Chapter 37
HONEY SALT’S KITCHEN*
She kept cleaning and suddenly lost hold of the mop stick as she felt drowsy. She was about to collapse when she felt a hand wrapped around her waist. She looked up and found Josh holding her as his eyes gazed right into hers.
“Are you ok?” Josh asked and she suddenly withdrew herself from his grip and stood upright.
“What are you doing here?” she asked instead and he smiled in a way that showed his perfectly shaped face.
“I guess that’s the new way of saying thank you.”
“And I will ask for the last time, what are you doing here?” she asked ignoring his question. He just kept staring at her beautiful eyes and then, down to her neck and then get hair. He knew she was tired and wanted to help in a way he can.
“I came to see you… You seem tired, can I help?”
“Do you really want to help me?” she asked and he nodded like a child whom was willing to do any job because of his favorite candy.
“Then get out, your help isn’t needed here!”
“That was rude… Anyways I will still help, so why don’t you go sit down somewhere and leave the rest to me.” he said and she scoffed. She was about to say something but he held her lips together and drew her close to himself.
Asha couldn’t say anything as she just blinked rapidly. His hand was wrapped around her waist and she couldn’t do anything but stare into his eyes.
Nobody has ever made her feel this way, not even camdan. She was so weak in the knees and have lost her strength to push him or sIap. This was unlike her, this guy was making her feel different.
‘Just who the he.ll is this guy’ she thought as kept staring at him. It was like they were in their own world and nobody was there.
His hand snaked round her body and stopped right at her back where the rope of the apron was tied. He tried losing it at the same time trying to make sure they don’t break their eye contacts.
He finally loosed the apron and removed it before he freed her from his grip. He also took the mop from her and she was shocked.
“How did you remove the apron?” she asked and he chuckled.
“It was easy, I just made sure to maintain our eye contact, nobody can resist my charm.” He bragged and she scoffed.
He tried the apron on his body and dragged her to a chair as he sat her down.
“I will take care of everything, you should just go eat something and relax your nerves.” he said and she smirked.
“You think it’s that easy?” she asked and he just winked at her before getting a hold of the mop and started cleaning.

Asha glanced at her wrist watch for the tenth time, it was 2:05pm and she will go pick Tara soon.
The restaurant was getting empty by the minute and was sparkling too. She couldn’t deny the fact that Josh did a great job.
She stared at Josh and saw him resting his head on the counter and she sighed.
Lucy came over to where she was seated and took the sit opposite hers. She was smiling widely at Asha who was lost staring at the tired Josh.
“Dmn, that guy truly loves you.” Lucy broke the silence and Asha averted her gaze to her.
“What do you mean?”
“I meant Your baby’s daddy, he loves you so much. When he came in I was shocked, though the guests couldn’t recognize him because not everybody knows him. But Asha, that guy loves you a lot.” Lucy stated and Asha just sighed.
“I don’t really know Lucy, am confused.”
“I know Asha, this is the most r®mantic thing I’ve seen. Him coming to your work place and doing your job for you, that’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.” Lucy said and Asha smiled.
“We’ve never been this close, what’s happened?”
“Things changed Asha, things changed.” Lucy said and they both burst into laughter. After a while Lucy left for the kitchen leaving Asha all alone.
‘Should I give him a chance?’ she thought as her mind flew to Tara. She was so confused right now and didn’t know what to do. Maybe she should give him a chance right?
Asha stood up and walked over to the counter. She tapped Josh on the shoulder and woke up with a funny expression and she laughed. He yawned widely and rubbed his eyes softly which reminded her of Tara.
“Geez, you’re really trying…I mean, my back aches a lot.” he touched his back and his stomach growled loudly.
Asha kept her index finger on her left cheek as she tapped on it continuously. She felt pity for him. It was actually funny, a rich guy worked so hard on her behalf and she felt honoured.
“Get up, so we can go eat.” she said and started walking away. He smiled and followed suite shortly.

NICOLE’S RESIDENCE*
Nicole opened the door of her apartment and walked in. She was surprised when she saw that the living was dark.
“Jace?” she called but there was no reply.
She turned on her phone’s flashlight and found her way to the switch.
“Oh my God!” she screamed with her hand tightly clutched on her chest.
The sight of Jace in the living room knelt like a buddhist creeped her out and she hated it.
“Oh, welcome back big sis.” Jace greeted with a smile that showed his perfectly white sets of tooth. Nicole frown deepened and Jace averted his gaze to somewhere else.
“Why didn’t you respond to my calling at first?”
“Well, I was actually meditating, am sorry.” he replied and she just rolled her eyes.
She pulled her heels and dragged her legs to a couch before she tossed her handbag on it. Her expression was glum and Jace noticed.
“Sis are you ok?” he asked and she started to cry. Jace was so confused and bewildered, he hasn’t seen his sister cried for a longtime.
He suddenly moved close and hugged her, he felt she needed it and besides he couldn’t just watch his big sister cry. She tightened the hug and buried her face on his chest.
“It’s ok, whatever it is am sure it will get sorted out.” he tried to console her but she sobbed hard.
“I didn’t know he was suffering so much.” she said as she sobbed hard continuously.
The thought of Camdan not being able to give birth ripped her off her skin. The envelope she saw earlier was a medical report of Camdan’s semen analysis.

Jace suddenly figured that she was talking about Camdan. Camdan has been the only guy who makes his sister go crazy.
“It’s ok sis, it will be fine ok?” he said and she nodded slowly.
