“Okay sir, enjoy your flight”the air hostess announced through the speakers.
After doing the routine check and having to go through the normal procedure before boarding the plane has got me feeling tired but what got me feeling more worried is Emily who has not spoken to me ever since the mansion
She hasn’t been talking to me and each time I talk to her, she either replies with a yes or no.
Ever since her parents call, she has been acting strange.
She didn’t try to talk to me and that is some thing to be worried about.
Is it because I asked her to leave the resort and come with me to the city.
The resort mean a lot to her and just telling her to leave out of the blue will get her angry and besides her mom is right.
She isn’t safe on the island not with my mom knowing who she really is.
And not with her getting to remember some few things,I don’t want her to remember it and I will do all I can to stop her from remembering, I thought as i turned to stare at her only to see her looking at me in a weird way
“What’s wrong?”I asked and she looked away
“It’s nothing”she replied softly
“You have been acting strange since morning, can you tell me what is wrong?”I asked her
“Do you have some thing to tell me ?”she asked as she stared at me
“What?”I asked
“You don’t have right! Well forget it, I want to rest a bit”she said as she put the eye mask over her face
As we kept on going, I kept on wondering what she was talking about.
What do I have to tell her and I was surprised to see the look on her face this after noon, she looks angry, angry at me for what? .
It took a while before we got to the city and as soon as we landed, my secretary was waiting with the car.
We got in and he drove off to the hotel where we will be staying .
“Why are we here?” She asked
“This is where we will be staying “I said
“But why?”
“I have to see my parents?”she said
“We will do that tomorrow”I said as I got out of the car
“But she will be worried?”
“I already called them and I told them that we both arrived safely and that you will be seeing them tomorrow”I said
“But I still have to talk to them,I have to do that tonight”she said and quickly I gave her peck wanting her to forget the call her mother had given her
“We will do it tomorrow Andrea, common let’s go”I said as I pulled her into the hotel
Just then my secretary came back with a waiter who had two glasses of champagne with him.
“This is to welcome you and your bride to the city sir”he said
“You shouldn’t have bothered”I said as I stared at him
“But I have to ,I wasn’t around for your wedding but I can as well drink to your health”he said
“Fine then, a drink wouldn’t hurt,right my love?”I asked Emily whose mind was some where else
“Uh! Yes,it wouldn’t hurt”she said as she quickly took the glass and gulped down the drink.
I drank mine and we continued our journey to the room.
“Cade!”she called softly and I looked at her, she was looking sleepy.
“What’s wrong?”
“I don’t know but all of a sudden I just want to Slee………….”she couldn’t finish her words because she slept off.
Finally! I thought as I lifted her in my arms and took her straight to our room.
I layed her on the bed and soon the maid I had hired to watch over her came into the room.
“She will be sleeping all thorough to the Morning, just watch over her until I return”I said to her and she nodded softly.
I began to head out but I stopped to stare at the sleeping Emily
“Am sorry Emily but I have to stop you from talking to your parents tonight”I muttered softly and then i left the room..
“Is she asleep sir”my secretary asked as we head out of the hotel
“Yes she is,I hope you didnt put too much sleeping pill in the drink?”i asked
“Of course not, am an expert on this you know, she will just be asleep until tomorrow”he said
“That fine then”
“So are we heading to your in-laws house now?”he asked
“Not we, I will be going myself”I said as I left the room and went to my car heading to the Wilburn house.
I have to talk to her parents before Emily tall to them
She had been hysterical this morning and it’s because she finally got a clue when Emily mentioned the name of the island.
Am sure that they both know every thing and that is why she had asked Emily to come back.
If they should tell her the truth they will certainly ruin the chance for me to tell Emily myself.
I want to be the one to tell her and that is why am going to their house to make a deal or if necessary to ask them to keep it a secret.
In the past I had been cruel to her, I had ruined her life by forcing myself on her and now I love her more than any thing in the world and i wont let the past ruin what I have now.
I got to the Wilburn mansion and knock on the door
“Emily my ………..” Her mother stopped when she saw that I was the only one there
“Where is my daughter?”she asked
“Emily is……”
“Where have you put my daughter you mon$ter”she yelled as she pushed me
“Emily is safe ma’am, I just want to…………..”
“Stop telling me my daughter is safe, where is she? I want to know where she is”she kept yelling until her husband walked out.
“Stop it Erica!”he said as he held his wife back
“I don’t want to see him here,I don’t want to see him here Peter”she said as tried to pull out of his arms
“Anger wouldn’t solve this, let’s go inside Cade”he said and we all walked into the room
We sat down together and then her mother started again
“I should have known that it was you but I never thought that she will meet any one of the de.mon that ruined her life before”
“I didn’t plan it, if that is what you are thinking”I said softly
“You did? How did you know her and why did you choose to marry her ,You knew who she was right from the start”
“I didn’t know,The last thing I heard of Racheal was that she died, I didn’t know that Emily is Racheal,I swear”
“Then why are you here? How did you know that we asked her to come back mainly for this secret”her father asked
“The phone call said it all and I came here to talk to you before you talk to her?”I said
“Why ? Are you here to stop us, are you and your parents going to threaten us like you did in the past ?”she asked
“They were powerless, they didn’t deserve that,most especially poor Emily, she had to suffer first from you raping her and then you had her mother killed and then you tried to kill her”
“If crazy Lucy hadn’t bring her to us that night, she would have died, she woke up after being in a coma for six months and I was lucky when she woke up only not to remember a thing”
“And she never remembered until you came back to her life, I don’t want my daughter to go through pain again, I don’t want her life to be in danger again and so she must know the truth, that way she will stay away from evil people like you “she said angrily
“That is why have come here”I said as I stood up suddenly
“We aren’t going to listen to you, Emily needs to know the truth, she needs to stay away from the guy who ruined her life, the only one who ……….”she stopped when she saw that I knelt down.
“What’s this? A new trick?”she asked
“No its me begging you not to tell Emily, that is why have come here tonight, please don’t say any thing to her!,please”I begged softly and they both sat starring at me surprise.
