MAX POV
I got to class and while I was putting my stuff at my desk, Geoffrey came to me
“So Mr lover boy, did you tell her yesterday?” He asked
“Am not in the mood to tell you that now” I said giving him an angry glare before walking off to Jack who sat on his desk staring at Andrea empty seat beside him
“We have to talk” I said and he looked up at me
“About what?” he asked
“This has to be done privately, come with me, Now!” I said and left the class.
A while later Jack came out to meet me, giving me a? angry glare just as I was giving him t??,
“What do you have to say ?”he asked
“Did you offer to pay for Andrea trip?”I as???.
“Why ask me that?” he replied with a ???st???.
“You are the only one here with enough reason to do so” I sa??, and when he didn’t answer I decided to ask the question that has been bothering me ever since I learnt of this student who offered to pay for Andrea.
“You know the truth about Andrea right?” I asked and he stared at me in surprise giving me the answer i needed
“You know her secret?” I asked again
“Yes I know what she has been hiding ,Have known this for a long time now” He replied
“And you never told anyone, were you planning to use this on Andrea?”I asked
“If I were planning to use it on her, she would always be loitering around me instead of with you”he said
“She thinks you are the only one who knows her secret, If she finds out that I know it, maybe she might give me some of her attention”He said
“Don’t you dare use her secret to blackmail her?”i ?a????.
“I wouldn’t stoop that low, have known her secret for a while now and have kept shut about it, do not worry, I won’t be a threat to Andrea peace of mind” he said as he began to walk off
“Why? Why do you choose to keep quiet ?” I asked again wanting to know more, he was hesitant to reply but then he tightened his fist and gave me a hard look
“Because I love her, I love Andrea and I would never try to hurt her by making her secret known” He replied confirming my worst ??a?s.
Getting angry I walked back to him and pull him by his shirt
“What did you just say?”I asked
“That ? am in love with Andrea, that am crazy about her and now that you know, I won’t be backing off”he said
“You won’t be backing off?”I asked and he pushed me away before giving me a reply
“I won’t be and so get ready, I plan on having Andrea for myself ” He said as he walked off
I felt so angry, Jack knew yet he kept shut and am sure that when the time comes, he will want to use it against Andrea and force her to do something she ???s?’t want to do
I left the school in anger and went back home, I still had to know why mom had paid.
My Mother had been the anonymous person who payed
She has never given out something without expecting something. In return, she would surely want to get something back from Andrea or would she have gotten it from Andrea? I thought as I went in search of Andrea first but it seemed Like she had gone to the hospital
Quickly I went to meet my mom who was still in her room, getting ready for the day
“Something great must have happened for you to have come into my room”She said
“Why did you pay for Andrea trip?”I asked
“I knew you were going to ask me that and that is why I waited for you to come back before leaving for work “she said as she turned to look at me
“Tell me why you decided to help Andrea ?”I asked again
“It’s simple,she is the daughter of an employee and I just didn’t want her to miss out on the trip “She answered as she put on her earring
“Mom stop it and cut to the chase, you must have asked some thing in return from Andrea, you don’t do anything for free mom”I said again
“Fine you caught me, I thought you were going to buy my lies for a while but you are not smart for nothing” She said
“Well I did help Andrea but I didn’t ask for any thing from her instead you will be the one doing it “She said
“What do you mean?”I asked
“I saw the way you were looking at her, that is not the look of a friend Max, I don’t like it”
“After what you did with Nick, do you think you have a right to tell me how to live my life?”
“As long as I am your mother, I do have that right Max and am telling you now that I don’t want you to have any thing going with that girl”She said
“Or else what?”
“You will force me to do things, things that will hurt her” She sa??.
“What do you want me to do?”
“Get back with Rose” She sa??.
“Rose is someone I detest, she cheated on me with my own brother, do you think that she won’t do it with someone else?”I asked
“She won’t, she assured me of that and what happened with Nick, it’s now in the past, move on my son”
“Pay Rose more attention, speak to her, get close to her during this trip, that’s all I ask for, at least get to know her again, she has change”She said
“Is that all I have to do to protect Andrea and her mom?” I asked
“If you want it to be that way,then yes,that’s all you have to do”She replied
“So be it, I will be civil towards Rose,that’s all I can assure you of for now”
“For your own good and for Andrea, you should stay away from her, you know what your father is like, he won’t ever let you be with someone who is not in our class” she added
“I already agree to be civil towards Rose, what I do with Andrea is now my business”I said and left the room in anger.

ANDREA POV
“What?” I asked as I left what I was doing to put the phone in my ear
“When the teacher had called out the names of the students that will be going for the trip, your name was among it”Beatrice replied
“But I didn’t pay and I don’t want to go”I said
“Well someone did pay for you and remember there is no refund all you have to do is to attend,it’s just a four-day trip and it will be fun, so come”Beatrice begged
“I will talk to you later Beatrice”I said as I caught the call.
Did Max pay for the trip, I had asked him not to do it.
Now more than ever I have to distance myself from him and if I were to go on a school trip with him then we will be close and I don’t want that,I have to do all I can to avoid him
“Andrea?”I turned when I heard Max call, he had a smile on his face but I knew that something was wrong.
I wanted to ask but I remembered what his mother said to me last night and I stopped
“Did you pay for my trip “I asked as soon as he got to me
“I……….”
“I had asked you not to! I said I don’t want to owe anyone much less you”I said
“You won’t be owing me because I didn’t pay for the trip”
“Then who could have paid?”I asked
“My mom, she paid for it”He said
“But why would she?”I asked and just then the nurse came to me
“Your mom is awake Andrea and she wishes to see you”The nurse said
Quickly I went to my mom ward and saw her sitting up already
“Mom!” I called as I went to hug her t???t,
“I thought I was never going to see you again” I said as I wipe the tears off my face
“How can I die when I haven’t put you through college yet” She said no
“Oh mom, you should stop working hard for my school fees, I can just leave Jupiter high and attend a lower school, that would save us some money” I said
“No, you will keep on going to Jupiter high and i will keep on working, that is why am your mom”She said softly
“Okay Mom”I said softly and just then the door opened and Max walked in.
