I’M A BRAT AND I’M IN LOVE: Chapter 11 – The End

I’M A BRAT AND I’M IN LOVE

(No more broken hearts??)

Chapter 22
(The calm before the storm.????)

Mr Sato sat quietly in his study, his hands on his chin. The only sounds in the room were the ticking of the clock and that of his breathing. He cast his eyes to his desk, which was littered with several pictures of his daughter and Levi Akabane.

Mr Sato grit his teeth in anger. Rika was really pushing him over the edge. Even after all he had done to get her to see reason, she still chose to be foolish.

It pissed him off.

The thought of his beautiful daughter, being manh@ndled by some r@scal.

Why would Rika want anything else, when she had him?

If she was enough for him, why wasn’t he enough for her?

Rika was his everything, and even until now, he didn’t know how he had survived on this Earth without her. When she had been born, it felt like his life finally had meaning, had purpose.

Throughout his life, he just existed, without a greater purpose than the need to feed, clotye and reproduce. He went through life because he had to. But when Rika had come into his life….well, let’s just say he he felt as if he had found the real reason for his existence.

So why?

Why couldn’t she see how much he loved her?

He was sure that Levi had brainwashed her somehow.

That had to be the only explanation.

Rika would never leave him. No.

He wouldn’t let her.

?????

The year soon rolled by and a new one began. Rika had gained admission as expected, and she, Hunter and Joy had celebrated it happily. Things had been peaceful those few weeks, as her father hardly gave her any attention. She was suspicious, but finally decided to avoid him as best as she could until she left the state.

She was sad to leave Levi, but also extremely excited at the future that awaited her in school.

On the day of her departure, she stood in the airport while her bags were being cleared, Greta standing by her while her parents went to deal with some paperwork on her boarding. Greta couldn’t stop crying.

“My baby, take care of yourself okay? Don’t follow boys around, don’t stay out too late….eat well….” She mumbled continuously, as she held Rika’s hands tightly, sniffling and wiping tears. Rika smiled kindly at this old woman, who was more of a mother to her than her own mother ever was.

“I’ll be fine Greta. I’m not a kid anymore.” She said softly, but her words only earned her another bout of tears from the crying old woman.

“You might think you’re so grown up, but deep down you know you’re still my little baby.” Greta said, and Rika rose a hand to wipe Greta’s eyes. She smiled at her.

“Thank you, Greta.”

The old woman sniffed. “For what dear?”

“For caring about me.” Rika responded, and more tears welled up until Greta’s eyes.

Her parents finally walked back up to them.

“Okay, so we’re done taking care of everything. You just have to wait to board the plane.” Mrs Sato said casually, before noticing Greta wrapped around Rika, and a look of irritation crossed her face. She faced her daughter.

“I don’t really have much to say to you Rika. Just focus on your studies, and finish on time so that you can come back and inherit the company. And no incidents too. Trouble seems to follow you wherever you go. If it’s not n@ked pictures then it’s b0mb bl@sts. You always find some way to ruin the company’s reputation.” She said dismissively and Rika smiled.

“Yes mother,” she answered sweetly.

Her father moved closer to her, smiling. It made her insides turn.

“Pay no mind to your mother my dear. She’s just going to miss you a lot.” He said softly, then wrapped Rika up in a big hug. He brought his lips to her ear and whispered,

“You can run as far as you want Rika. You’ll always still come back to me.”

Rika broke out in a cold sweat, and her breath started to seize.

Her father pulled away from her, still smiling, and Rika quickly averted her eyes. Soon enough the plane began boarding, and Rika went in, leaving behind her home, and everything she had ever known.

????

Rika settled in quickly in the University. She began classes, and had her fair share of friends. She talked to Levi as much as she could, but she got more busy than she expected, and their chats and video calls reduced.

He always urged her to focus more on here studies than him, but she noticed that he made efforts to talk to her too as much as he could. He always texted her his usual “goodnight”, even if they hadn’t spoken all day.

The months passed very quickly, another birthday coming and going, and Rika turned twenty. She never went home for the holidays, preferring to spend them at school, studying. This wasn’t a problem with her mother, who only called at the end of the semester to ask about her results. Her father however, called excessively, and she ignored his calls as best as she could.

Her stomach growled as she parked her car and began to head up her apartment building, ready to turn in after a long day of classes. Her parents had rented her an apartment as her living quarters which was just a fifteen minute drive to and from the campus.

She began to approach her apartment, but stopped dead in her tracks at who was standing at her door.

“Daddy.” She gasped. “You…. didn’t tell me you were coming.”

Mr Sato smiled at his daughter. “Did you give me any chance to? You don’t ever pick my calls.” He said sweetly.

Rika bit her lip. “I’m really busy daddy. I would never ignore you on purpose.” She said quietly, and gulped. “What….brings you here?”

He began to walk towards her slowly. “How long did you think you could stay away from home Rika?” He asked, and she tensed, her breath hitching.

“Your long absence has caused me to resort to….. unsavory methods of finding satisfaction. I really am getting sick of your little tricks my dear. You know how much your daddy needs you.”

He was inches away from her now. “Shall we go in?” He asked, and Rika shook her head. She knew what would happen if she was in her apartment with him alone.

“I…have a class in ten minutes.” She lied, staring at the ground and shaking. She heard her father sigh.

“Come home Rika. Once you are on holidays, come home.” He grabbed her hand roughly and she winced.

“Or so help me, I will take out all of my pent up frustration on your little boyfriend.” He spat out firmly.

Beads of sweat gathered on Rika’s face, and she choked back tears. He loosened his grip on her hand and touched her face tenderly.

“I’ll get going now. I have a meeting tomorrow morning. I would have loved to stay though.” He said slowly, his voice low. Rika didn’t answer.

Mr Sato leaned in and kssed her lips tenderly. Rika couldn’t do anything, she just stayed limp trying not to scream. He seemed irritated by her silence, and deepened the kss roughly, earning a strained whimper from her.

“Mmm.” He said contentedly as he finally pulled away, his face flushed.

“See you soon, my love.” He whispered as he began to walk away, leaving Rika standing alone in the hallway, frozen in fear.
