CADE POV

I sat in the van along with the police, watching Emily movement in the little camera which had been put on her.

“Will this really work?” I asked the police officer again, still not sure if it’s a good idea

“It will work, with just a few more time we will barge into the ware house and arrest that creep”the police officer replied

I nodded softly and decide to wait for when the police would go in on them but when I saw David kissing Emily that got me feeling so angry.

I left the van with out any one noticing and went into the ware house.

I still couldn’t believe that the creek was alive until I saw him myself and he still had the effontery to be proud about it, I thought as I stared at him angrily.

“You bastard! You should have died in the fire,you made a mistake by choosing to stay alive”I said feeling so very angry.

“What? Are you going to be the one to kill me now that I survived the fire ?”he asked mockingly

“I came here after all,you should know that I came to kill you myself”I replied angrily.

“Let’s see how you do that then?”he said as he point his gun at me while his two minions held me down.

“No David! Please don’t do it”Emily said as she went to stand in front of me but he pushed her away and that got my anger piling up.

He should just kill me, cause if he doesn’t,I will be the one to kill him myself,I thought with all my anger.

“You won’t have the time to mourn over him because I will be with you all the time ” he said as he point the gun at me

“This is good bye my dearest friend!”he said and then he fired the gun.

I was expecting to feel hurt but nothing came,instead I heard him yelling and when I opened my eyes to see what happened, it was to see the gun laying on the floor in front of him while my mom point the gun at him.

He bent to retrieve the gun but Emily took hold of it and she point the gun at him.

He stood for a while starring at Emily and my mom who had their gun pointed at him.

“What are you doing Denise”Laura who had been watching every thing quietly yelled out

“I just realised that I can’t sit back and watch my son die”my mom said starring at me

“So you’ve suddenly got a guilty conscience right?”David asked starring at the both of them

“Ask your dogs to let Cade go!”Emily said

“As much as I will love to do what you say l can’t do that because this bastard has to get out of the way so we can be together”he said

“I don’t want to be with you, I will never want to be with you, I only love Cade, do you hear me!!”she yelled at him and that got him so furious

“Ask your dogs to let my son go”my mom added putting fuel to the fire.

“Really?I never wanted it to be this way but now we have no choice”he said as his Minion brought out their own gun pointing it at my head.

“Put it in your head that as soon as you shoot me, they will also shoot him,I may not be missed but you will surely mourn over him, do you want that”he said using black mail on them

“No! do not listen to him,shoot him if you must”I yelled out at the two of them.

“You both love him and if you don’t want to see him dead,put your gun down right now”he said to them

“Do not listen to……..”I couldn’t finish my word because one of his dogs punched my face

“Fine! I will drop the gun”Emily yelled out as she put the gun down.

“No Emily!”I said with my bloody mouth

“Won’t you put yours down,do you really want to see your son dead?”he asked my mom who stared at me at first and even when I told her not to, she put her gun down surrendering to David

“I really envy you my friend”he said starring at me

“Just how much this two women loves you, wish I still have my mom with me, I won’t be so jealous of the motherly part but as for the other part, I don’t have to be jealous because I know that she will be mine at the end of this”he said starring at Emily.

“You ba$tard!!!”I yelled at him

“Come to me my love or I might just change my mind about him, you don’t want that right ? “he asked

Slowly Emily began to walk towards him and at that same time the police walked in shooting the dogs holding onto me

“Cade!”Emily yelled kicking the gun at me while David held onto her

“Let her go?”I said as I point the gun at him while the police did the same thing too

“Drop your weapon David”the police warned

“Do you really think I will do that! Have come this far,I won’t leave empty handed”he said as he pulled Emily neck.

“Let her go David!”I said again

“No! I would rather die along with her than to lose to you again”he said

“This is your last warning David! Let her go”the police officer yelled at him but he still won’t budge

Just then he yelled out,letting go of Emily and that’s because she bit his hand .

Emily ran towards me while the police shot David on his leg.

While the police took Laura and David,Emily and I sat on the floor,holding onto each other.

“Mommy!”on hearing Nina voice,Emily turned and Nina ran to Emily hugging her tight.

