Episode 6.
Anastasia couldn’t sleep the whole night as Yvonne words kept piercing in her ears,
“Another woman child is missing, I didn’t want this to happen, what am I going to do now? She kept asking herself walking around the house.
“Mom aren’t you going to the shop? Grace asked.
“No not today, she replied.
“They haven’t seen Hope yet? Precious asked.
“In fact I have to go back there, I’ll be back girls, Anastasia replied.
“Mommy what if we help out in the shop? You already cooked remember? We can help you serve, Grace said and Anastasia looked at her.
“Are you sure about that? She asked and they nodded.
“Please be careful if not we will run lost, I’ll be back soon, Anastasia said giving them the keys and left.
Mpho arrived home and met Anastasia outside the house,
“Is there no one at home? He asked when he met her sitting outside.
“Its better I sit outside else you might find your wife dead before you return, she replied getting up.
“I have no strength for this okay, He said and slowly went in while she followed behind.
“So any news about my daughter? She asked and he shook his head.
“Presently the cops have cases of missing children already, If this is a kidnapping case i should have a call yet, he replied.
“So what are you trying to say? That we won’t see Hope again? Are you trying to say Hope is gone? Mpho what are you telling me? Anastasia asked crying already and Mpho slowly hugged her and Yvonne peeped looking at them sadly.
“Am so sorry, please forgive me, Mpho said hugging her.
“No I refuse to give up, can we go to another station and take it up to the media? that will be faster you know, Anastasia said.
“The media? That is very smart and that’s what the cops suppose to do. But they have given up already, Mpho said.
“No I won’t accept that, let’s do something Mpho please I can’t lose a child now I beg you, Anastasia said.
“Alright let’s go try it out, Mpho said and Yvonne came out.
“Wont you stay to eat a little before you leave? She asked.
“That will be when I get back, he replied and left with Anastasia…………….
“How are you feeling now? Monica asked touching Hope hair.
“Very fine, I feel like leaving the hospital already but then I don’t want to, She replied.
“So you won’t go back home? Okay what if I don’t take you home? Monica asked.
“I’ll be so happy and get healed immediately, she replied and Monica laughed.
“That will be nice you know, Monica said and Hope nodded sadly.
“Has anyone looked for me? She asked.
“Honey I can’t tell, they may be looking for you but we won’t know, Monica replied.
“Why should they look for me when they don’t love Me, that cant be, Hope said and Monica looked at her.
“You know they will really miss you a lot, the way you talk interests me but you may not be too sure about that, Monica said.
“My aunty likes me a lot, she makes me sit beside her in class, Hope replied.
“Really? Then someone loves you, what makes you think no one loves you? Monica asked.
“But why can’t family love me the same way? Hope asked.
“Is alright dear, you’re coming with me, so I want you to recover quickly, Monica said and Hope looked at her.
“Are you serious aunty? Hope asked.
“If you don’t want it I won’t force you, Monica replied smiling and Hope got up immediately and hugged her not minding the drip strip on her hand.
“Careful baby, Monica said.
“Thank you aunty, thank you. I promise to be a good girl I won’t fail you, Hope said.
“I know dear and i promise to try my very best to love you. I and my husband will do the best we can, Monica replied and Hope hugged her again and a nurse walked in.
“Oh no not again, Hope sadly said…………
The door bell rings and the The maid opened up to see a lady walked in holding a young boy.
“Is Aunt Fiona in please? She asked.
“Yes she is, please have a seat, the maid replied.
“Thank you, Chloe said sitting with her son.
“Please who is waking to see her? The maid asked.
“Chloe, Julia friend, She replied.
“I’ll be back, the maid said and went up to call Fiona.
“Ma a lady by name Chloe wants to see you, The maid said getting into her room.
“Chloe? Wow I’ll be down in a minute, Fiona replied and the maid left.
“Honey we have a visitor, Fiona said and was done braiding Palesa hair.
She came down together with Palesa and Chloe got up to give her a warm hug.
“What a pleasant surprise Chloe, you’re welcome, Fiona said.
“Thank you, and this must be Julia angel, hello girl, Chloe said.
“Hi aunty, Palesa said waving her hand.
“You’re so beautiful like your mom, Chloe said giving her a peck.
