Episode Forty
Vee
“What drama? And why is your mum insisting on vee been at the dinner. How does she even know her? ” George asks.
” Look George, ” Alex starts off and tells him the whole story.
” So your mum thinks that Vee is your fake pregnant girl friend?! ”
” Yes and Vee agreed to help me out, ” Alex says.
” I don’t think it’s a good idea mainly because, Stacy knows Vee and am sure Merghan has already told her that am interested in Vee. She’ll surely use that against you. ” George says and I completely agree with him.
” George is right. I told you that lies always end up in a crazy way and am really not a good liar. I’ve never lied once in my life and I don’t want to mess this up for you. ”
” It’s okay if you don’t want to play along. I know you have a lot of things going on right now and maybe it’s about time I tell mum the truth. ” Alex says but I can tell he’s kind of nervous.
” Come on vee, you promised to help him out. You know he’s only doing this for his mums own good. What if her health is affected?” Rita says making me feel guilty.
They are helping me out a lot and I did promise to help Alex out.
” Okay… but am really nervous about this. Am not sure I’ll be able to lie, especially not to your father, ” I say biting my lower lip.
” Don’t worry about my father, ” Alex says looking at me weirdly. “I’ll take care of him. Now, who we have to worry about is Stacy. Am sure she something up her sleeve. ”
” There actually nothing to worry about. The only thing Stacy knows about you, is that you work with George and that he’s interested in you. If that happens to come up during the dinner, George will have to say that it is all just a stupid rumor, ” Ava says. ”
” You can do that, right George? ” Alex asks.
” Of course, why not, ” he says with a bored expression.
” You don’t have to act all excited about it! ” Alex says sarcastically rolling his eyes.
” I just hope all this ends soon. Am already stressed out! ” I say.
” I hope so to, ” George says getting up. ” Vee, can talk to you for a minute. ”
” Sure, ” I say earning a funny look from Rita.
He leads the way taking me to a room at the far end of the hall. It’s huge and looks like a movie theater with a big screen and very comfy looking sofas in the middle.
” Wow! ” I say my eyes roaming around.
” Haven’t you been here before? ” George asks.
” Nope, and to think I live here, ” I say shaking my head.
” We usually come here to watch our football games or movies.You can call it the fun room as Stacy used to call it. This was one of her favourite rooms and she used to spend a lot of time here, watching movies but mostly making crazy love with Alex . Am sure those two will eventually get back together, Alex has always been in love with her and will forgive her one of this days, “George says and I dont get why he’s telling me this.
” Okay…., ” I say giving him a confused look. ” Did you call me here, to tell me all about Stacy’s and Alex’s love story? ”
” Of course not. I called you here to talk about us. ”
” There’s no us George. ”
” I know and I would really love it if there was. Can we please sit, ” he says and I shake my head. Am disgusted just thinking that Alex and Stacy could have had sex in every corner with it.
” I prefer standing. ”
” Okay, so I know you asked me to stay away from you but I can’t seem to do it. ”
” You also can’t seem to keep your hands off Merghan either, ” I say lifting a brow.
” There’s nothing between Merghan and I. ”
” She doesn’t seem to think so. She even tried to kill me all because of you?!” I say with a sigh. ” Look George,i really don’t have time for love right now and sincerely speaking, I don’t believe in love. ”
” Please vee, ” he pleads. ” Just give me a chance to prove to you that love does exist. Atleast get to know me better first before you reject me. ”
” I can’t… Especially not now. ”
” Am willing to wait until you are ready. let’s just go out as friends first and get to know each other and if you are still not interested in me after that, I won’t bother you ever again. ”
“Am sorry but I can’t go out with you, ” I say shaking my head.
” Vee, come on! Atleast tell me you’ll think about it, ” he says his eyes begging and I feel kind of sorry for him.
If Maya was here she’ll definitely tell me to give it a shot, right?
” Okay… I’ll think about it, ” I say.
” Really,” He say showing me his perfect smile. ” Thank you.”
” Can we get out of here now? ”
” Okay, ” he says and out of the room we go.
Neither Alex nor Rita is in the sitting room, when we get there.
“Okay, I have to go now. I’ll see you later, ” George say leaving and I make my way up the stairs.
