Just The Beginning ?
Episode twelve
Alex
” This has to stop Alex, I mean, what’s your problem?! George says furiously. He’s messing up his hair, something he always does when he’s upset.
” Can you please excuse us, ” I tell Lisa who is busy watching us.
” Sure, ” she says coldly and I don’t get what’s wrong with her.
” She’s my problem, why can’t you see through her? She has this innocent look, the same one that Stacy always had and look at what she turned out to be! Am just saving you before you end up like me. Did she even tell you that she has a boyfriend? ”
” What boyfriend? Alex, stop this nonsense okay? Vee and Stacy are two different people, stop comparing them. Just because Stacy is a maniac doesn’t mean all girls are and anyway aren’t you with that Lisa girl? ”
” That is totally different. Lisa and I are only having sx nothing serious but you….. You like violet more than you are supposed to. She’s not the type of girl you want to spend forever with, ” I say placing my hand on his shoulder but he brushes it off.
” Don’t mess with vee again if you still want us to be friends, ” he says and I look at him confused. “I really like her and I wont let you ruin it for me. If she’s a mistake then am ready to learn from it, ” he says walking away.
Did he just say that he was willing to throw away all our years of friendship, because of her !
What’s wrong with him? Unlike me he has all the signs in front of him. I mean, the girl works at a club and is also a $tripper who sings, just to entertain men for money!
What more does he want ?!
I only came here to drop Lisa off but now I wish I didn’t.
I am on my way to the parking lot, when I see Lisa in a hurry, walking my way.
” Hey, are we leaving already? ”
” What do you mean we? aren’t your supposed to be working and anyway I only came here to drop you. ”
” I know know but I thought that maybe…. ” She says licking her lips, her palms roaming my chest. ” We can continue with our fun. ”
” Am kind of exhausted, ” i say pushing her hands away.
” Okay…. But dont you want to….
” I said no! Leave me alone already, ” I shout at her and she moves back shocked.” Am sorry for that but you have to stop acting so clingy. There’s nothing going on between us beyond sex and am paying you for that to, so please don’t act like you are my girlfriend. I have to go, ” I get in my car and drive off.
Withing minutes am in my apartment. The first thing I do is have a shower and afterwards go straight to bed.
I can’t seem to catch any sleep and I find myself thinking about Ava. She usually came here on weekends, and the place was so lively with her around.
I really miss her!
I wonder if she’s okay out there and why she ran away from home. I wish she just opened up and talked to me about her problems, so I could help her out.
Isn’t that what big brothers are there for?!
I knew that she never got along with my mum, since she was the daughter of one of dads mistress and that must have been one of the reasons she ran away.
This apartment is big enough for both of us, so I still don’t get why she didn’t come to me.
It has been six months since she ran away and I can’t seem to find her anywhere! I’ve hired a private investigator to look for her but he can’t seem to trace her, it’s like she’s disappeared into thin air!
Today the P.I had called to tell me he had a lead and that got me all excited, hoping to see my sister again. We met up at the park, where I saw vee and her so called boyfriend. He told me that someone had spotted her around here but he still had no idea where she was.
I was so angry at him for wasting my time and as if my day wasn’t bad enough, vee slapped me!
Am never going to let her get what she wants from George. I’ll do anything and everything to show him that she’s only trying to use him for her own selfishness.
My cell phone rings, bringing me back to reality and I reach out for it.
” Hi mum, what can I do for you? ”
” Am glad you asked that .I need you to come over for dinner tomorrow. ”
The last people, I want to see right now, stay in that house and there no way am going there.
” Am sorry mum but I’d probably be to exhausted from work, to make it. ”
” What work? ” she says almost rudely. Don’t take me for a fool Alex. I know you haven’t been going to work for the past couple of days and that is one of the reasons I want you here, I’ll see, you tomorrow, ” she says hanging up.
so much to freedom of choice!
I sigh deeply face palming myself. How am I going to be in the same room with those two hypocrites, without wanting to strangle them? But most importantly, how am I going to look my mum in the eye and not tell her what they did?
The only reason I haven’t told her yet is because I don’t want to see her hurt. I know she acts tough but I always see the suffering in her eyes.
I remember when she first learnt that Dad has a daughter, she was so broken that she locked herself in her room the whole day. She was used to Dad sleeping around but I guess she never thought that he’d have a child with one of them.
That was the saddest I had ever seen her but what was more surprising was that she allowed Dad to bring Ava in our house after her mum died, but I later got to know the reason why.
Mum wanted to make sure that Ava suffered everyday of her life, but I was always there to defend her until I moved. Dad was never around and I doubt he knew what was happening in his own house.

My alarm wakes me up in the morning and I jump out of bed heading to the shower. I don’t even recall how I fell asleep last night.
The day is exhausting and am glad when I don’t run into Dad. I’ve tried to call George multiple times but he isn’t picking up. I don’t get why he’s acting like this. I thought it was always bros before hoes but I guess he proved me wrong.
We’ve never fought over a girl before and I hope he gets back to his senses soon. He is the only person keeping me sane from my messed up life right now.
Am done for the day and I head to my apartment for a shower before going for dinner.
” Hi baby, ” Mum greets me with a hug, kssing my cheek, when I get home.
” Hi mum. ”
She takes my hand leading me to the dinning room where Dad and Stacy are already sitted and I frown the second my eyes land on them. I hate how they are so comfortable, Don’t they even feel guilty for what they did?!
Mum walks me to the chair next to Stacy and when I try to move, she gives me a murderers look and I have no other choice but to sit, rolling my eyes.
” Hi son, ” Dad says and I just ignore him.
Seconds later the food is served and we all dig in silently. Mum keeps glancing from me to Stacy and am really curious as to what is on her mind right now.
” So, when is the wedding? ” She asks.
” Am sorry mum but there won’t be a wedding,” I say still focused on my food. I had a lot going on today that in didn’t realize that I haven’t eaten anything since morning.
” What are you talking about? Of course the wedding is still on. ”
” No it’s not mum, and can we please not talk about this !”
” No, this is the best time to talk about this. How can you do this to Stacy, after she forgave you for what you did to her? ”
” What are you talking about? ” I ask confused looking at Stacy .
She’s looking up at me a secretive smile curved on her face and that tells me that she’s definitely up to something.
” You cheated on her with that slut Lisa and she forgave you, ” mum says and I look at her my eyes nearly popping out.
” Wait, what?!
All this time Dad was just eating, while watching the show.
” Yes Alex, I told your mum everything that happened and she still thinks we should get married and I also agree, ” Stacy says shamelessly.
What nerve she has twisting the story!
” Am sorry mum, but I’ve already made up my mind about this. ”
” And so have I. You won’t find anyone else like Stacy out there and I won’t let you ruin her life after she’s been with you through thick and thin. ”
” I decide who I want to spend the rest of my life with, and it’s definitely not going to be her?!” I say glaring at Stacy as i rise up to leave.
” Where do you think you are going? ” Mum asks slamming the table. ” Sit back………… ” i watch in horror as she falls to the floor before she can finish her sentence.
