“All done, she’s really improving fast, she’ll be fully healed in a matter of days but she should still be resting till she’ll be fully recovered” the doctor attending to Melanie said after checking her vitals

“I’m glad… and I’ll make sure she rests” Philip replied happily

Robin has gone to school

“And Mr Albert, you can’t stress yourself too, your wound might get scratched if you do that”

” How many times will you tell me what?, I can even recite that hundred times, I won’t stress myself” Philip replied, all smiles

” Good… I’ll be off, I’ll see you both tomorrow morning again, keep improving” the doctor said before leaving

Philip escorted him to the door before coming back upstairs, he has made sure Melanie stayed in his room since they arrived last night

“Mr Albert… I mean…. Philip, I think I should cook something” Melanie said when he entered

” Miss Melanie, you heard when the doctor told you to rest more” he replied, sitting on a stool beside the bed

” I know but…

He placed his finger on her lips

” Not allowed” he said

She continued looking at him till she smiled

He’s too caring, he was the one who cooked their dinner last night, and he tried a lot to make it delicious

They ate bread and jam for breakfast this morning

“Thanks for taking care of me Mr Albert”

“Mr Albert? ”

” I’m sorry.. I mean, Philip” she corrected

He smiled and stroked her hair gently

“Thanks for staying, you’re special in case you dunno, and I….

” What? ‘ she asked

” Don’t worry, one of these days, I’ll tell you” he replied and stood but she held his hand

” Where are you going? ”

“Nowhere, calm down” he replied with a smile

He took her hand and kssed the back of it

“You really won’t tell me what happened in the volume two of Mystery Of The Dark Room? ” He said, going into his dressing room

” I already said it’s nothing to talk about, it’s too too sad” she replied bluntly

He came out of the dressing room and sat on the bed beside her

“For yelling at you when you slept on this bed the other day, I’m sorry” he said

She smiled and held his hand

” It’s nothing, you did what any boss will do” she replied

“But now I don’t want to be your boss anymore, I want to be more that a boss” he replied

They continued staring at each other for a while before he heaved a sigh and drew her closer to his chest

“Rest on my chest, it’s better than any bed” he said

She looked up at him before resting on his chest like he requested

He stroked her hair continually in the process

“Your stomach doesn’t hurt right?” She asked

“At all, how many times will you ask that, I’m fine” he replied

“Philip?” She suddenly said

“Yes?”

“Do you still love Stella?” She asked

“Right now I’ve lost everything I felt for her, my heart beats for someone else, someone I wish would say yes when I finally ask for marriage, someone I wish will stay forever and never be a runaway wife again…. I trust that person so Stella is my past… I’m planning on making the person my present” he replied

” And the person is? ” She asked

” Don’t be in haste, you’ll get to know just soon” he replied

Melanie snuggled closer to his warn chest, all she knows is that right now she feels good, protected and saved.. maybe one other thing cos her heart is seriously thumping…

Angelina kiddies school**

The kids swooned around Robin, urging him to tell them about his chef who was wrongly accused by his dad’s former manager and he’s more than ready to tell stories about her

*Wait.. she’s not just my ordinary chef, she’s my honey right now and I love her just as much as I love my dad” he replied

” So you don’t mind having her as your new mum? ” Michelle asked

” No I don’t, I want her to be my mum anyways and I’ll make sure dad gets married to her” he replied

*And I heard she cooks delicious foods, can you invite us over to your house some day for dinner?” A kid asked

” Sure, that’ll happen very soon” he replied

“I can’t wait” Michelle replied

Robin is about to talk again when he felt a sharp pain in his chest

He has been feeling that since he fainted during Melanie’s arrest

He held his chest quick

“Rob are you fine?” Michelle asked and the other kids has worried looks on their faces too

“I’ll go call miss Angel” a kid said

“I’m ok, no need to worry” Robin said when the pain finally died down

“Are you sure?” Michelle said beside him

“Trust me” he replied

Susan kept smiling while sitting on the small couch, watching TV in the house

It’s somehow boring to sit in the house without working and with no one to talk to but it’s what she has to do now cos that’s what Philip wants

She’ll just continue sleeping at home everyday till Valerie will be back from school

She felt like drinking water so she stood and went to the kitchen to get water from the dispenser

Immediately she held the cup, she felt a burning pain in her throat, she coughed uncontrollably and quickly took tissues to cover her mouth with but when she stopped coughing and took the tissue away from her mouth, there’s blood on it

She held her throat and managed to get the water

She drank it, rinsed get mouth with it before spitting it out

She breathed heavily as she walked back to the living room.. ..

“Michelle!” Melanie exclaimed when she saw her coming in with Robin from school

“” Chef Melanie” Michelle replied and hugged her

Robin went to Philip in the living room and pecked him

“You pecked me first today, I’m blushing” he said

“So you’ve been jealous that I always peck my honey first” Robin said

” Yes, a lot” Philip replied

” So chef, how are you feeling now? ” Michelle asked

” Just good” she replied

” Dad the meal you cooked last night made last night worse, it was full of bad dreams” Robin said

” What! ” Philip said

Melanie laughed with Michelle

“Yes, it’s not close to tasty… So honey, rest very very well and resume giving me delicious food, I can’t wait!, I love you! ” Robin said and kssed Melanie’s cheeks…

*Love you mum” he whispered in her ear before going upstairs

Melanie’s heart skipped beats

“Mum?”

