CADE POV
I stood watching the police and fire man take over the penitentiary.
A part of me wished that David will be dead and out of our lives and another wished that he will be alive to pay for what he has put Emily through.
Just then the fire man walked back to us,bringing the news about David.
“There are two David prisoners but their faces have Beeb burnt, it’s unrecognisable but we found this in one of the burnt David hand”The fire fighter said showing me a ring in a little paper nylon
I took it from him starring at it and I knew with no doubt that David is dead.
“It belongs to David”I said softly
“So one identity have been confirmed, we will have to get the other”the fire fighter said as he ran off with the paper bag
Some how I felt sad as I walked back to the car.
I just can’t believe that David is gone, no matter what, David had been my friend..
I drove back home thinking about our child hood together.
He had been the best of friend and was so reliable but every thing changed between us when he became greedy for my father money, he became worse when he got obsessed over Emily.
His father will surely be in pain when he knows that David is dead,I thought as I got home.
My father was waiting in the living room when I walked in
“What’s wrong? Why did you suddenly tighten the security?”he asked
“Well I was at the prison today and they said there was a fire out break at the penetentiary, David was there and I thought that he might have escaped “I said softly
“But he is still in jail right?”he asked
“Far worse dad, David is dead!” I said softly
“My God! This will be bad for Silas!”he said softly
“Are you going to tell him?”I asked and he nodded softly
“I will and I will deal with the funeral too” he said and With that taken care of I went to the room only to see Emily reading a book
“You look haggard Cade! What happen?”I asked
“David is dead”I said as i laid on the b.ed beside her
“What! But how come”I asked And I gave her a brief explanation.
“It’s so sad”she muttered as she held me close.
“It is but don’t you hate him, I mean he kidnapped you ?”I asked
“David was the first friend I had when I got here, he was a charmer and kind too, I would rather remember him as a kind friend than as the guy who got obsessed over me”she said softly
“You really have a forgiving heart”I said as I held her close
“I do?”she questioned softly
“Yes, you forgave me even when I did terrible things to you and you are doing the same thing with David, am so lucky to have you”I said
“And I am lucky to have you too”she replied
“I went to see my Mom today”I began softly
“Why”she asked
“I had to know the truth, I needed to know if our child is really alive and she……..”
“What did she say Cade? Tell me please”she said looking very eager
“Our child is alive, she is alive my love”I said and she gave me a smile
“I told you right! She is alive, tell me did she tell you where our child is ?”she asked
“She didn’t but we will find her okay,I will do my best in bringing you our child”I said and She gave him a smile.

EMILY POV
“you don’t have to go to the wake Emily,me being there is enough”Cade said as I got dressed along side him
“I can’t stay on the bed forever, so let’s just keep on with what we are doing,pretend that am not here”I said as I got dressed too
“You are one stubborn lady, do you know that?”he asked
“A stubborn lady who loves you”I added and that totally made him fall for me
A while later we left the room and went to the wake together.
It was just a little wake which was being carried out.
People who knew him came to give their condolence and I sat on an empty chair starring at every thing.
Though David had done a lot of foolish things,he still didn’t deserve to die like this! I thought as I stared at him.
Just then I saw Silas starring at me from a distance and gently l gave him a smile, a smile which he never returned.
What’s wrong?I wondered as I looked away from him.
“Hey! You look tired, let’s go back to the bed room, you have done enough by being here”Cade said as he came to me
“I think so, am feeling sleepy as it is” I answered and quickly he lifted me in his arms and began to take me up stairs but we stopped when we heard Silas yelling
“Murderer! Murderer! You murderer” he said this starring at me
“What has come over you Silas!”Cade asked as he still held me
“David would never have become that way I you had stayed away from him, you seduced him and turned him into a monster and he was thrown to jail all because of you,if he had never been there, all this wouldn’t have happened”he said
“Stop putting the blame on Emily Silas!”Cade father said beside him but he was too angry to listen.
“All this would have never happened if she had stayed in her lane, she kept on looking for David each time Cade fights with her, she seduced him with her charms and that got him infactuated, if only you had stayed away, he would never have gone crazy for you, he would never have been attracted to you, after all you are nothing but a gold digger, that is why you are clinging onto……..”
“Watch your mouth Silas!! I don’t care if you are grieving, I will make you pay, if you dare insult my wife” Cade said and that only made him smile
“That is what every one thinks too, she just married you just for your money , so don’t try to make excuses for her “he said
“I told you….”
“Please Cade! Just get me out of here!please”I begged preventing Cade from getting more angry at Silas.
He took me straight to one of the private room and sat down with me in his arms
“How are you feeling?”he asked
“Good”I said softly and it was all quite for a while but then he spoke again
“You aren’t a gold digger and don’t think about what silas said, I love you okay and that is what matter”he said and I nodded softly
“Would you like us to go some where!”he Asked
“Where are we going?”I asked
“It’s a secret”he said as he carried me in his arms and took me straight to the car with a few guards following us, we set off together
I was surprised to see that we stopped in front of Lucy house.
“Why are we here?”I asked starring at him
“We have to find our child right? Common let’s go”He said as he helped me out of the car and with the guards accompanying us, we walked to Lucy house and luckily for us,she was at home this time.
She walked out of the house when she saw us coming.
“Why are you here again?”she asked looking angry
“To see you Lucy”I replied
“Why and for what exactly?”she asked
“We need you to tell us the truth Lucy, we really have to find our child and it’s only you that can give us a clue to it” Cade added
“I have nothing to say to you, now leave before I do some thing”she said looking hostile
“Please Lucy don’t let us leave with out telling us where our child is? Please Lucy you are our last hope?”
“Last hope! Really! Where was that last hope when Denise killed my brother,Where was that last hope when she killed my husband and child? The only mistake I have ever made is to have agreed to be your nurse, I should have just do what she said but instead I disagreed and that cost me my family life, you have no idea how much I hate you all” she yelled out angryily
“We under stand your pain and we are sorry for it but we also suffered too Lucy, we are all a victim in the hands of Denise “I said
“You and I are but not him, he is the son of that wtch, the cause of all of this!”she yelled at Cade
“Believe me when I say that Cade has suffered too,so please tell us Lucy, as we have said before,you are our last hope”I begged softly starring at her.
