IT’S OKAY TO CRY
Episode 29.
Anastasia happily returned home with bags and her kids hugged her,
“Mommy you missed, Grace said.
“Missed what dear? She asked.
“Hope birthday, anuty Dite invited our neighbors too, Favor replied.
“What birthday are you talking about? Was it planned that she invited the neighbors? Anastasia asked.
“I couldn’t keep quiet and do nothing, I did the little I could to mark her birthday and they enjoyed it, Dite replied coming out with Hope.
“Why are you this stubborn? Why should you call the neighbors to witness such miserable birthday party, why didn’t you just celebrate it with her sisters? Anastasia asked..
“What makes it miserable? They cut a cake, drank, danced and had fun. What makes it miserable then because the kids were happy, Dite replied and Mpho came out.
“Check the time Anastasia, where are you coming back from? He asked and she looked at the wall clock to see it past 8pm.
“My boss had a birthday party of their daughter I am taking care of, I need to be there. Besides the party was so big and i had many things to do, she replied.
“Really? What if there was no Dite, will you dump your kids from morning till this hour in the name of a birthday party? He asked.
“Please don’t start, its not my doing okay and its part of my job as the baby nanny. And you Dite, next time don’t bring people into my house in the name of an unplanned birthday party, stop embarrassing me, Anastasia said and looked at her kids who were just quiet.
“Darling I brought this for you, She said sharing them the bags Julia gave to the orphans.
“Thank you mommy, they chorused.
“You’re welcome baby, Anastasia said and went to her room while Mpho shook his head and sat down on the sofa.
Hope saw as they happily brought out the things from the bag, she crawled and held Favour to get the bag from her but Favor struggled,
“What’s that for? Won’t you give her a little gift from there? Dite asked and took out a toy from the bag and gave to Hope.
Favour got angry and threw the bag crying.
“Shut up before I slap your ass now! Dite shouted and Anastasia hurried out hearing Favour Cry.
“What’s going on here? Why are you crying? She asked.
“Aunty gave my toy to Hope, Favor reported.
“Dite what is your problem? Anastasia asked.
“Woman last I checked you have 5 children, why share 4 bags? Mpho came in.
“Why do you keep interfering in Dite case? Anastasia asked but Mpho hissed and went in and Anastasia looked at Dite.
Dite sighed and collected the toy throwing it on Favour and carried Hope to her room,
“Tomorrow I’ll get your own okay, Dite whispered to Hope and she nodded.
“Sorry baby, let’s go the room, Anastasia said to Favour and carried her to the room…………….
Months passed and Yvonne was almost due.
Mpho seeing her protruding tummy everyday was always scared when he thinks about the gender she will give birth to.
2 weeks later Mpho slept off when a call came on the phone. Anastasia who was awake decided to check out the call but saw “Sammy mechanic”.
“Sammy mechanic? She asked herself and minded her business.
The call came again and Mpho woke up and picked up with a sleepy tone,
“Hello baby, please hurry my water just broke, Yvonne voice came on phone.
“What! I’ll be right there, Mpho said and jumped down from the bed surprising Anastasia.
“Where are you going to at past 11pm? Anastasia asked seeing Mpho putting on his trousers.
“What do you care? He replied.
“what do i Care you say? Which mechanic do you want to meet? Anastasia asked but Mpho ran out just wearing his singlet and holding his shirt in his hand.
He took Yvonne to the hospital and at 3:40a.m she gave birth.
Mpho dozed off waiting for them outside but a tap woke him up,
“Doctor has she? Mpho anxiously asked rubbing his palms.
“Congratulations, you have a bouncing baby boy, the doctor replied and Mpho eyes bulged out.
“Sorry, what did you just say? You mean it’s a boy? Like truly a boy or are you kidding? Mpho asked and the doctor smiled.
“Congratulations, he replied tapping him and walked away while Mpho slowly sat on the floor.
“Its a boy, its a boy, I can’t believe this, yes its a boy! Mpho screamed like a mad man and ran into the room to meet Yvonne.
He hugged her tight on the b.ed as she laid weakly, “why are you so excited? She weakly asked.
“Don’t you know? Its a boy, darling its a boy thank you, he replied and hugged her again.
“You can carry out the paternity test on him, Yvonne said.
“Is that important? He asked.
“No please do it, is fine by me, she replied.
“That aside, where is the baby? Mpho asked.
“The nurse took him away, he’s so handsome, Yvonne said.
“Really? You saw his face? He asked.
“Yea I made sure i saw him before they took him away, you know i have been hearing stories of mixups and I don’t want to make the mistake, she whispered to him.
“Mixup with my son? They won’t even try it. Oh thank you Yvonne, I love you so much, Mpho said and Kssed her.
“OK sir we have to tidy her up now, a nurse said to him.
“Okay, should i go out? He asked.
“You should use this opportunity to go get the baby things. Maybe come back in the morning, the nurse replied checking the time to see it was 4a.m already.
“Honey go rest your head okay, i know I’ve stressed you a lot, Yvonne came in
“Don’t forget is weekend, I’ll go prepare you some food and bring some clothes for you and our son okay. I’ll be back, Mpho said pecking her and left.
He got into the car and saw numerous missed calls from Anastasia, he Hissed, started the car and drove off to Yvonne place.
He returned in the morning with some wears and food, but met Yvonne sleeping. He went to the baby’s bed scared to carry him as he just looked at him sleeping,
“Mpho junior, should I call you that or get a more beautiful name for you? He asked himself and Yvonne woke up smiling at him as he was not aware.
“You’re back? She asked and he looked at her.
“I didn’t want to wake you up, how are you feeling now? You know your actions yesterday was more than comedy, Mpho said and Yvonne laughed.
“Is that how it hurts? Christ I felt like running mad, she replied.
“Sorry about that, Mpho said.
“Its okay and sorry too, i really stressed you a lot despite your busy day at work, she replied.
‘But It worth the stress, he said and Anastasia called again.
“Won’t you pick up? Yvonne asked.
“No i won’t, its Better i go home and face her, He replied.
“I spoke with the doctor concerning the paternity test, I don’t want you to shift that aside because its a boy. I want you to see for yourself and trust me, she said and he heaved.
“Ok fine I’ll meet with him, now sit up and eat, I hope you enjoy it, he said bringing out a flask……………….