“I feel bad, he has a bad mouth” Philip said with a pout

” Wow, pouting fits you just like it fits Robin” she said

” Really? ”

” Yeah, it kind of makes you look cuter” she replied

“Then I guess I’ll do it repeatedly from now on” he replied and pouted again

Melanie laughed loudly

” What?”

“You look like a bear, teddy bear” she replied

“That’s cute” he replied and they both laughed, forgetting Michelle is there

“My dad will come and pick me up ten minutes from now, can I go meet Robin upstairs? ” She asked

” Of course” Philip replied

She Climbed upstairs and knocked before entering Robin’s room

“Nice room” she said

“I know right?” He replied, wearing his cap backwards

*By the way, I don’t think you need to work too hard, your potential mum is ready.. I think they’ll because an item soon, they are laughing and joking with each other downstairs, you need to see how cute they are” Michelle said

” Really?, Then I can’t wait, I really can’t wait to call her mother everyday” he replied

Valerie can’t get the scene at school earlier off her mind, like Dwayne laughed, he smiled and it’s extra cute!, Like too too cute

She stayed in front of the mirror, checking out herself

She held a handful of her hair and smiled

*During the trip to New York on Friday, I have to try my best to look more pretty” she said

Susan entered her room and she didn’t even know when she came in, she kept admiring herself in front of the mirror till Susan hit her head lightly

“Ouch!, Mum!” She said, looking up at her

“So you have a crush already?, Huh?” Susan said sternly

“You heard all that?” She said

“Yeah, having to look good during the Friday trip just to impress a guy huh?” Susan said

” But mum ..

“You’re just eighteen” Susan interrupted

*It doesn’t matter mum, the heart can’t be controlled” she replied, Standing up

” Really?, What silly heart?, What do you know you little thing” Susan replied, picking a comb from her dressing table

*Mum!” She yelled, running out of the room

” Why don’t you wait!” Susan said, rushing after her

She got to the living room and fell on the couch

“Mum you can’t stress yourself” Valerie said, breathing hard

“Just be careful, love life shouldn’t affect academics, you’re a bright girl” Susan said

” Much love mummy” she replied, blowing ksses…

Dwayne laughed again at the sound of that name

Retarded,….

He’s eating noodles as usual, he drank juice after taking a number of forks

How he laughed in front of her is still a surprise cos to him, laughing or smiling has become his greatest enemy since he lost his mom

But today after many years, he laughed again, all thanks to Miss retarded

He picked a book to read but later dropped it … he hates reading, in fact he doesn’t read but anytime he attends classes, all what he listens to will sink to his retentive memory, maybe that’s why he’s brilliant

He lay on the couch in his lonely house and tried to sleep but sleep is not coming…

“Re-tar-ded” he said and smiled again…

Night***

“I’ll turn my back so you can change” Philip said when it’s time for Melanie to change into her nightie

Last night she’s the only one who slept on the bed, he sat on a stool and watched her sleep throughout

“Oh..ok” she said

He turned his back and she quickly changed into her short white nightie

“Done?” He asked

“Yeah” she replied

He looked at her and smiled

“Not bad, come here” he said

She walked slowly to the bed and climbed beside him shyly though she’s feeling sleepy badly

“Today was…

” Cool, you stayed with me althrough” she replied

He smiled

” Yeah, and till you’ll finish your resting period, I’ll always stay at home” he replied

” But…

“Are you perhaps worried about AR group of companies?, You don’t have to worry, nothing will happen, I’ll work from home” he said

She hugged him immediately

” I’m glad” she said and yawned softly

” should I read you a book till you’ll fall asleep?” He asked

She nodded and he took a book from the stand

” I’ve read it but please reread it” she replied

” Is there even any horror novel you haven’t read?” He said

She chuckled and placed her head on his chest

“I’m a die hard fan of it so you can’t expect less” she replied

“Ok let’s start reading” he said and cleared his throat

Philip felt Melanie’s head falling deeply into his chest

He glanced at her and she’s already asleep

“Beauty” he said and smiled before laying on the bed too, making her head rest completely on his chest

He touched her hair continuously and kept staring at her face non-stop

She’s so pretty, she curved her lips in her sleeping position, making her look more adorable as her lashes hugged each other

He caressed her cheek and his hand mistakenly touched her lips

Her eyes opened and she stayed still, feeling her increasing heartbeat when she sensed what he’s about to do…

She let her lashes hug each other again as she closed her eyes, anticipating badly

Philip went ahead , her red lips calls for a deep kss right now and he’s ready to give that, so far he feels this way for her

He interlinked their fingers and made to interlink their lips too but…

“Dad!!, Honey!!” Came Robin’s voice from his room

Philip let go of her and climbed down the b. ed, Melanie did the same and they both rushed out of the room to Robin’s room.
