Chapter 51
THE LUCAS’S EMPIRE*
Camdan kept looking outside the huge window in his office. He cussed silently when he didn’t see a sign of Nicole.
“Wait, is she going to come back?” he asked no one in specific.
He sighed tiredly and brought out his phone placing a call across to her, but he stopped the moment the door opened and Nicole walked in.
“Good morning sir.” She greeted with a smile on her face as usual.
Camdan couldn’t believe his eyes, he couldn’t believe that Nicole was actually standing in front of him.
“Gosh, I must be hallucinating again.” he sIapped his face lightly.
Nicole stood there staring at Camdan with a quizzical expression on her face. She bit her inner cheek to stop herself from laughing.
“Why do I miss you so suddenly?, I miss you to the extent that I hallucinate about you. I think I’ve fallen in love with you…but it’s making me go crazy. Can you get out of my head?” he asked gazing into her beautiful emerald eyes.
Nicole was taken aback, she couldn’t believe her ears. Did her boss just confessed his feelings to her?
“Sir Camdan it’s me Nicole, you called me yesterday remember?, You said I should resume work,” She explained and Camdan stood up and rushed to her.
“Nicole is it really you?”
“Yes it’s me sir Camdan, are you ok?” she asked batting her lashes.
His hands found it’s way to her face and he caressed her cheek slowly, feeling her flawless skin rubbing against his fingers.
“I missed you,” he uttered slowly and crashed his lips on hers. He started in a slow pace and gradually it turned into something fast.
Nicole felt weak in the knees and almost fell but Camdan was fast to support her with his other hand.
Nicole widened her eyes in surprise, she couldn’t believe they were actually having a kss right now.
She felt happy, since it’s what she wanted anyway but then, she felt uneasy and broke the kiss.
“Is there something wrong?” he asked and she bit her bottom lips.
“I am sorry Sir, I came for work.” she replied and he let out a sad smile. She liked him too but she didn’t want to be so cheap.
‘Did Asha feel the same way when I ended things with her?’ he thought.
“No it’s fine, I lost my mind and am sorry.”
“I will get back to work now sir.” she uttered slowly and walked out of his office.
He felt a st.ab in his heart immediately she left his office and he felt incomplete, like a part of him was taken with her.
“I need to see Josh” He uttered inaudibly and left his office.

BAKER’S DINER*
“So why do want to see me?” Josh asked with a smile. When his brother called that they needed to see, he felt so happy.
One could think that Josh was stupid for loving his brother, while all his brother has ever done was to hate him.
But the truth was that, his brother loved him and he knew that. His brother was has always been his hero since they were little.
He remembered the time he was seven when a car almost hit him, but Camdan pushed him aside and he got hurt instead which made him stay in a comatose state in two weeks.
‘If that isn’t love then what is?’ he thought.
“How are you doing?” Camdan asked instead.
“I am fine, everything is fine.”
“I haven’t seen Asha after what happened between us. I just felt ashamed of myself. Can you send my apologies to her?” Camdan politely asked and Josh got confused.
“You know Asha?, I don’t understand, what happened between you two?”
“I met Asha long ago but you know she even existed. We were at the verge of dating but I ended things between us.” Camdan explained.
Josh felt used and hurt. He couldn’t believe Asha hid everything from him.
‘Did they have s.ex?’ he thought, he really wants to know but he won’t ask his brother, that question will be for Asha to answer.
“I actually met Asha four years ago when my mom died. We had a one night stand and now I have a daughter.” Josh explained.
“You are not serious are you?” Camdan laughed.
“I am serious, you know nothing about it right?”
“Yeah, she never told me that she’s a single mum. This whole thing is more like a billonaire romance novel, where there are lots of twists.” Camdan chuckled.
“Yeah, you remember the novel we read, when we were in high school?” Josh asked and Camdan snapped his fingers, trying to remember the title of the novel.
“Yes I remember, “The billonaire in love I fell in love with.”
“Exactly, that was one hell of a novel.” Josh smiled. They stayed quiet for a while till Camdan spoke up.
“I am sorry Josh, I treated you like trash…I never meant any of it, can you forgive me?”
Josh got baffled and happy at the same time. He smiled and grabbed the glass of water that was in front of him.
Camdan said nothing as he stared at Josh drinking the water, he was getting a bit scared thinking Josh will push him out.
“I forgive you big bro, you are my role model. I just want you to stop doing one thing.” Josh said.
“What is that?”
“Stop living like dad’s puppet, man up, do what makes you happy. I know you don’t want to get married to cassey.” Josh said, while Camdan smiled lightly.

“Don’t call me ever again!” Mrs Lucas yelled over the phone and hanged up on the person.
She threw her phone on the couch and sat beside it, breathing heavily as her chest heaved high and low.
After a while the phone rang out loud and she ended the call. It rang again and this time,.with annoyance she answered the call.
? What do you want from me kevin?, Why are you taunting me?
? I told you already victoria, I want to see my son and I want to have my own share of the property. Have you forgotten about the deal we had?,
? That deal was 27 years ago and it’s no longer valid, so leave me alone!
? You should better give me what I want or else…
? Or else what?, What would you do?, There’s nothing you can do Kevin. You are just a poor and lonely man, who’s frustrated.
? What would you do if Josh finds out that you killed his mother?
? Don’t you try anything funny kevin… don’t you dare!, You are not going to tell Josh a thing.
? I know you are doing this because you want to see Camdan.
? Yes, Camdan is my son and I will see what he looks like, he deserves to know the truth.
? Camdan might be your son but I will never accept it!, Never!
“Mom?” Camdan called and she hunged on the call.
