Just The Beginning ?
Episode twenty five

Am in my room ,working on something on my laptop. I slept most of the day and now I’ve got so much work in hands. My headache has still not subsided yet and so I decided to work from home.
Everything that happened last night with Lisa is still a blur and am starting to doubt the drink she gave me. There was definitely something in there.
I was stupid to trust her but am more than glad it’s all over now.
Antony, my P.I called me in the early morning and told me that some other guys are looking for my sister and he suspects that she’s in big trouble. He said that this people are bad news and he’s still not sure what they want from her.
I don’t know what kind of mess she’s gotten herself into this time. All I know is that I’ve got to find her as soon as possible, before they do.
As am busy typing, George walks in my room.
” Hey George, what brings you here. ”
” Why is your phone off? I had to go to your office, just to find out you never came in today, ” he says. He seems kind of nervous as he paces around the room.
” I turned it off since I was too exhausted and I didn’t want anyone disturbing me. What’s going on with you and would you please stop pacing back and forth. You’re making my headache worse than it is. ”
” I really messed up big time and I don’t know what to do. Am freaking out! ”
” Okay… Just calm down and tell me everything. ”
” Okay,” he says taking a seat. ” Vee found me in my office, having sex with Meghan!”
” So you forgot to lock the door again? You should really stop doing that or at least make sure you always lock the door. Anyways, what was vee doing in your office? ”
” She works there . She has been working there for almost two months now and I didn’t know. Imagine that! ”
” That explains why I saw her there.”
” Yap, and now I’ve lost any chance I had with her. There’s no way she’ll ever forget what she saw. ”
” Yeah, you are so doomed. ”
” Hey, you are not helping, ” he said hitting lightly on my arm.
” What’s your problem dude? weren’t you already done with her? ”
” I was but after seeing her today, I just can’t seem to get her out of my mind. ”
” Oh boy, here we go again! ” I say face palming myself. ” You still remember that she wants nothing to do with you, right? ”
” Yes, I do. How can i forget that and also the fact that she has a boyfriend. ”
” She actually doesn’t have a boyfriend. That guy was just lying. ”
” What? ” he asks his face lighting up. ” she’s single?! ”
” Yes but still, don’t forget that she’s not interested in you. There’s no use in getting your heart broken a second time now, is there? ”
” I know but love isn’t always a bed of roses. I’ll give it a try just one last time, you know am never one to give up that fast. ”
” Of course you are not. You are a lawyer after all, ” I say shaking my head.
” Yeah….that reminds me. Your Dad withdrew a huge amount of money today. He needed me there since I am your family lawyer and I found it fishy when he asked me not to tell you.”
” This is all Stacy’s doing. I told you she was blackmailing him. ”
” Yes I remember, and I think you should do something soon before your parents go broke. You should help him this time around. He looked so helpless. ”
” I think you are right. Helping him will be one way of making Stacy pay. ”

We spend the afternoon chatting and after dinner, George leaves.
Stacy has been out the whole day, and my guess is that she’s out misusing the money Dad gave her. That is actually kind of a blessing since I need to talk to Dad without any interruptions.
Mum is up in her room resting while Dad is in his office. This is definitely the right time to talk to him.
” I need to talk to you, ” I say walking in.
” Okay. ”
” Am not going to beat around the bush and so I need you to tell me why Stacy is black mailing you. ”
” What? She isn’t black…. ”
” Cut the bullshit Dad and tell me the truth! ” I say slamming the table.I usually do that a lot when am pissed off. ” I over heard you talking to her the other day in your office so don’t bother lying. What does she have against you? ”
” Okay, I’ll tell you, ” he says sighing softly and leaning on the chair. ” Stacy found out that i have another son. ”
” What? You have another son?! ”
This guy never ceases to surprise me!
” Yes, and the only reason am entertaining Stacy is because of your mum. I don’t think she’ll be able to handle it. ”
” I don’t think that will affect her much. She already knows what kind of a man you are. ”
” It’s actually, way worse than you think, ” he says very seriously.
” Way worse?! What could be worse than that? ”
” It’s a very long story, ” Dad says.
” Believe me, I’ve got all night, ” I say taking a seat.
” You have to promise not to tell your mum about it first. ”
” Come on Dad, you know I’ll never do anything that’ll hurt her in any way, especially not now. ”
” Okay. Your mums sister and I had an affair 25 years ago and that’s how your brother was conceived. ”
My brother! That sounds so weird.
” What are you talking about? Mum doesn’t have any siblings. ”
” Actually, she does have a half sister, Ashley . They’ve never been able to see eye to eye. They always fought over everything as children and the hatred grew with them. Your aunt is dead to your mum and that’s why she never talks about her. ”
” Okay….. Continue. ”
” Your mum was already three months pregnant when Ashley got pregnant. All she wanted was to ruin your mums life by stealing me away from her, but I didn’t have the guts to leave your mum. Ashley threatened to tell your mum but she knew that it was her words against mine and there was no way she’d win. Since she was carrying my child, I offered her a large amount of money to leave us alone and bought her a house. ”
” Do you still see her? ”
” Yes, but only for my son. Most of the time that am away, am usually with your brother. ”
” And you are sure mum doesn’t know about this? You know you shouldn’t underestimate her. ”
” She doesn’t. I did everything i could to hide it from her. ”
” So….just to be sure, Do you have any more children out there? ” I ask and he looks at me shaking his head.
” No, I don’t. ”
” So how did Stacy find out. ”
” Your brother moved to the city some years ago and owns a club not far from here.Stacy was at the club one day, when I had gone to see him and she over heard him calling me Dad. She cornered me asking a lot of questions and I didn’t have a choice but admit that Nick was really my son. I don’t know how she found out about Ashley though, since I didn’t tell her. ”
” Typical Stacy. She always finds a way to get whatever she wants, ” I say rolling my eyes. ” But wait, did you just say Nick?”
” Yes, why? ”
” What is the name of the club? ”
” Club Deluxe. ”
I just can’t believe it! Nick, vees boss is my brother?!
” Did Stacy by any chance ask you to fire someone from the club? ”
” Yes. ”
So, vee was right. Stacy got Lisa fired and it was all my fault.
” Okay, I’ll find a way out of this, some how, ” I say as I get up and leave his office.
Wow! How am I supposed to take in all this? I think my head ache is here to stay.
I mean, it’s not everyday you wake up and find out you have a brother / cousin and an aunt, who you knew nothing about for about twenty five years!
This is all so crazy.
