here with us, and she can easily regain her mental stability if we’re always by her side, and interacting with her, or what do you think?” I asked for his opinion.

He thought about it briefly, then nodded in agreement.

“You’re right, I shouldn’t keep her faraway”

“Exactly, besides, I’ve missed her greatly and I want her to witness the process of our baby’s growth in my womb” I giggled.

He also laughed shortly.

“I’ll listen to you and bring her back, then I’ll have my gang’s doctor check on her, is that alright by you?”

I nodded. Duncan stared at my face admiringly which made me scorned at him playfully, but he simply laughed in return.

“I never knew my wife’s such an intelligent woman” he said.

I flipped my hair back, but blushed and chuckled shyly when I remembered I’ve packed up my hair in a bun.

“Of course, having a dumb husband is not easy at all, because the responsibility of our home has fallen on me” I sighed dramatically. “I think I’ll start growing gray hair soon” I touched my hair pitifully.

He rolled his eyeballs.

“Well, Mrs intelligent, how about I teach you some basic self-defense skills, and how to use a gvn?”

“Huh?!” I gasped loudly.

“Yeah, I’ll take you to my gang’s base tomorrow and… ”

“Wait, wait, wait”

I interrupted him, he paused and I laughed.

“I don’t think it’s the appropriate time for that”

It’s not the appropriate time? Didn’t I just said there every time is appropriate?

“Why?” he asked.

Why? Why? Why? Why can’t I think of a perfect lie right now?!
Then a bulb light up in my hand. I quickly took his hand and placed it on my flat stomach.

He gave me a questioning look.

“I’m just a month and two weeks pregnant, I don’t think activities like this is advisable for first five months of pregnancy” I lied smoothly.

I’m just being lazy and I’m looking for an excuse not to train, this seemed like a perfect lie.

“Really?” his brows furrowed slightly. “But I’ve seen pregnant women doing all kinds of exercise and… ”

I cut him off with a laugh and pinched his nose gently.

“S!lly you, those women aren’t five months pregnant, baby, what if I have a miscarriage during the training?”

“Uh… ”

“Besides, doctor Anderson already shouldn’t do any hard labor or I’ll lose the baby”

He nodded slowly. “He did said that, but… ”

“Let’s follow the doctor’s instructions or there might be implications”

He sighed deeply and thought about it for a while, then nodded in agreement.

“But you must pay for being stubborn and not listening to my orders”

I frowned.

“What orders?”

He didn’t reply, he got up, walked towards the door and locked it from inside, then turned back to me with a wicked smirk, even his eyes glinted ev’lly.

“I told you to stay here with Fatima but you disobeyed me and tailed me!” he growled lowly.

I chuckled nervously as he approached me, he climbed onto the be d and started crawling towards me, while I crawl back in return.

“Can we negotiate about my pvnishment? Can it be a little lighter?”

He scoffed unreasonably.

“There’s no room for negotiation, my heartbeat, you must be pvnished for being disobedient!” then he povnced at me, making me $cream out my lungs.