“Have missed you my baby!”Emily said as she held onto the child

I looked up to see my mom starring down at us with a smile on her face while the police hand cuffed her

She stared at me and for a while we kept on looking at each other and out of no where we heard the police yell and that was because David had manage to pull out their gun and he pointed it at me.

On seeing this my mom ran towards us and used her body to protect and on the same time,I heard the gun shot.

The gun hit her straight at the back that the bl.ood splattered on my face.

She laid in my arms and on seeing her this way,I got so angry that I shot David thrice on the stomach.

He fell on the floor,dying instantly with his eyes open.

Quickly I held my mom who was already spilling out blood.

“Mom! Hang on, please”I begged

“I…..I…..am sorry for every thing”she said softly and then stared at Emily who knelt beside her too .

“Am….am very sorry for what I did to you, I…I realise now how it will be if I lost Cade ,you must have felt that way when I killed your mom….am really sorry Emily … please take ….care of Cade…..you…..you two deserve to be happy”She said softly

“Stop talking like this mom!”i begged softly

“Be my happy Cade….and am sorry for every thing….am really…..really sorry “she said before blacking out .

A YEAR LATER

EMILY POV

“Mom where are we going that we have to get dressed in black”Nina asked

“It’s some one memorial service today and so we must be dressed in black”I said softly

“What’s a memorial service?”Nina asked

“Well it’s a service held for some one who died,well it’s a service held for some one who died, it’s to show that you never forgot that person”I explained in the form she could understand better

Just then the door opened and Cade walked in

“Is it time ?”I asked

“Not yet, you and I have to go some where first, the maid will continue with Nina”Cade said as he walked in giving Nina a peck on the fore head.

A while later I sat in his car starring at him,he looked a bit silent which is unlike him

The car drove into the penetentiary and I stared at him, he got out of the car and I did the same too

We both sat waiting and soon enough, the warden wheeled her out

As soon as Denise saw me, she gave me a smile.

She wheeled her self towards us and gave Cade a big smile

“Thank you for coming to see me”she said starring at me

“He kind of got me here with out telling me”I said making it known to her that I didn’t want to come here.

“I know, you never came to see me once for the past one year and I know that I deserve that and also I want to formally make an apology to you “she said

Suddenly she began to move on her wheel chair and fell on the floor in front of me.

Quickly I knelt on the floor,trying to help her up but she held my hand instead

“I can’t kneel, so let me do this”she said and I stopped starring at her

“Am really sorry, I know I don’t deserve to be forgiven by you but I have to get your forgiveness, getting paralysed have made me realise a lot of things, you suffered most from what happened years ago and that was all my fault, am really sorry Emily, please find it in your heart to forgive me”she said

Seeing her being regretful and apologetic,I couldn’t keep on being angry at her.

Karma have suddenly gotten to her because she will be crippled for the rest of her life and she will also be in jail too.

There is no point in being angry, I thought as I helped her seat on her chair with Cade help.

I knelt in front of her, dusting off the dirt on her jail uniform

“It’s all in the past Denise and I……I forgive you”I said starring at her and she gave me a smile in return.

Forgiving Denise was the only thing I had to do to let go of the past and doing that certainly eased a part of me, I thought as I gave her a smile too.

A while later Cade and I walked bare footed on the private beach,we weren’t saying any thing, we were just satisfied with being with each other

“David memorial service should have been done with by now”he said softly and I nodded

“Do you regret not going?”I asked

“No I don’t regret it, though David was an enemy, he was still my friend and his father asking me to be there specially wants to make a public apology”

“So won’t you be going ?”I asked

“No I won’t, David should be the one doing the apology but since he his dead he can’t do it, it will be unfair to let his father do it”he said and I nodded softly

“No more thinking of the past, now we should start thinking of the future”he said

“I was about suggesting that”I said softly and he pulled me into his arms

“Life gave me a second chance to make amends with you Emily and that is why you are in my life now, am really grateful to have you and Nina in my life”he said caressing my cheek

“I love you so much Cade and i thank life for bringing me into your life again”I said softly

“This time we will be together with out any thing separating us. You,me and Nina forever”he said making me smile

“Yes Cade, you,me and Nina, forever”I replied softly.
