Chapter 39
THE DENNIS MANSION*
Tasha scattered her dressing table, making the makeups fall on the floor. The ones made with glass were broken and some just had a crack.
But it seems she wasn’t satisfied and without wasting anymore time, she pushed her dressing mirror on the floor making it crash and the broken pieces was everywhere.
“Arrrrgh!” she groaned frustratingly as she puIIed her hair with her the force built in her.
She still couldn’t believe it, the guy she loves so much ended things with her. The guy whom she has lived for and loved with everything in her just dumped her.
Somebody whom she has started planning her future with. How many babies they would have, how the wedding will look like, their honeymoon in Spain.
Everything she has planned, and now he came to end things with her just few months to the wedding.
She looked at the engagement ring on her middle finger and caressed it slowly, reminding her of when he inserted the ring on her finger four years ago.
She fell on the floor and hugged her knees together as she wept hard. Her hand went in contact with a broken glass and blood started gushing out but that wasn’t her problem, Josh was her problem.
“Tasha please open the door, let’s talk about this.” her mother said outside the room.
She has been there for over an hour but still, Tasha refused to come out or open the door.
“I don’t want to speak to anyone, go away!” she yelled and used her shoe to hit the door. Her mother flinched slightly.
“Alright baby but don’t do anything stupid. I will come later ok?” she said expecting a response from Tasha but she heard sniffing instead.
She wiped the tear that left her eyes before leaving. Seeing her child in such situations ki.lled everything in her.
She walked down the stairs and joined her husband in the living room.
“Has she opened the door yet?” Mr Dennis asked and she shook her head sideways. She couldn’t say a word as she felt for her daughter.
“I can’t just watch Tasha suffer this way, she’s too young too. She’s only twenty five.” Mrs Lucas said and her husband glanced at her briefly before taking his gaze back to the television in front of him.
“So, what do you want to do?”
“We are going to see the Lucas’s family tommorow and sort everything out.” she said and her husband just sighed.
After a while she stood up and left for Tasha’s room. Getting there, she knocked on Tasha’s room door.
“Baby please open the door. we will meet with your in-laws tommorow.” Mrs dennis said and Tasha opened the door.
She got inside and gasped at how the room has been disorganized. Then, her eyes got in contact with Tasha’s hand and she gasped more louder.
“Oh my God!, Baby are you ok?” she asked and Tasha hugged her.
“Mom, I miss Josh a lot… I don’t want to lose him otherwise I might go crazy.” she said with a sob and her mom patted her back.
“Don’t worry, you won’t go crazy. we will sort everything out with them tomorrow.”
Mr Dennis entered the room and shook his head in a pity manner.
“What is wrong with you huh?!” he yelled distracting them from their sweet moment.
“Dad… I.. ” he cut her off with a raise of his index finger.
“You should be ashamed of yourself.”
“Honey why are you yelling at her?” her mom said and he turned to her.
“Am talking to my daughter and not you.”
“I don’t understand dad, why are you shouting at me?” she said and he sat on the bed close to her.
He held her face and made her look at him, he cleaned the tears on her face and she smiled.
“You are beautiful darling and your are still young. Josh isn’t the only guy in the universe. There are lots of suitors waiting for you…So please forget about Josh and move on.” he said and she nodded her head before hugging her dad.

THE LUCAS’S MANSION*
Josh was seated in his room, going through a novel as usual when a knock was heard on his door.
He walked over to the door and it opened revealing Mr Dovan his Dad’s private investigator.
“Hello Mr Dovan.” Josh greeted with a smile and Mr Dovan returned the smile.
“Actually, your dad called for you and he seemed very angry.”
Josh knew his dad has found out about the breakup and he was fully prepared for it. He bit his bottom lips and smiled after.
“My dad should stop bothering me, am also someone’s father and my child doesn’t bother me.” Josh said as he studied Mr Dovan.
He was really good at his job, he wasn’t acting suspicious, he kept such an expressionless face. Josh knew he found out about him having a child and he also knew about Tara.
“You are really great at your job Mr Dovan.” Josh blurted out and Dovan chuckled.
“I don’t understand what you mean by that Master Josh.”
“Don’t try acting smart with me Mr Dovan, I know you work for my dad and he ordered you to stalk me. I also knew that you inserted a small pen in my jacket the other day and it turned out to be a recorder. I’ve gone through a lot in life, I lived alone both in sadness and depression. I know how this world works, so am not naive and am not a fool.” Josh stated and patted him on the shoulder before leaving.
Mr Dovan was speechless, his young master was way smarter and ahead of him.
“Such a smart guy.” he smirked and followed suite.
Josh got to the living room and met his dad pacing around as he tapped his feet on the floor.
“Do you realize the grave mistake you just made?” Mr Lucas asked calmly immediately he laid his eyes on Josh.
“I didn’t make any mistake, I only did what was right. Am sorry dad if I’ve offended you.” Josh said with the most unremorseful expression.
His father charged forward and hit him across his face, on both cheeks.
“If mom was here you wouldn’t have hit me, you know that right?” Josh asked as tears clouded his eyes.
“What?”
“If mom was here, you wouldn’t have hit me because she would protect me and that’s because she loves me. But you don’t love me, all you care about is money and fame and am sick of it!” Josh half yelled and asked
“Are you done stalking me? Did you enjoy stalking me?”
“Get out! Now!” his father yelled and he carried a car key before leaving the house.

The master’s bed room…
Mrs Lucas stepped out of the bathroom, with a white towel tied on her chest and hair. She just took a hot shower.
She walked over to the dressing mirror and loosed the head towel which made her wet hair fall freely on her shoulders.
She carried a blow dryer and wanted to turn it on when she heard voices that seems like arguments.
“Josh is really giving my husband severe headache. That boy needs to leave this house and I will make sure of that.” she said with a smirk.
She picked up the blow dryer and wanted to make use of it, when her phone made a “bing sound”.
She carried it and saw that a text message that has been sent to her phone. Without wasting anymore time she opened the text message and read it out loud.
“Hello victoria, longtime.” she read and shivers ran down her spine…it was a new number. She scrolled down and read the last part.
“Am watching your every move victoria, so mind how you act.”
She quickly switched off her phone and looked outside the room window and saw nothing.

“It was just a prank victoria, don’t be scared.” she assured herself.
