Arya’s Pov:
“You should see how beautiful my invitation card is Sofia” I giggled with excitement.
“Don’t tell me you are serious?” She laughed happily.
“Honestly I can’t believe it myself! To think my Mom actually fulfilled get promise this time to throw me a birthday party” I said.
“Am so happy! You should know how much I love partying” Sofia giggled.
“I know right! Well am thinking of who else to invite you know I don’t even have much friends” I bite my lower lip.
“You leave that to me! I will help you invite a whole lot of people” Sofia snapped.
“I sure trust you with stuffs like that” I said.
“And you won’t forget to invite your Prince charming” She laughed.
“What Prince charming are you talking about?” I arched my eyebrows.
“Will you stop acting like you don’t know what am talking about already” She said.
I placed the cell phone on my right ear rolling my eyes.
“But I don’t know what you are talking about! So why should I pretend like I understand you when I don’t” I snorted.
“Don’t you know your Prince charming anymore? Don’t you know Martin” She said as I scoffed.
“What? When did that guy and I become so close that you call him my prince charming?” I shook my head.
“I don’t even want to know what you think about him! What’s important is that i know he is your Prince charming” She said as I sighed.
“I don’t know what you are talking about and it’s high time you stop referring to that Martin as my Prince charming since you know fully well that he has a girlfriend” I said.
“And so what if he has a girlfriend? I don’t think Martin likes that proud peacock Kim” She started.
“Thats none of my business! Actually I don’t want to know if he loves her or not.. they are together that’s something you should not forget” I said.
“That will not be for too long am sure of that” She replied almost immediately.
“What is wrong with you Sofia? Why do you keep speaking like you are so certain?” I asked.
“Wait and see my dear! I know how these things work” She said as I burst into laughter.
“You know how these things work and yet you are single?” I laughed heartily.
“You silly girl! Well let’s say am still single because I haven’t met my own Prince charming” She sneered.
“Yeah whatever! Until you get your own Prince charming don’t tell me you know something about them” I said as she sighed loudly.
“Arghhhh.. you are so unbelievable well that won’t stop me from telling you that Martin likes you a lot” She said as I groaned.
“Your time is up ma’am! I have to go downstairs for dinner now we will talk when I get to school tomorrow” I said.
“Ok sure! Take good care of yourself then” She said as I smiled before hanging up.
I dropped my cell phone on my bed as I walked out of my room.
“Mommy! Am so hungry and…” I said as I walked downstairs but then I paused immediately I saw my Mom sitting gloomily on the couch.
“Mom are you okay?” I asked her anxiously as she quickly forced a smile at me.
“Yes of course my darling! Am just thinking of something” She said as I arched my eyebrows.
“Thinking of something? What happened Mom? You know you can tell me anything right?” I said as she smiled at me.
“Of course child but you don’t have to worry about mommy am fine” She said as I nodded my head still not convinced that she is ok.

Patrick’s Pov:
I sat on my bed smiling crazily at nothing as my Mom walked into the room.
I didn’t even notice her presence so I continued smiling.
She stood in akimbo staring at me in confusion.
“What the he.ll is wrong with this young man?” She thought aloud but that still didn’t draw my attention to her.
“Patrick! Patrick?!” She called but I wasn’t even looking at her until she tapped me and I shivered in fear.
“Mom you startled me” I said sharply as she shook her head.
“I have been standing here Patrick and you didn’t even notice and I went ahead calling you but you didn’t still notice that I was here and you have been smiling crazily” She said as I gulped hard.
“it’s nothing Mom! Am fine” I pretended.
“I didn’t say you are not fine Patrick! I want to know what is making you smile so absentmindedly” she said as I scratched my head.
“It’s nothing Mom! It is not important I just remembered something that happened in school” I said.
“I hope so cos I wouldn’t want it to be something else cos if you get yourself into another trouble then I won’t help you out like I did the last time” She said as I exhaled deeply.
“Why do you always think of trouble Mom? Who said am getting into trouble? So I can’t smile anymore without you guys thinking that am smiling cos I want to make trouble?” I feigned anger.
“I don’t mean it that way my son! What am saying is that you shouldn’t get yourself into trouble cos your father like you know won’t take things lightly with you if that happens” She explained.
“Well I can assure Mom that am not doing anything bad this time around and that’s a promise” I said.
“Am happy you are not son cos I don’t like it when your father keeps on talking about you like you are a prodigal son” She said as I forced a smile at her.
“So tell me the reason why you were laughing earlier” She said as I gulped hard.
“Uhmmm.. Mom can’t you just let that slide” I said as she shook her head in disagreement.
“You know I won’t” I said.
“Well we spoke today” I smiled again.
“We? Who is that?” She asked.
“Arya” I said with a smile.
“Did you say Aliyah?” She widened her eyes I’m shock….