“And this should be the young boy I saw you with last? He has grown so handsome, Fiona said.
“Yes he is, Jason, Chloe replied.
“Hello Jason, want to play? Palesa asked before Fiona could say anything.
“Oh why not? Honey will you love to play? Chloe asked him and he nodded.
“Let’s go, Palesa said holding his hand and left with him while they sat looking at them.
“My oh my, your grand daughter is so pretty and smart, Chloe said and Fiona smiled.
“So how have you been? You didn’t call your friend as you promised why? Fiona asked.
“I am so sorry, I misplaced her number, she replied.
“Don’t worry you can talk to her now, she will be so happy to hear from you, Fiona said dialing her number.
“Oh is that so? Chloe asked sitting up.
“Yea thats right, she just spoke with her daughter not long ago, Fiona replied.
“But why is she not with her daughter? Chloe asked.
“She sent her here for school, she replied but Julia number wasn’t going through.
‘Oh my Bad, what should i offer you? Fiona asked.
“Nothing aunty, a glass of juice will do, Chloe replied.
“I’ll go get it for you then for we have a lot to discuss before I’ll try Julia number again, Fiona said getting up.
“Okay aunt, Chloe said …………..
Anastasia and Mpho arrived at the station and she didn’t hesitate to cry to the cops,
“Please find my daughter I beg you, she cried.
“You again? Madam your husband told us we are useless, he should go find his daughter if its that easy, A cop said and Anastasia eyes bulged out.
“We are divorced please and don’t mind him, he talks stupidly like that. Please help me I beg you, Anastasia said bringing out Hope picture again.
“But sir what if we announce this through the media, someone might see my daughter somewhere and call us up, please we will pay if we have to, Anastasia continued.
“You’re a smart woman and for your sake we will take up this case again. What’s your daughter name again? A cop asked.
“Hope Mpho,she replied.
“Age? A cop asked.
“3 years, she replied.
“Missed yesterday by what time exactly? He asked.
“Past 10a.m or so, Mpho replied when Anastasia looked at him..
“We will put this through immediately, but know that if this is a kidnapping case and they get to know about it, i fear it will be risky for her, the cops and.
“But we haven’t heard from them and we can’t wait anymore, Anastasia replied.
“Its alright, we will be heading there now, the cop said.
“Thank you, thank you so much, Anastasia said and left with Mpho.
“You acted well, Mpho slowly said while driving.
“At least not in a foolish way like yours, drop me here, Anastasia said and he swallowed.
“Won’t you let me drop you off at home? It won’t be in a foolish way, He said but she was silent…………
The doctor entered and saw Monica playing game with Hope,
“Good after noon doctor, how are you feeling? No pains i guess? Hope asked and he shook his head smiling.
“You didn’t let me ask you that first right? Guess you know my language already, he said and she nodded.
“Smart girl, he said and playfully drew her chin.
“Ma a minute please, He said to Monica and stood by the door with her.
“Any problem doctor? She asked.
“There is, I just saw the news and Hope is being reported missing, The doctor said and Monica eyes bulged out.
“No no, she said going backwards and Hope sat up looking at them.
“I understand you ma, but what are you going to do? Apart from you and I, the nurses knows where Hope is and anyone can ignorantly call up the cops. I am telling you this because i trust you and you told me the truth before i saw the news, The doctor said and Monica eyes was filled with tears.
“Aunty why are you crying? Hope asked confusedly when she saw Monica face.
“I know she is not mine but I don’t want them to take her away from me, Monica replied ignoring Hope.
“Maybe you should tell Hope about this, she is a smart girl and let her choose who she wants to stay with, after all you saved her life, the doctor said.
“Its not enough, her parents has the right over her whether Hope accepts or not, besides she is still a kid and what are we going to say to the cops that her parents don’t love her? If that is true they shouldn’t have taken her to the media, Monica said in tears.
‘When you left my office after we talked about Hope, I saw that passion and love you have for that soul lying there. I felt it you don’t have yours and i won’t let Hope pass you by, I love her too and i want the best for her. I promise you, they won’t take her away from you, The doctor said surprising Monica and left the room..
“Aunty why are you crying? Hope asked but Monica just walked up to Hope and hugged her………………