The first thing i hear when I get in the room is water running in the shower and seconds later ,Rita walks out and freezes the second she sees me.
” I thought something was wrong with the shower.”
” Yeah… but I already fixed it, ” she says nervously.
” Really, that was fast, ” I say with raised eyebrows not believing a word she says. I just hope that it’s not what am thinking Rita! ”
” Okay… It’s..what you are thinking ,” she say still nervous, avoiding my gaze.
” But.. How could you do that to me? Your brother literally saw me nked!”
” Really? ” she says with a smile, her eyes popping out.
” I really don’t get what’s funny there, ” I say glaring at her, my hands over my chest.
” Am sorry, ” she says walking to the bed. ” sincerely speaking, am just trying to bring you two closer. It’s not my fault that you look so good together.”
” Well, you should stop because that will never happen, ” I say sitting on the bed. ” Please promise never to do that again. ”
” Okay.. I promise, ” she says rolling her eyes. ” Anyways,i have to get dressed. Dad just called and he wants to take me out for dinner, ” she says excitedly, walking in the closet.
She comes out a few minutes later looking beautiful.
” Wow! You look spectacular . ”
” Thank you. Now come, let’s go down stairs, ” she says stretching out her hand to me.
” No, am exhausted. I think I’ll just sleep.”
” You can’t sleep on an empty stomach! Alex was already making something when I came up and am sure he’s done already,” she says and seconds later, we hear the sound of the door bell.
” Don’t worry about me. Go and have fun with your Dad, I’ll go down in a few. ”
” Okay.. Bye. ”
I climb on the bed and cover myself, hoping sleep will come soon. I still don’t get why George had to take me to the so called fun room and tell me everything he did, now I can’t seem to get it out of my head!
I lay on the bed for about thirty minutes but I can’t seem to get any sleep!”
Ugh! I say sitting up and grab my phone, putting on my head phones. I play one of the songs from my play list and close my eyes. This always relaxes me.
A few seconds into the music, the door is unlocked and Alex steps in. He walks to the be d and sits next to me, while I take off my head phones.
” Aren’t you hungry? I’ve been waiting for you to come down for like twenty minutes now! ”
” Am not. ”
” When are you ever? ” he says taking my hand but I yank it away from him.
” Didn’t you hear me say that am not hungry! ” I lash out on him.
Whats wrong with me? Why am I even angry at him?!
” Are you angry with me or something, ” he asks surprised by my reaction. ” If it’s about what happened in the shower, you should know it wasn’t intentional. ”
” I know and am sorry for that. I guess am just exhausted and can’t seem to get any sleep. ”
” It’s okay and it’s to early for bed anyway. We should eat and watch a movie after or maybe go out and have some fun.”
” No, am not in the mood to go out but I’ll take you up on that movie offer, ” I say getting up from bed.
We have dinner, with Alex telling me all about his mischievousness as a kid, making me laugh until I couldn’t. He was really naughty.
Anyway, after we are done with our food. Alex puts on a movie by Dwayne Johnson and I get comfortable on my seat, waiting for the action to begin. Am sure it’s going to be a fantastic movie,since that guy never dissapoint.
” Can I get you a drink? ” Alex asks.
” No thank you. I don’t drink. ”
” Really? ” he asks shocked. ” You work at a club and you’ve never had alcohol! I bet you are going to that you are a virgin to? ” he says smiling and I suddenly feel cold.
” No.. am not a vrgin, ” I say calmly, the image of how I lost my vrgnity playing in my head and silent tears fall from my eyes.
” Hey, are you okay, ” he asks moving closer and wiping my cheeks. ” Am sorry, i was only a joking, I didn’t mean to make you cry, ” he says concerned.
” You didn’t do anything wrong. Excuse me, I have to go to bed now, ” I say getting up but he pulls me back down, making me land on his lap.
” Don’t leave, please, ” he whispers, his thumb caressing my lower lip, making me tremble.
” Wha..t are you doing ,” I ask my body getting warmer by the minute.
” I don’t know, ” he says his eyes locking with mine. ” All I know right now is that i want to kss you so bad! ” His words make me shiver involuntarily, and my mind is blank right now.
